Freddy Shoes sizing

I've read all the posts here about shoes, including the long one about the Freddy shoes. I currently have Rykas, but just feel that they are OK and not really great as far as comfort and fit. I have a small foot that is narrow in the heel and wide in front and on my right foot, my middle toe keeps falling asleep, no matter how much I loosen the laces. I've never had this problem before, so I'm assumng it's the shoes. Anyway, I'm considering trying a pair of Freddy High Impact Pro Trainers, but am unsure about what size to order, since I've heard that they run large. Most of my regular everyday shoes are a 6, but in Ryka's, I needed a 6.5. Should I order the Freddy's in a 5.5 or a 6?

Also, with the Ryka's, any motion that requires a big bend in the toe area of the shoes (like the back leg in a lunge), the shoe hurts my foot on top and I thought it might be the top seams. How are the Freddy's on the top inside? Any padding?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Cheryl!

I am the very proud owner of a pair of Freddy shoes; I ordered the Hi Impact Pro Trainers from US Bodyware (www.usbodyware.com) last September. I also had had Rykas the last several aerobic shoes but got annoyed as it seemed they changed the sizing on me - a pair I bought didn't fit at all and they were the same size as I always have gotten! I normally wear between 8.5 - 9.0 and a size 8 in Freddy's fit me perfectly. 8 is generally too small for me in other shoe but I got the 8.5 Freddy's and they were too big.

I don't think there is any extra padding on the top inside - no more so than regular shoes. I will say that these took a little getting used to but I LOVE them now. I plan to buy them again. It looks like the ones I got have a new model - now a boot. They look a little intimidating and I may not be wearing those to a public gym if I get them! Then again, who knows, maybe boot-aerobic shoes are all the rage...

I'm not exactly clear on how the purchase/return process works; I ordered through us bodyware but then when I had to get my refund for the 8.5's (I shipped them back) they said a different store just down the block from them processed it. In any case, it was quite a hassle to get my credit card credited the return but eventually it did go through.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions! (I found out about freddy's here at cathe too!)
