Wow, I love this website!
Has anyone heard of this? I have been trying to get rid of my hammock for months now (I just moved and no longer have the yard space for it) and my sister recommended that I post it on freecycle.org. Well, I went and posted it this morning and literally five minutes later I had 8 replies from people in my area!!! The stupid hammock will be out of my garage by tomorrow!

Everything is free--no monetary actions can be exchanged and people have to come pick it up from you. It's just like Craigslist.org but everything's free. Now I don't have to worry about taking it to the dump and crowding up our landfills. Yay!!!

Allison, I hadn't heard of this. I am so excited to try it out though. Since we moved in May too we have a lot of cr@p lying around and it would be great to get rid of it. Just off the top of my head, I am thinking fondue set, cappuccino machine, christmas decorations, vacuum...

Wow, I have a lot of junk.

Um, Karin....I'll take all of those things you mentioned!!
Whoa is me. :( If only I lived even remotely close to you....

Wow, I did make them sound good huh. Here's the scoop on them. The cappuccino machine is a cheapo $50 one that burns the milk everytime you use it. The vacuum self-propelling mechanism doesn't work and it is so hard to push just to vacuum a 5x7 rug. Also, it weighs 25 lbs. Who needs Cathe when you have this :p

I joined my local freecycle group (which works through a yahoo group). So far all I've done is get rid of some old workout videos on VHS, but I keep meaning to post some other stuff or find something I want.
