Good Morning Girls :)

Today was DS 45 min. yoga. I almost didn't get up! One glass of wine last night, and I was sooooo tired! I got a good nights sleep, but hard to wake up! But I figured if I didn't work out this morning it wouldn't get done~ I have no wiggle room this week because I'm gone this weekend! I enjoyed the yoga, I was looser this week and did better with the poses. I also added in a few vinyasas where he does them in the longer practice.

I am going to do LIS tomorrow with the premix of weights first, and tack on the abs at the end. I think I am going to work my calves just every other week.

Marcy~ How was your workout today? Did you do yoga? Any funky poses today:)? Now that I have the P90X weight work, (except the legs~ which I am going to stick with Cathe), I can start either in Jan. or April. I will go with what ever you decide. I realized I can't start March because we are going away for 10 days and I won't be working out then. I don't care when we start, I realized I can still buy STS and just not use it right away. }( I know its only week 2, but I am really enjoying this new series! I could do this series for another month or two easily, useing some premixes.... I also have been noticing what great results I've been getting with Cathe!!!

Gin~ I hope you got a good nights sleep and no headaches today!!! What yoga did you do? I worked up a "faux" X with Cathes new series which I can post later if you or Tracee want. I did it before I got the X. Then we can all do it together. Your DH seems very old fashioned about the weight lifting thing. But even so, he must love the results your getting!!!;-) Maybe that can persude him to lookinto a chin up bar for you!:)

Tracee~ Did you get a workout in? Yoga? :)

Have a great day all!!
BBL,

Morning guys! Well today became a sleep day for me. I know part of it is that I can't get motivated to do a yoga workout. I thought I liked them at first but they just don't do it for me. I need to do something though so I'll have to look on FitTV and see if there is anything out there I would enjoy as a substitute.

Deanie - I agree about the calf work. I only did a small portion of it last week and I don't think I'll ever do the entire thing at one time. I just don't need that much work on my calves, they're fine the way they are.

Gin/Marcy - Hope all is well today.

Good Morning DMT!

Today I walked with my friend instead of running (just not feeling 100%!x( ) and then did BB's Level 2 yoga , which is 70 min. long. I guess it is the daily migraine preventative that is making me feel this way. My HR was up to 170's yesterday with KB (not normal for me) and at one point I felt really sick. I called the dr. on Monday with a msg to call back and have not heard back yet!x(

Tomorrow I have a gyno procedure called, Cryo Procedure. I have had a couple of abnormal paps.

Deanie--I was able to sleep last night without taking sleeping pills, but still feel tired. But no headache at the moment!! Yeah!:) I would love for you to post the faux X, thank you! My DH doesn't say anything about weight gain or loss on me. Don't think he notices. It's all good, though.:) I think it is that he doesn't want me to focus on appearance, but just health.??? I'm guessing.

Hi Marcy and Tracee---Have a great day!

Gin

Good Afternoon DGT!

Sorry I'm a little late posting today. I've been busy. Today was LIS, Shoulders, Calves & Core. (I still have to make up yesterday's Kickbox Core - I'll try and do that tomorrow). It wasn't as intense for me today. Don't know if it's because I'm more familiar with the workout and it's getting easier or I didn't put enough intensity into it. I used the same weights as last week except I went up 1# to 16# for upright rows and I used 12# on the Standing Lat Raises with straight arms. The second set was tough though. I did better on the seated isolation presses - only missed the very last rep on both sides. Core work was easier - I did all the bicycles:) but I still really don't feel these in my core. How about you guys? Tomorrow will be yoga but I haven't decided which one yet.

Deanie - Check your e-mail. I sent you something. January sounds good. I might get interrupted if I have to move though. We're going to try and lower the price on the house again to see if we get any more bites. This market really sucks right now and the lenders are being really tough on the buyers requirements for a loan. I'm really enjoying the 4DS too and feel stronger and tighter. Good work on yoga today.

Tracee - Why not try Namaste Yoga on Fit TV? I'm not sure what other yoga workouts there are on Fit TV. I did the calves today but I do think it's a little overkill. I skipped some reps here and there.

Gin - I've never heard of the Cryo Procedure. What is it? Glad you're headache free at the moment. When you do healthy things, appearance also gets better. Tell DH the heavier weights and the X will make you stronger and build lean muscle which when we age keeps decreasing.

Tips from my healthy eating seminar:

She stressed portion control and showed us the "portion plate" and stressed that we get our nutrients from all food groups and not neglect any.
We should be getting 1,000 mg of calcium a day for pre-menopausal women and 1200 mg for post-menopausal.
We should be getting 1,000 mg of omega 3s a day. Will help brain function, prevent Parkinson's and cardiovascular disease. If you take an Omega 3 supplement, make sure it's "molecularly distilled". She mentioned Nordic Naturals. The ALA in flaxseed is not as effective.
The best vegetables are green and orange.
Make sure your meals have no more than 140 mg of sodium.
Calcium Citrate is the most absorbable form of calcium. She stressed the importance of calcium.
Add nuts to your diet - especially walnuts and almonds.

