Good Morning GMT!

Today I did the premix back and bi from 4DS, it was short so I did it again}( Then I did LIS abs. When I first did the abs from LIS, I wasn't so thrilled, but I did get a good workout from them Monday and today. I think tomorrow I will do KB/BC cardio so I can take the weekend off (DH is off).I followed Cathe for all the weight work (using a BB with 35# and did one set up and down, 8 counts and then crazy 8's was hard- the second time around I used 30#) And I did 22# for the hanging concentration curls.

Today DH is getting 2 estimates for the furnace/air conditioner- wish us luck!

Marcy~ I hope you were able to see your dad and all is okay. I actually thought todays premix was hard. I thought I might be able to pass Cathe with more weight, but I only did more than her with the hanging curls and the bb row for back-70# (but that's what I did before the X)

Gin~ How was PS legs? Did you do the abs on the dvd or a new ab routine?

Hi Tracee!

BBL,
Deanie

PS-I don't know if you all saw my post last night, but I emailed the teacher and said to put DS on the bus from now on, and she just emailed back okay. No sorry or anything! ......I must be PMSing}( :+

Good Morning DMT!

Today I did PS Legs and abs. It's funny that you mentioned the abs, Deanie. While I was doing them, I thought there are probably better ab routines on another dvd. Oh well. PS Legs wasn't too tough, but as usual the floor work had more of an ouch factor!x(
I read the article yesterday about lifting vs. cardio. What do I do?? I really only run 1 or 2 times a week now. Should I just do that and no other cardio each week? Help!:p
After Bible Study this morning I have lunch with a friend and hair cut appt. Love having a day off in the middle of the week. I'm going to ask the girl that cuts my hair if there is another way to wear it for the wedding.

Deanie--Sorry about the mix-up with your ds. YOU are such a considerate person. I know it can be frustrating when others don't do things the way you would. Hopefully she will put him on the bus from now on. Nice to have the bus option. We carpooled for years! Great workout you did with the 4ds BB!Good luck with the furnace/a/c replacement.

Marcy--How is your dad doing? Keep us posted. Yes, I have been taking the cranberry concoction for 3 days now. Really don't see a difference. Did you order STS?

Hi Tracee!

Have a great day!

Hi DGT!

Today was Back & Biceps. I didn't do the strip set curls again because I was bonking and it was getting and I really wanted to get in an ab workout. I get very frustrated with this workout because I can never seem to get ahead with pullups/chinups, I guess because of the other back work in this. The hardest ones are in this workout and I can never seem to do any of them. However, I'm still coming real close on the wide front pullup. Here are my stats:

Lawnmowers: 10 reps @ 37# (same)
21s: 16# (same but it's feeling much better)
1-Arm Cross Body Curls: 8 reps @ 18# (same)
Elbows-Out Lawnmowers: 10 reps @ 37# (up 1 rep)
Standing Bicep Curls: 8 reps @ 21# (up 2#)
1-Arm Concentration curls: 9 reps @ 19# (down 3 reps but I felt my form was better)
Reverse Grip Bent Over Rows: 8 reps @ 31# (same)
Open Arm Curls: 8 reps @ 19# (same)
Static Arm Curls: 16 reps @ 15# (same but felt stronger than last time)
Congdon Locomotives: 40 reps @ 21# (same)
Crouching Cohen Curls: 8 reps @ 19# (up 2 reps)
1-Arm Corkscrew Curls: 8 reps on L and 6 reps on R @ 19# (down 2 on R)
Seated Bent-Over Back Flys: 12 reps @ 21# (up 2#) (will go up next time)
Curl-Up/Hammer Downs: 8 reps @ 16# (up 1 rep)
Hammer Curls: 7 1/2 reps @ 16# (down 1 1/2 reps)
In-Out Hammer Curls: 4 reps @ 16#

I did C&W abs today. This definitely wasn't as hard as it used to be but I was still feeling it and it still felt effective. I love froggy crunches! I definitely felt it when I lifted my legs off the ground.

