Freestyle Question for the experts

Quick question. I have George Synder's book and have been using it and seeing some results. I know he is all about lunges which I do, but my question is he does not talk about static lunges. I do 3 sets of 20 for my 5 exercise and one set of all the lunges in static mode if you will. I feel so much more burn doing them the static way. I was wondering if it might be because doing static lunges probably do not get your heart rate up like doing them the other way. Any thoughts?

My thoughts of this, as one who is not an "expert" but rather uses the method and has seen it work, is that any and all lunges are good! I'd say go ahead and do them, but be sure to do lots of other varieties, expecially walking lunges.
Just Do It! :)

My guess is that the static lunges require a lot less balance skill while the ones where you step forward or back each rep requires your leg muscles (and core) to work on balancing as well as performing the lunge itself.

Cinnamon...I agree with both Honeybunch and Sarah!!! I only do static lunges if I am doing a Cathe workout that has them in it. If I am just doing freestyle exercises from the book, then I do the various lunges in there instead of the static ones....:)...Carole
