Funny joke if you are not an Ohio State fan...

Yeah - my husband is NOT going to be very happy to read that joke! He was really upset last night that they lost so bad...

BUT I WILL SHOW IT TO HIM ANYWAY! HA!

(can you tell I am NOT a football fan??? I'm a meanie!)

I also pulled so hard for the Gators!! DANG it!! That was an excellent game though!!

GA dang sure showed Hawaii too!! LOL

WOOOOO HOOOOOO >>>>> Way to go SEC!!!!!!!:D :7 :7

As a Buckeye and a native Columbusian the atmosphere HERE is not what you all would expect. The general consensus is that New Orleans needed a break. Even on the local news all anyone could talk about was how nice the people in New Orleans were and how concerned the locals were that Buckeye visitors were having a good time (and they WERE!). The local news mostly reported on how so many people in New Orleans STILL are homeless after Katrina. THAT upset Buckeye fans a whole lot more than the LSU victory. In the face of great tragedy and sadness losing a football game is nothing. Believe me, we ARE Buckeyes and we love our team but it was kind of sweet watching the happy LSU team and fans. Also, nobody here really thought a team as young as this Buckeye team had a chance. Most of us were shocked they got as far as they did so we weren't surprised. I was thinking how odd it was nobody seemed all that excited about the game BEFORE it happened.

Do you all remember that idiot midwestern preacher who, right after Katrina, outraged the whole nation with that stupid sign he hung in front of his church that read something to the effect of "Katrina is God's punishment on New Orleans"? I was wondering what that guy was thinking after LSU won the National Championship. God changed his mind :)?

I agree wholeheartedly, Siren. As a fellow Ohioan, OSU alum and loyal buckeye fan and follower, I was really happy we made it as far as we did. Yes, I was disappointed, but not nearly as badly as last year. That took me literally months to get over (yeah, stupid, I know, but what else do we Ohioans have? :)) LSU played a better game. We were just happy to be there since this was supposed to be a "rebuilding" year.

My poor DH, born and lived in OH his whole life has had SO many disappointments with OH teams unfortunately. We've seen the Indians World Series heartbreak, the Cavs heartbreak, Browns didn't make the playoffs, and now the Buckeyes two years in a row. But, you know what, they are good teams and we watch good games when they play.

And, really, in the whole scheme of things, it's all pretty minor and petty when compared to what LA went through and are STILL going through after Katrina.

So, bring on the jokes, we can take them.

Holding my buckeye head up proud!

ahhh considering I am a Clemson fan, that joke could go for Clemson as well. Matter of fact, ACC in general did not do well in Bowl Games, whereas SEC did. I like SEC schools so I pulled for LSU plus my neighbor is a major LSU fan. Go Tigers, at least one Tiger one besides Auburn.

Yep GA Dawgs are right up there all right! I still feel that Hawaii should have played an ACC school though. Oh by the way the Athletic Director for Hawaii got fired because he did not keep the head coach from Hawaii, who has decided to take up coaching at another school.

College football has more plots than a soap opera.

I still feel that USC should have gone to a Bowl game but after looking at the AL and Colorado game, with Colorado winning I am glad USC didn't. They would have been slaughtered.

Whatever will I do with my time now that College Football season is over with

:)

E. Gordon Gee (Ohio State President) said he'd fight any attempt at turning the Championship into a playoff but he's wrong. He's a university president and these things bring in A LOT of money so I get HIS point. But I'm not him. I want to know who REALLY is the best. I keep thinking about Appalachian State whipping Michigan and I wonder just how many Appalachian State's are out there. I'm OSU alum also so I'll die a Buckeye but it would be so much fun for some of these little schools with players nobody's ever heard of to come in and whip some big conference butt. The whole David & Goliath thing. And it would give some of the players at small schools a real shot at the NFL. Unfortunately, the big schools will pull out all the stops to keep that from EVER happening. Ohio State is BEYOND POWERFUL here. They're the reason we'll never have the NFL in Columbus. Sometimes, I get a little tired of their power. Between Ohio State and Les Wexner (owner of Victoria's Secret) it's nearly impossible to get anything in Columbus Ohio. If either of them are against it it's nearly always an automatic veto.

Booooooooo!
Actually, me being an OSU grad need some pot right now to take away the pain of another bust!!! LOL!!!

good joke!

That's a funny joke, but I've always been a Buckeye fan and I'll always BE a Buckeye fan. NO MATTER WHAT. :)

That sounds like AD for USC-Carolina a few years ago. When they were seeking info for a new team, McGee said no because it would take away from USC football, thus Charlotte got the franchise. But Carolina Panthers (the old name for USC before they became Gamecocks) pratice in upstate SC.

Last year my school and alum (Newberry College) had a undefeated with the exception of PC Presbyterian College and played 2 playoff games. NC had the best stats in the state and I think if they were in SEC and/or ACC beat those as well. And guess what none of those players were recurrited by either USC or Clemson.

Yep college football money does talk. But Newberry has had a few to go to NFL, justice serve. I still love my Clemson Tigers though. But I think Cathe needs to teach them a thing or two, perhaps they will perform better on the field. Just a suggestion....as Cathe would say.
