Good Morning Girls :)

Today I almost slept in!!! What a whirlwind weekend! Alot of driving and alot of partying! Anyway I got out of bed at 6 and was just going to do weight work, but ended up after the weight work, running up to DSs bedroom, waking him up, and running back down to do the cardio, cooldown and stretch, then we threw on clothes, ate, and got out the door on time!! Love that boy!:)

I had a great workout, I did HIS, and upped some weights:
round 1
one arm row DB:32# (same as last week)
round 2
underhand row: 70# all reps, both sets:) (up 5# from last week)
chest flys: 25# all reps both sets(up 3# from last week)
round 3
back one arm row wide fly: 25#(up 5# from last week)
chest incline press: 30# (I don't think I can go higher with DB with this)

A great workout, I wonder if the later time makes a difference.

eta: forgot the most exciting part of the weekend~my brother had a 7'stand with a chinup/pull up bar on it. I did 5!!!!chin ups. I did 3, called my dh over to watch me, and did 2 more:7 :7 I did use a bar at the bottom to help lift me up the first time, I couldnt do it just from hanging, but still..... I am so psyched for the X:) which by the way, I got 3 of my dvds in the mail on fri:)

Missed you guys aver the weekend!
No workout for me today. I have been feeling quite puny for the past several days.x( I am going to stop taking the daily migraine preventative that the dr. has me on. I feel awful....can't sleep, dizzy, no energy, when I TRY to exercise my HR is sky high. Then my back started to hurt. My lower back will hurt off and on. I took 2 muscle relaxants on Sat. and that was a big mistake. Felt worse and stayed in bed all weekend. Thank you for letting me vent. I think sometimes you don't appreciate your good health until you don't have it! The good news is no headaches in the past week and I don't have school all week.

Deanie--Sounds like you had a great weekend. WTG on the great workout this morning and WTG with the chin ups. You are now our CHIN UP QUEEN!!:7 We want to see pictures!

Hi Marcy and Tracee--Hope you guys are doing well!

I'm trying to get up enough strength to go to the store. Sad, isn't it?:eek: My current diet is..."There is no food in the house diet"!! My parents and DS#2 come tomorrow for 4 days and I need to have somethng for them to eat!

Today was HIS/Chest & Back. I finally did the whole workout at once. I can't decide if LIS or HIS is my favorite workout. I did okay with the 3rd combo of HIS but the 3rd blast still trips me up a little. Here are my stats for today:

One Arm Rows - warmup - 13#; regular - 33#
Underhand Rows - 66# both sets but will try to go to 70# next week
Chest Flys - 23# (12 reps on both sets) only did 8 reps last week on set 1
Wide Flye One Arm Rows - 25# (up 2# from last week)
Incline Pullovers - 25# (up 2# from last week)
Incline Press - 25#

Deanie - WTG on 5 chinups!:) I was only up to 2 in a row at the end of the X. You're uber strong but I'm not surprised. Congrats on getting the DVDs. Did you preview them yet? Any possibility you want to start the X in December? I just saw the infomercial again last night and I'm kind of getting psyched up for it. An e-mail was sent to someone regarding the new P90X+ workouts. Here's a short preview:

Interval X Plus - has 3 speeds, recovery, medium and full-out, creating more dramatic change in the shortest period of time (40 mins.)

Kenpo Cardio Plus - Advanced level Kenpo, with new moves, will shred the most stubborn layer of fat with an all-out self-defense workout that builds stamina, balance an agility (40 mins.)

Upper Plus - Monster upper body workout will defy the plateau phenomenon by blasting all the muscles from hips on up (everything except abs) in a complete synergistic P90X way. After this one, you won't be able to pick up a ping pong paddle for a couple of hours. (45 mins.)

Total Body Plus - By adding new synergistic moves, your muscles get pumped, then recuperate in stages until you've got nothing left. An unprecedented total body phenomenon. (45 mins.)

Abs/Core Plus - Advanced new ab/core workout adds 4 different positions (hanging, sitting, standing, and plank positions) to intensify your ab work and shred your midsection even faster. Is a ten-pack even possible? You'll find out. (20 mins.)

Gin - I saw on another thread today was a rest day and you were going to stop your meds. I hope you will start feeling better soon. Any more interest in the X?

Gin~ I'm glad you had no headaches this past week!:) :) You were smart to take today off, your body prob. needs it. Are you getting the X? It would be great if you did.:)I do have pictures from this weekend, but none really "showing" my body. I tend to wear loose clothing, and I rarely wear something that "fits" me. I'm all about comfort:) I will try and send something to you and Marcy.

