Forget what I said

About Burt's Bees. Recently, I sang the praises of their facial products on someone's wrinkle-cream thread. I started using the products this summer, and tonight I found MOLD growing in my night cream. A big black, hairy chunk of MOLD. I'm a little nervous of the other bacteria that could be swimming around in there. It's organic and all-natural, but I thought they had a process of preserving their products. I guess not. Just didn't want anyone to go out and buy some because of what I said earlier. I'm planning on throwing out all of mine. I figure that's probably about $50 worth of products.

Stepanie - contact the company and send the product in. They do tests on this sort of thing and compare it to batch tests. I work for an ophthalmic pharma company and this is part of what we do. Every batch is tested and those files kept on record in case a customer complains about something. We also will do independent testing on what the customer sends to us.

I wonder if being bought by the Clorox Company last year has anything to do with product quality now? They're also more mainstream; it's being sold at Target and Rite Aid.

Stephanie,

I'm very sorry this happen to you! I agree with Shana, you need to contact the company.
How awful!
