Good Morning Girls :)

Today was HIS and what a great workout!! I increased my weights and was able to get almost all of the steps for the step work!! Fun!

Stats:

one arm row: 32#
underhand BB row: 65# (could prob. go up, but thats so much weightx(
flys: 22# (up 2#)will do 25# next week
back one arm row DB: 22#(up 2#)
incline pullovers: 20# (up5#) really felt it, a good weight for me!
chest incline press: 30# (this was hard for me today, maybe because it wasn't the first excersise. I actually had to pause the dvd for a few seconds~ which I rarely do!!!!)

Do you guys use this protein powder? I've been back and forth on it for a couple weeks now with all the posts. I would rather eat real food, but maybe I'm not getting enough protein. On lifting days I eat a hand ful of almonds before I lift and Kashi go lean with 13g protein for breakfast after I lift. Any thoughts?

Good morning GMD.

Today was HIS for me too and I did it as is, cardio first. I didn't mind it this way and it made it a little different from last week. I only made a couple of mistakes in the 3rd step routine so I'm improving. I'm so glad she doesn't too much breakdown on this, I'd be bored with it already. I increased the weight where I could but you all know I don't have much room to grow on the weights so I'm limited. I ran out of time at the end otherwise I was going to tack on an ab workout. I didn't do one on the weekend and I wished I would have. Oh well.

Deanie - I occasionally drink protein powder but that's only because I like the taste and it's an easy thing for me to make after a workout. I'm not sure if it's made any difference though.

Marcy/Gin - I hope you gals had a good weekend and a good workout this morning.

Good Morning DMT!

Today no workout for me. Yesterday I did HIS/C&B. (Weights first) I did fine with the weight portion. I cannot lift anything heavier than 17# for chest right now, though. When it cam time for the cardio, I had trouble. My HR went sky high and I did not feel good. Sadly, I was not able to go see my ds on Parent's Weekend.:( :( :( My DH went though. I have had a migraine almost continuously for the last 4 days and am not able to sleep with the new meds. Sat. night I took a sleeping pill and was able to sleep, but did not sleep Th, Fri or Sun night! I've got to get off this new meds, but have to do it slowly.
On a positive note---I have on my smallest pants in my closet and they fit fine!:)

Deanie--Great workout for you! I ordered the protein powder everyone was talking about and I like it. I add it to my morning oatmeal. I don't eat enough meat, so feel like I need more protein. You need half your body weight in gms. and more if you workout.

Tracee--Great workout for you too!

Marcy--Hope you had a good weekend! My ds goes to school in OK and it is just 3 hours away. He'll be home next week for a couple of days during Thanksgiving break.

Good Morning Girls!

I have to play a bit of catch up. Friday night I was a little tight everywhere, so I did Angles, Line & Curves 2. This is my 2nd time doing this workout and I really love it. Yesterday, I finally did HIS. I did have to rewind a couple of times but it wasn't too bad. Actually, the third blast was a little tricky for me. I also did the bonus premix from MTV Pilates Mix which is basically an 11 minute leg workout.

Today was BC/Tris & Bis. I pretty much used the same weights as I did last week except for the dbbl curls, I did 1 rep with 21# and 4 reps with 19#. I'm probably going to use the same weights next week as well unless I try to go heavier and do less reps. Boot Camp was still tough for me. My HR didn't go quite as high as last time so I guess it got easier. The only drill I didn't finish this time was the fast foot repeater drill where she did slap claps at the end. My living room always looks like a tornado hit it after this workout. So much equipment to move around.

Tomorrow will be Kickbox, Legs & Core although I'll probably substitute some different legs but haven't decided what yet.

Deanie - Great workout today! I don't use any protein powder or supplements. I think what you're eating is fine (I eat the same.) Someone over at VF suggested chocolate milk for a recovery drink which is what I've been doing and it works great for me (low fat, of course). I love my meat so I usually don't have a problem with getting enough protein. Maybe have some egg whites as a mid-morning snack.

Tracee - I'm glad for the no breakdown also. In fact, I think she repeats a couple of moves too much in the beginning. I don't need to do a starburst 8x in a row to get the feel for it, 2 or 4 would be enough.

Gin - I'm so sorry you missed your DS but it's good he's coming home for Thanksgiving. Congrats on the small pant size:p At least something's working right. Sounds like the last round of meds was better but not perfect. Are there any more meds for you to try? Hope you get some sleep tonight.

I don't know if I'll get a chance to check back in today. I'm going for a mammogram and sonogram later.

Gin - So sorry to hear that you missed out on parents weekend. I hope there are other medicines for you to try and that you can get some sleep soon. Congrats on the pants fitting you though. :)

Marcy - Good job on the weight work. The third combo and blast are what mixes me up in HIS too but I don't like to rewind so I just have been trying to get better at it each time I do it. I also thought the fast foot repeater drill was tough last week and I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it. I also got dizzy when I was doing the suicide drill last week. I still really like the workout though and am actually looking forward to doing it this week.