Good Afternoon :)

Marcy~ Thanks for the healthy eating tips. I do the nuts thing (love nuts) but portion control is hard! I am going to see if I get enough calcium, not sure. Good job on the workout today. 12# for straight arm side lats is great. I was having a hard time with 10's last week. Thanks for the email. Good luck with the house, I hope lowering the price helps. I have a parent in my class who found her dream house in Aug. and put thier house up for sale in Aug. and still no takers! I feel bad for her, getting the dream house is contingent on selling the current one!

Gin~ Good luck with your procedure. I have never heard of that either. Keep us posted. I posted the rotation above for you:)

Tracee~ I know what you mean about the yoga. After lifting, the pace of yoga is slow, and for me, I really need to be in the "yoga" mindset. Cathe did say you could do stretching or pilates, if one of those suits you better....

Deanie

Good Afternoon!

Tracee--I agree with you on the yoga. I enjoyed a live class much more when I belonged to the gym. Now, I have a little of the dread factor and have to make myself do it once a week. Maybe you would prefer a "stretching" tape instead. I am renting a yoga dvd from NetFlix. Can't remember the name, but one I'm sure Marcy has!:) The calf work makes the arches of my feet sore. I think I work my calves a lot when running.

Marcy--The bicycle in LIS core will sometimes bother my back. My DH knows about the healthy benefits of heavier weights. But, I have a guess that he thinks the weights Cathe lift are overkill and should stick with 3,5,and 8's, more like the Firm. He has never said those words, but that would be my guess.
Thank you for the healthy eating tips. I just had some carrots with my lunch!:9 I eat walnuts every day in my oatmeal. I don't usually check for amt of sodium, though.
The Cryo Procedure that I am having done tomorrow involves freezing the top layer of cells of the cervix. My dr. said I had mild dysplasia, which I guess is the very very beginning stage of pre-cancer. The nurse said I would probably have some cramping and I read that you get a very light-headed feeling and then some other unpleasant things afterwards.x(

Deanie--Thank you for the faux rotation. I printed it. Tracee--Are you planning to do this also?

Sorry for the long post!
Gin:)

Hi Again!

Deanie - I have the same contingency problem your friend has. I've seen oodles of dream homes but can't get any till I sell.

Gin - Hope the procedure goes well and everything comes back negative. I only went to live classes about 25 years ago when my ballet teachers held a class. All I remember was it was intense and 3 hours per class which I did about 3x a week. I saw in the Yoga Journal magazine that David Swenson was holding a workshop in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. I've actually been in the complex where it's at. It's called Peddler's Village and it's actually a really nice shopping complex and the yoga studio is part of it. It's actually being held this week. This is something I would have loved to have gone to. I'm sure it would've been awesome. Out of all the yoga practices I have, I think David wins hands down.

So are any of you ordering Cathe's calendar? I wish she would come out with a diary type of calendar so I would have more room for all my notes.

Marcy

Marcy~ I've been to Peddlers Village!!!!Cute shops and area. Its like a smaller New Hope! I agree with you about David Swenson. I am not getting Cathes calendar. I get plenty of free ones and to me they're all the same.

Gin~ I hope all goes well tomorrow.

Hi Tracee!

Deanie

hi again. Some days you guys really get on a roll with the talking and other days, nothing. I can hardly keep up. :)

Gin - I thought I had a similar procedure done recently until you described yours. I had a couple of abnormal pap smears also and went in for a more extensive exam. No freezing though, just more scraping of any weird looking cells. Mine came back negative so I hope yours does too. My doctor was surprised that I had had abnormal pap smears and thinks that it may be the medicine I take for my Sjogrens syndrom that is throwing the test off. Good luck with yours and I hope your side effects afterwards aren't too bad.

Yes, I will probably try to stick with the faux x with you guys. I'd love to find the real x at a bargain price like Deanie did but I just don't spend much time on ebay these days.

Marcy - good job on the weights today. Good luck with the house. I would love to move too but won't even consider it with the way things are going in the market. We'd lose too much money.

My older ds is going to start a strength and conditioning class tonight. It is offered through his school and they are going to teach the kids proper form and light lifting techniques. I think they'll also learn good exercises for certain sports, etc. He gets to go 2 nights a week until the spring so I hope he likes it.

Have a good night.

Tracee

Hi Again!

Tracee - I'm always on ebay so I'll let you know if I come across any good deals. That sounds great about your DS' strength class. Schools don't really offer too much of that these days. I hope he likes it. Things are getting so expensive in NY, I feel like it's a losing battle staying here any longer. I've been looking at houses all day just to see what the least expensive house we can get is with all the things we want and then we'll see how far we can lower the price on our house.
