I like freedom from headphone wires while working out. I hate getting tangled up in the wires at the gym.
Until recently my best find was the Jaybird Gear Bluetooth headphones. I use them with my ipod. They worked better than anything else I had tried for staying put, being light and comfortable.
I picked up the Sony Walkman W202 today. This is an incredibly well crafted pair of headphones that manages to incorporate an mp3 player in the headphones. The headphones-cum-player is so light, it does not feel any different from normal headphones.
I tried them at the store and jogged around the store and jumped up and down a few times and then violently shook my head in various directions much to the surprise of the salesman and the amusement of the other shoppers. They stayed put. The sound quality beats the Jaybird's bluetooth. They also seem far more comfortable. The fit is far more secure (about not falling out) compared to my jaybird gear which are already a pretty good fit.
The Sony W202 does not have a screen but has a feature called zappin that lets you scroll through your collection to find a particular track. The zappin feature plays a brief snatch of what it thinks is the chorus of each song. This is the only feature that isnt going to work very well if you load up the player with CC volumes and itrain volumes. Finding a specific volume may be time consuming.
I intend to use it exclusively for CC and itrain. I will post an update after I have a chance to actually complete a workout if anyone is gadget-interested.
