Good Morning Girls :)

Today was LIS/HIS. In the beginging I was tired, but half way thru I got a burst of energy and really enjoyed it.

Gin~ What did you do today?

Marcy~ Did you do the X or a different cardio? What would be a good sub for Plyo X? Low Max? Just incase I want to change things up for weeks 5-7. How'd you sleep last night?

Today was Supersets. Ouchie on the one legged squats and the explosive lunges!x( The rest of it was good.
Today is my last day of school and then off for 2 1/2 weeks...Yeah!
I got my new Cathe calendar in the mail yesterday. Looks great! Did you guys order one?
Haircut after school today. I've been trying to grow it out, but it's tough to know if I'm too old to grow it a little longer.:eek: I need an honest opinion.

Deanie--Glad that burst of energy came through for you with LIS/HIS!:) I will be going to stay with my nephews for 4 days after Christmas and already thinking what workouts I can do there. They have FitTV and I saw that Low Max is on. Could I do that without a step? Is it worth it? Or just take a kickbox dvd?

Marcy--What cardio did you do today? How many new workout dvds do you have that you haven't tried? Hope you slept better last night.

Tracee--Sure hope you haven't given up on us completely!! We miss you!

Good Morning DGT!

I'm so mad. I just finished typing my post and it accidentally got deleted. I don't know what key I pressed but it just jumped off the screenx( . Anyway, here I go again.

I did Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Dome Challenge (just the hi/lo portion). It was fun, not too intense and my brain didn't have to think too much which was fine since I'm still sick. I burned 383 calories.

I got up a couple of times last night but my itching has subsided a lot so I'm doing better.

Deanie - Glad you were able to get through LIS/HIS. I really have to try that premix soon except you know I don't like to stay with one workout for too long. I think you could sub Low Max for Plyo X. How about trying a mish mosh of MIC hi/lo and SJP hi/lo?

Gin - I saw your post last night. That's great your DS is willing to try something new. Enjoy your vacation. I didn't order a new Cathe calendar for this year. It doesn't give me room to record everything I like so I got something like a two page a day Daytimer. Last year's was really nice and I'm sure she did just as good a job on it this year. You could do Low Max on the floor but I would take a kickboxing DVD anyway.

I don't see anything wrong with growing your hair out. If you're happy with it and it looks good, why not? Mine is still long (about halfway down my back) and I don't plan on cutting it short anytime soon. There's a woman at work who's 55 and has hair down to her backside and I think it looks great on her.

I don't know how many new workouts I have yet to do. There's Tracey's new series (High Intensity Step Mix 2, Glute Camp, Strictly Upper Body and Total Body) and the rest of Amy's Slo Mo Challenge (I did legs already) and the BOSU part of today's workout. I also have quite a few yoga DVDs to get through Erich Schiffmann's Inversions and Backbends; Budokon (Strength & Balance, Power & Agility, Flow & Flexibility - they're kind of like martial arts mixed in with yoga) and Peter Sterios' Gravity and Grace.

Gin~ I agree with Marcy. If you like your hair longer and it looks good, then keep it long! Mine is long also- plus I think longer hair makes you look younger;-) Let us know what you decided. Enjoy your vacation! I would go with the kickbox if I were you. I think you'd be bored with the low max not on a step(and it would feel weird). funny we both asked about low max today:) I didn't get the Cathe calendar- I get so many for free it seems silly to buy one.

Marcy~ Sorry about your lost post! I'm glad your doing better with the sleeping/itching. I'm not sure if I am going to sub, but if I do, I would like to go with the best sub possible. What do you think that is? I like the MIC hi/lo, but I'm not a fan of the SJP hi/lo, and don't think I could do that for 3 weeks straight. What if I did BC from 4DS and DM cardio only and on kickbox day, do 4DS kickbox and CTX kickbox? Okay, rambling now, what do you think is the best sub, since you have the plyo x? Is an interval best?.... I've wanted to try Budokon. Have you yet? Let me know what you think. It looks good, but I'm not sure how much is out there for that type of excersise (what I mean is, is it all beginer level, and what happens when you become intermediate?)

Hi Again!

Deanie - The BC/DM thing sounds good. Plyo X is interval training. He does 3 exercises for 30 seconds and one longer exercise for a minute. Then he does another about 3 or 4 more sets like this but with different exercises. You could also do the timesaver cardio premix from Body Max 2:

Timesaver Cardio 43 minutes

Warm up
Bonus cardio
Repeat bonus cardio
Power circuit #1 (step & blast)
Power circuit #2 (step & blast)
Power circuit #3 (step & blast)
Power circuit #4 (step & blast)
Stretch

FYI, Plyo X is about an hour. You could also do the All Step Cardio Premix from Cardio Fusion:

All Step Cardio 48 minutes

BM2 warm up
BM2 bonus cardio
LIC bonus cardio
BM2 power circuits (cardio no weights)
BM2 stretch

The 3 Budokons I got are the newer ones which are, I think, intermediate or advanced. There is a beginner set as well but you know me, I want the challenge. I got mine at Deep Discount during their sale so they were only about $12 a piece. Usually they're $15.22 there. The instructor is Cameron Shayne. I just went to the website and the ones I got are listed as intermediate. If you go to budokon.com, they have short clips.

Gin - So, did you get a new hairstyle, cut it short, left it long? I'll be getting mine cut on Thurs. or Fri. I decided to go with layers on the top and sides and am leaving it long in the back.

Hi Again!

I just had my hair trimmed, nothing drastic. It seems to grow so slowly!
The parents in my class gave me a $200. Am Express g.c. with strict instructions to spend it on myself!;-) Hope I can convince my DH of that when he wants to swoop it up to pay bills.x(
Have you guys seen the "Travellin' Band Curcuit" workout that someone posted? I printed it and may do that one day when in Houston. I'm sure you guys are right that Low Max without a step would drive me CRAZY!:p

Hi Again!

Gin - Repeat after me: I must spend it on MYSELF! If I were you, I'd save it for STS. I'll have to go check out the Band thread. Yes, I did have a better night's sleep. Tonight is my firm's holiday party so I'll hopefully dance off a few calories and sleep like a baby tonight.

My next girls night out is being scheduled. It's going to be a night of socializing, drinks and a belly dance class. I better start doing some more Shimmy workouts from Fit TV!
