Good Morning Everyone! :)

Today was S&H Chest and Back. I had a really good workout and enjoyed it. I love S&H. You really do need to be in the right frame of mind for it, and today I was "in the zone". Stats in a minute. I upped all my weights but the chest flys(reg and incline) and the pullover.

Reveiw of the new dvds: I really liked the cardio, although bootcamp does use alot of space (and scared me~ in a good way), and I'm going to have to figure out how to use my space. I think I will be okay since I'm in the basement, but I have carpet and moving my step back and forth may be a pain. I didn't watch the weight work, except for bi, and tri. I figure I will be able to pick up on that easily. Maybe we can work some cardio in from the new series in the next 2 weeks? PS~ I did pretty much watch in fast forward mode!

Stats:
chest press: all 3 sets: 30#
chest flys: all 3 sets: 20#
incline bench: 30#/3, 25#/8 for the last 2 sets
incline fly: 20# first set, 15# second set (I think in the future I will stay with 15#, I think I had better form and felt it more!)
pushups: all on toes, but more in a 3down, 5 up way!

back:
db row: 17#/8, 20#/8, 20#/6reps
pullover: 20# all 3 sets (also felt it in my tri~ do any of you all?)
deadlifts: 30# first set, 27# 2nd set, 25# last set.
again loved the abs, forgot about supline planks!!! arms were shaking by the end, but completed them!

Marcy~ waiting to hear your input on the new dvds. I thought they would be more using 3 sets of 8, but fast forwarding thru, it didn't look like it...

Gin/Tracee~ HOpe you guys had a great workout today!

Good Morning!

Today was heavy on the cardio!!}( }( }( I ran and then did IMAX3. My HR went up to 180 during the intervals....YIKES! Not sure that is a good thing. HRM says I burned 728 calories. I am a sweaty mess and need to cool down before taking a shower!
I read about somebody on vf whose dog got to the new Cathe dvds before she did and chomped into one and ruined it.

Deanie--Glad you got your new dvds! I think mine are coming tomorrrow. Let me know if you think you are doing some of the new workouts in the next 2 weeks.

Marcy--Have you had a chance to look at your yet? How was dancing?

Marcy and Tracee--I was surprised that Mark wasn't even in the bottom 2 last night!

Tracee--When will you get your dvds?

Good morning ladies.

Today was KPC for me. I did a short premix but it was just enough for me. I also did the abs and I think it was the first time that I've done all of the pikes and knee roll ins. My wrists usually give out after 6.

Deanie - thanks for the reviews. I'm not sure if I'll have time to look at mine tonight or not. I am still amazed at your weights on chest.

Marcy - can't wait for your review too. Did you get to review them last night?

Gin - You are a cardio machine. You make me tired just thinking about doing all of that.

DWTS - I was stunned that Mark wasn't in the bottom two and am wondering if he has lots of support or if it's one of those scams like on American Idol where there is a website trying to keep the worst contestant on the show. ??? Do you think the professionals get mad when they find out who they are paired with? I was thinking some of the women are pretty competitive and would get mad if they didn't have someone with at least a little bit of potential.

Hi Ladies!

Warning: This will be a long post! This morning was S&H Chest & Back. I was going to do Bis & Tris but my bis were too sore from yesterday. I had a good workout. Here are my stats:

Bench Press - Set 1 - 23#, Set 2 - 25#, 6 reps (up 2#), Set 3 - 23# (up 4#)
Flys - All sets 19#, 8 reps (up 4# on sets 2&3)
Incline Bench Press - All sets 19#, 6 reps (up 4#)
Incline Flys - All sets 19#, 6 reps (up 4# on set 1 and up 6# on sets 2&3)
Did all pushups
Dbbl Row - All sets 19#, 8 reps (up 4# on set 1 and up 3# on set 2, didn't do 3rd set last week - put in pullups/chinups instead)
Pullovers - Set 1 - 23# (up 4#), Set 2 - 26# (up 3#), Set 3 - 29# (up 6#) - did 8 reps in each set
Deadlifts - Sets 1&2 - 25#, 8 reps, Set 3 - 23# (same as last week)
Held all planks for the whole time:)
Did today's workout in 9 mins. less time than last week.

