Garmin Forerunner 305 question

Does the 305 give you real-time pace? I was going to get the 305 for Christmas (been tracking it for months), but now I'm wondering if I should save up for the new 210. All I really want is my distance, pace, and heartrate.

Thanks,

Yes. It's AWESOME! I love my 305!!! I really like downloading the data from the workout into the software that comes with it, so I get a graphical representation of my run. That was really fun to see after my 12 mile run last week when I went up this killer hill at mile 5. Fun when you've got the dog with you too and you can see a spike in your pace where the dog sees a squirrel. It tells you your average BPM, Avg pace and speed, max speed, total distance, elevation... really worth the money for anyone who runs or cycles.

Oh, and to your question, it does give you your pace and distance as you're running. Also your time and some other stuff. I don't use all the functionality.

Thank you SO much! You've really helped me. Oh, and congratulations on the "squirrel" workout.:p Is your wrist dislocated from the leash strap?;)

Now, back to playing "chicken" with Amazon--it's down to $128.90. I had hoped it would go down more for Cyber Monday. I missed it when Walmart had it for $99 (out of stock--of course).:(

No, I have one of those leashes that wraps around my waist. Actually helps get a little core work going there. My Aussie is ALL over the place when we go out. He's a complete loon.

I've had a 205 (same as 305, but no heart monitor) and I LOVE it! I don't think I could go for a workout walk anymore without it!

Thanks for your responses. It is especially helpful to hear that you've had yours for some time and that it still works well.

I hear those jingle bells a-ringing.:D

Love, love, love my Garmin 305! The heart rate strap is super comfortable and the
stats you get off this thing are awesome! :)

DH tried to get in on the Walmart deal too but missed it. :(

I have had my 305 for almost four years. About two months after I got it, I was running with my running group and through an almost comical series of circumstances ended up face first on a sidewalk with the fall stopped by the Garmin. I stood up with blood dripping from my chin and mouth, and my sympathetic companions immediately cried out, "Is the watch okay?" And yes, the watch was never as pretty again, but it still works great! I love running with my Garmin.