Marcy~ Great workout today!! I also did 25# for the incliine pullovers, and had a hard time getting my hands around the db. Next time I may change my grip. I got all my P90X dvds now (just got shoulders and arms today) The 3 I ordered from one guy came in colored dvd cases. The one today, came in a jacket with shoulders and arms written on it, but no case. I guess even if they are copies, if they work, I'm okay with it. So far I previewed Chest and back, it worked fine. (and looked challenging!! The girl in there is amazing with all the chinups/pullups she does!)I would soooo be into starting in Dec. I just have to get a pull up bar/or the 7' thing, and I don't think I can get it this week. I will not go to the stores the day after Thanksgiving or this coming weekend, just to hecktic. I will do my best to get it next week if Dec. is a definate. Let me know:) Also, do I have the schedule right?:
day 1: chest and back
day 2: interval
day 3: shoulders, bi, tri
day 4: yoga
day 5: legs (I will be doing L&G)
day 6: kickbox
also, I'm not sure what the rotation is for the rest week. Can you please let me know? Thanks:) do you think L&G is a good sub for the leg workout, or is there a better sub? Are you thinking of getting the X+? The abs sound amazing, I'd love to do some standing ab work.

Deanie - Glad to hear you got all your DVDs. The rest week is as follows:

M - Core Syn
T - Yoga
W - Kenpo (kickbox)
T - Stretch X
F - Core Syn
S - Kenpo

Legs & Back is a non-weighted workout. I think L&G would mostly fit the bill. I'll give you a breakdown of the moves in Legs & Back and then you can see what you want to do:

Jumping Jacks
Balance Lunges (balance back leg on a chair and do lunges with front leg)
Calf Raise squats - I did these with 5# weights (I'll give you more detail on this tomorrow)
Reverse Grip Chinups
Superskaters
Wall squats (are these only in Drill Max or does B&G have these?)
Wide front pullups
Step back lunges (with 5# weights)
Alternating side lunges (with 5# weights)
Close Grip Overhand pullups
Single Leg Wall Squats
Deadlift squats (I think these are one-legged, I have to check)
Switch grip pullups
3 lunge kick (to the front, 45 degress and to the side) I think you do 5 sets to each side - again, I have to check)
Sneaky lunges (these are all done on the toes)
Reverse Grip chinups (shoulder width)
Chair Salutations (2)
Toe Roll ISO lunges (I think 20 each side but will go into more detail tomorrow)
Wide Front pullups
Groucho walk (walk in crouched position)
Calf Raises (5#) these are just like what Cathe does in 4DS (all the same directions)
Close Grip Overhand Pullups
80-20 Speed Squats (will explain more tomorrow)
Switch grip pullups

I was thinking of starting as soon as we're done with this rotation. This way the recovery week is Christmas week and it will be easier for me. Let me know if this works for you.

I really want P90X Plus. I'm going to try and see if there is any price on this yet. They sound really good. I could probably sub the interval and kenpo x workouts for the original ones and maybe sub the total body for Core Syn, use the new ab workouts instead of Ab Ripper X (I hope there are no bicycles in this one!) The only one I can't figure out how to put in the rotation is the upper body workout.

Forgot to say on Sat night, I did Lisa Nunziella's 5-Day Latin System (which I got in a trade). I guess this was instead of HIS from Friday. I've been on the verge of getting a cold and high intensity wasn't in the cards for me this weekend and my asthma was kicking in too. I did the Merengue and the Rumba from these workouts. Turns out the warmup and cooldown are the same for each dance. The warmup is pretty fast-paced. There isn't any breakdown for the dances but there is an extra tutorial section (which I didn't bother to look at). The merengue was fast paced and fun and kept my heartrate at around 72% for the entire time. My hips didn't seem to be moving in the right direction for awhile but they eventually got the hang of it by the end of the workout. (It's real hard going from ballet to merengue!) The rumba was slower paced but still a lot of fun. My HR still got up to about 71% at one point but it was lower than for merengue. There is also cha cha, samba and salsa on this DVD as well. I really liked this DVD and it is definitely one I will keep coming back to. Lisa is full of energy. The actual dance workouts are about 16-22 minutes long with the warmup and cooldown each being 5 minutes.

OKay, I just sent you guys some pictures:)

Marcy~ I just measured and my basement ceiling is only 7'5" from the floor, so the power tower is out.:( Which door gym did you get? I was looking at Creative Fitness Door Gym, at Amazon.com. I am good with starting Dec. 3rd. Is that the date you were looking at? Also, I forgot about legs from the 4DS. Do you think I could do those as a sub?; there is a premix with all legs that includes the calf work. You are very brave to try the X+:) Good luck, I hope you can find it at a price you want!

Okay, I ordered the door gym~ the creative fitness door gym from Karate Depot. It should be delivered by Nov. 27-28. :)

Yes, Dec. 3rd was the date I was looking at. Now that I'm looking, I don't know if I'm going to be ready but I guess I have to take the plunge.

I just looked at the Creative Fitness Door Gym. The one from Karate Depot is $10 cheaper and it looks the same.

I actually think the standing work from B&G is about the best replacement for Legs & Back and then you could just add on calf raises at the end. Just so you know, the order of the workout is 2 leg exercises and then one back exercise.

Marcy~ That is the same one I ordered :) I will think about B&G for legs, but even though I get a burn with it, I think I need the weights for my legs. Also, I just realized, I want to take Sat. off. It is our one sleep late day. so I may start on Sunday Dec. 2, or can I take Sat. off and still start on Monday?
