So... I fell while walking the dog a couple of weeks ago and sprained my ankle. Silly me kept thinking it would feel better *any moment now* and mostly didn't bother with icing or taking anti-inflammatories regularly. But it didn't heal and as I kept dragging my foot around behind me like Quasimodo, I ended up at the doctor's earlier this week. It is not fractured, which is a relief, but he did say it is likely some ligament damage, aggravated by achilles tendonitis, and that takes a long time to heal. He said I don't have to STOP working out, but that I have to "take it easy." I'm not sure what that means, and I'm pretty sure he's never seen a Cathe workout. Eh-hem. Anyway, every time I work out, my foot just THROBS, so I am really torn about not doing anything vs. trying to do it *very very carefully*. I am also on mega-anti-inflammatories, which are primarily killing my stomach, I think.
Sorry, did I mention I was venting?
So what do you think? Should I just lay off entirely? Or try to manipulate things so there's no pressure on my foot but I'm technically getting a workout? I know it's ridiculous, but I'm so afraid of ballooning up into the small buffalo I know I am genetically destined to be! x(