I managed to preview Kickbox, Boot Camp and Bis & Tris.
She did Bis & Tris in 4 rounds.
Round 1 - Dips
Seated Tricep Extensions in pyramid style:
15# - 12 reps, 20# - 10 reps, 25# - 8 reps, 30# - 6 reps
Bis -
Hammer Curl with a Twist - 10#, 12 reps; 12#, 10 reps
Traditional Curl - 15#, 8 reps; 20#, 6 reps

Round 2
Tris
Lying Tricep Extensions (2-6 count)
35# barbell, 8 reps; 8# dbbls, 8 reps 2-2 count; 3 partial sets (go down, then bring them halfway up 3x, then all the way up
Bis
Crazy 8s with 35# bbl - 8 reps 2-2 count, 8 reps from bottom to halfway up, 8 reps to top and then a slow 8 count all the way down.
Reverse Curls - 12#, 10 reps

Round 3
Tris
Dips with feet on ball and butt on step
Pushups with hands on high step
Bis
Seated Incline Hammer Curls with a Twist laying on ball - 12#, 12 reps
Double Arm Seated Hammer Curl sitting up on ball

Round 4
Tris
With Band - 1 arm press down - hold band across chest and pull down to leg (I think it was 12 reps) Pulses of 7 for 4 sets
With the same hand that was pressing down, that hand will be doing kickbacks, other foot stands on band, 2 sets of 7 count pulses; repeat on other side
Bis
Hanging Concentration Curls (tabletop position, one hand resting on step) - 20# dbbl, 12 reps
Wrist Curls - 10#, 16 reps

Whew! I think I covered it all. I think this looked like a good workout although I'm surprised she's still doing 12 reps although I like the pyramid down from 12-6 reps. It is heavy weight training but I also thought it was going to be more like S&H and it seems to be a little more like Gym Styles.

Bootcamp:

Shuffle Jumps
Power-ups on step and run around step
Lateral Skaters (she puts weights down, 2 are about 3 feet apart and then 3 more about 2" apart), you skate wider each time
Straddle shuffle with step (vertical) - fast feet shuffles and travel forward with straddle shuffles
Lateral jumps
Running Suicides - Put weights at other end of the room and run to get weights and bring them back to starting point (work at own speed)
Recovery Run - Run with 4 high knees and turn, go back other way
Lateral Suicides - Low shuffle touch and then shuffle back other way (work at own speed)
Band hops - Place band on floor and jump front, back, front, front and back, front, back, back and turn
Butt kicks (these looked like fun - these were in the clip) - stay on inside of step with hands on step and jump back and forth over step
Zig-zag jumps - zig zag through your weights and turn
Drop pushups - Run wide (like football drill) and then drop down for two wide pushups (I don't remember how many times this was done)

I liked Kickbox and Boot Camp, both fast-paced with techno music. I like the butt kicks in Boot Camp.

Deanie - I love S&H too. It really works well for me. Your weights amaze me as well. You're like Superwoman! My pushups were kind of like your count. I actually only felt the pullovers in my lats. When I sit up, I feel it in my tris.

Gin - You must be exhausted after all that cardio. I crown you Cardio Queen for today:p I read about the dog incident too. I felt so bad. Dancing was good. It was a different place than I normally go to and people I hadn't seen in awhile told me how great I looked. I normally don't like going there because the floor is too slippery but I kept my regular sneakers on last night (which I never do, I usually wear dance sneakers) and I was fine. I was also surprised Mark wasn't in the bottom two. He has been improving. I was shocked Mel was in the bottom two. I don't know what people were thinking.

Tracee - Great work on the pikes and roll-ins:p I haven't heard of any "vote for the worst" websites when it comes to DWTS. I think it's more fair the way DWTS voting goes because it's half judges and half the public. That's an interesting question about the pairing. I wonder. I'm sure Cheryl knew she wasn't going to win with Wayne and I don't think Edyta thought she was going to win with George Hamilton but someone has to get them and I guess they just make the best of it.

Sorry for the long post but I hope you liked the reviews. There were reviews of High Intensity Step and Low Intensity Step over on OD and they sounded pretty good too.

Good Afternoon

Gin~ you are the cardio queen!! I am tired just from hearing you ran BEFORE Imax 3!! I was thinking of maybe adding bootcamp in week 3 on Sunday instead of Imax 2. And in week 4 on Thursday instead of biking to do kickbox. Also we could pick a 60 min. step day and do both HIS and LIS. I think I would like to do the cardio one time before the rotation. What are you going to do next week? Do you want to do PS again?

Marcy~ Your weights today were impressive! Thanks for printing up your reviews of the new workouts. I am going to print them out and make up sheets to write my weights in. I am so surprised you thought the new workouts were going to be like S&H too!! I had written that in my post this morning and then erased it!!! I also thought they were going to be 8-10 reps with a heavy weight!!! At first I was dissappointed, but I think the rounds and pyramids will be good too!

Tracee~ I hope you get a chance to preview the new workouts tonight!! Great job on the KPC abs!

Can I help it if I am jealous of all of you girls for getting your new Cathes before me?? That's what I get for living so far from NJ!
;-) A friend of mine wants to borrow my B&G and 1 step workout to test Cathe. I'm skeeeered to do it, but she's also a neighbor, so I know where she lives.:7

Tracee--WTG with all of the pikes and knee roll-ins! Don't you feel so accomplished? I have also wondered how the DWTS partners are paired up.

