Form ? on Plie Squats in Butts and Gutts

Hi Cathe:

Love the new workouts, esp B & G!! You have really taken it to a whole new level. Thanks for keeping us challenged!!

My question is in regard to the Plie Squats maneuvers in this workout that come after the walking lunges. Is the goal to get our toes pointed out as far as we safely can so that we feel it more in the inner thighs? Or should we keep our toes facing more forward so the exercise remains more glute focused?

I can't quite tell from watching you or the other girls where we need to be w/ our feet, and I'd appreciate any clarification you can give.

Thanks in advance, Lynn M.

Hi Lynn! Great question. We are doing plie squats. Keep the toes turned out (of course working within YOUR range of motion) and make it a plie as to balance out the program. I aimed to make the workout include exercises that either were mostly glute, or glute with a tie in from the hamstrings, quads, or inner and outer thigh. This is to keep the routine well rounded (no pun intended, ha) and better balanced.

Thanks for the response... the upside is at least my glutes are supposed to get a teeny bit of a rest after those killer lunges!! :)

Take care, Lynn