After looking this over, I really don't feel like I got very far with this workout today but I did go up on a couple of exercises. I'm sleeping much better now but I just totally ran out of steam. Maybe it's all the stress.

Some good news: It looks like my Dad is going home either today or tomorrow at the latest. The antibiotics are doing their job. He sounded much better. I just got off the phone with him. They cancelled the stress test so I guess they feel he's okay for now since he didn't have a heart attack. It's things like this that make me glad I work out and at least try to eat as best I can. The more we take care of ourselves now, the better off we'll be later and avoid all these problems.

Deanie: Sorry about the bus with your DS. I don't blame you for being upset. That happened once with my DD when the bus dropped her off earlier than usual. She was crying on the steps and asking my DH why he wasn't there. He actually got hom earlier than usual but not early enough to meet her. I think the teacher should have apologized. It is always good to have a backup plan. You never know what's going to happen.

Good luck with the furnace/air cond. estimates.

I also did 70# for the bb row before the X. I thought the ab routines on 4DS were pretty good. They reminded me a lot of ARX.

Gin: I started doing less cardio. Since I danced for 3 hours a week, I only did one other cardio during the week. It was hard since I love cardio and feel really good doing it. Occasionally I do more cardio on the weekend but not very often. If you are going to continue to run, I would use lower impact cardio for your other cardio days. I was about to order STS and even called the number because I wanted to make sure they wouldn't mail to my current address and would wait for my new address. She said I would have to email. After thinking about it, I decided I would still wait for the next price increase since I really didn't want to do any further damage to my CC right now.

Hi Tracee!

Marcy

Good Afternoon

Marcy~Great news about your dad:7 :7 I'm glad he's coming home today(or tomorrow).Even though you didn't increase your weights, its still a really good workout. I was surprised today by how many similar excersises the 4DS has to P90X. I didn't have the X before to compare them. I think its easier to get ahead with pullups/chinups in legs and back where you aren't fatiguing other muscles you also use in the pullups.

Gin~ I would just jog for your cardio if you are doing that 2 days a week. Or one day jogging one day step. I think you will see a difference. Enjoy your lunch and haircut.

I think for me, Cathe's 4DS is harder than the X. She uses slower counts so your form needs to be good. Tony alot of the time says speed is your friend, and I think it is if #'s are involved. But Cathe takes things slower and I really have to concentrate on form. Just my .02

Hi Again!

Marcy--Good news about your dad. I hope things continue to improve for him with each day. I sometimes wonder if eating right and exercising each day will help as I get older. I'm hoping so. My sweet parents are in fairly good health for their age (78), but they don't really watch what they eat. Very few f&v, very little water, etc. Not important to them. They aren't overweight b/c they do eat in moderation. And my mother NEVER exercises. She hates it. So now she has NO stamina. She will become winded very easily. I hate that for her! Sorry about the venting here!
C&W is my favorite abs!!:)

Deanie--4ds harder than the X?? Can't be! Lunch was fun. I met with an old friend that I had not seen in a while.

Well, girls.....I WAS planning on MIC tomorrow after walking (weather permitting) but now I don't know. I haven't done MIC in ages, but it is a HR sky-rocketer!!}( Should I do another cardio that will be less intense??? AHHHHH!!!:p
Gin:)

Gin~ yes, you "heard" me right!--> harder than the X. For me. For example, I can bang out 40 standard pushups because I am going fast (i.e. speed is your friend as Tony says) but on the chest work on monday I was really working doing them at Cathe's slower speed and then doing the top half ones and then the bottom half. also Cathe does the curls with a twist for the biceps: she starts with 10# for 12 reps, 12# for 10 reps, 15# for 8 reps and 20# for 6 reps. This was harder for me than doing 8-10 reps of the same excersise at 20# with Tony. By the time I got to 20# with Cathe, I felt that was a bigger accomplishment because my bicep was already feeling it. With Tony I did the bicep excersise called 21s with 17#, yet when I did the similar excersise with Cathe (crazy 8's) with a 35#bb, man it was Hard!!}( Just my take.....

If you are just walking tomorrow, MIC should be okay. Maybe just do the step part....