Marcy--Thanks for typing out the new format. Plan to print and save. You are the best with all of the info. And thank you for my crowning!

Hi Again!

Gin - I know it's a friend and all, but does she happen to have Fit TV? I would so hate to part with any of my workouts. Maybe you could do a workout together. You had to remind me about the hair. Usually my DH doesn't say anything, but he said he noticed a lot more greys coming through. Highlights are calling my name. I feel like I'm doing well with S&H and now I don't know if I want to do PS next week. I might stick with S&H too. I'd like to do P90X too but I don't think I could do them for only a week. And then there's my beloved Cathe, do I do them for the final two weeks or wait for a November rotation? I don't know what to do (throws hands up in air). Amys and Traceys are coming next. Oh my!

Gin~ enjoy getting your hair colored!! I don't blame you for being "skeeeered" to let your friend borrow your Cathes!!:) I am crossing my fingers you get the new dvds tomorrow!

Marcy~ I will do the P90X with you!! But I want to do my new Cathes first. I am thinking of ordering only the workouts and not the cardio/yoga. I have to call. I am going to follow Cathes November rotation. (I was actually thinking of doing the X in March, that way I'm "buff" :) LOL :) for the summer!) I really like doing heavy weight and less reps.

Hi Again!

Deanie - I think I mentioned this before but there is no need to get Yoga X or Cardio X (this is just a fusion of Plyo X, Kenpo X, yoga and, I think stretch). Ab Ripper X is on the other strength workouts so no need to get that one either. Legs & Back is non-weighted so I don't know if you want that one but it is a good workout. The back portion on that one is only chinups/pullups. My whole body is really aching - back, neck, shoulders, legs. I will definitely be doing yoga tomorrow. I have two VHS - one for neck pain and tight shoulders and one for back pain and tight hips - I might wind up doing each of them although I'm really enjoying Shiva Rea right now. I lost 3# since starting this rotation and I think all the ab work is really helping.

I've already asked if she has FitTV...nope! I'm just going to think positively. Why is that so many people don't return things? I have let others borrow books, tapes (not Cathe) and all sorts of other things and MOST of the time I never get it back!! I really think of these people as being responsible. WHY?

Marcy~ I would still get legs and back, just not the cardio. You, and others on the forum, have said you don't really need yoga x or cardio x, I'm fine subbing in Cathe. Besides I think I would have withdraw if I didn't do a Cathe once a week!!:) I hope the yoga works for you and you feel better. Good job with the 3#s :) I really like the rotation also and have been noticing a difference~ I really think its the combo of last months massive cardio and then going right to S&H. I like it!

Gin~ How'd your hair come out? I thought you were going out to get it done!:)

Gin - How about if you give it to her and say you need it back on __ day because you have to do it in a rotation? If she doesn't bring it back by the day before, go knock on her door. Hope your hair turns out great. I'm too chicken to do a whole new color on my hair. Hope you get the DVDs real soon.

Gin - I also color my hair myself to hide the greys but the last time I did it, it didn't seem to last very long. I'm cheap and I don't want to spend all the money on getting it done professionally. I hope yours turned out the way you wanted.

Deanie - I like your ideas of getting all 4 cardios into this rotation. I will definitely be trying them out. It will be the only thing to get me excited about doing cardio.

Marcy - thanks for writing out all that info on the new workouts. You're awesome.

I was also thinking the new workouts were going to be more heavy weights and less reps. Doesn't she use a 60lb barbell in one of the workouts? I sure hope she isn't doing high reps with that!!

Glad you could join us again! I'm cheap too! That's why I've waited so long to get my hair done. I also tried to highlight myself but there weren't enough holes in the cap so it didn't come out that great. I do cut my own hair though and sometimes do my own nails. But you have to get pampered once in a while. I think the 62# barbell is used for rows in the Chest & Back workout (Higher Intensity Step?). I hope it isn't more than 8 reps because I don't think I could manage that. I'll try and see if I can preview more tonight. Can you tell I just love to type?;) Glad you got your delivery. Happy previewing!:)

Sun: Boot camp from 4 day split plus Segment three Core Max



WEEK FOUR

Mon: Off

Tues: PS Back and, Biceps

Wed: PS legs and abs

Thurs: Kickbox from 4 day split series

Fri: PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps plus Butts and Guts stability ball abs only

Sat: 60 minute step workout: combine HIS and LIS

Sun: 30 minute interval treadmill or outdoor interval run plus 10 minute abs from Ab Hits plus 10 minute stretching

Personally, I just wanted to do the new cardios once before the November rotation.
