Have you guys seen this adorable Jane Austen action figure?

I think I'm going to send one to my dear friend who turned me on to JA years ago.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

That is too cute! My aunt gave me the Jane A. library -- loved P&P, have yet to read any of the others. One good thing about being sick at home -- I get to do the Cathe forums!

Jane Austen rocks.

Just a little thread drift here--does anyone else think the chick in the new P&P looks almost exactly like Winona Rider?

Cute.

Hey, have you read the book "The Jane Austen Book Club"? I read it early last year. It was pretty okay.

Hi Sparrow,

Thanks for the link! That is so cute. I'm sure your friend will get a kick out of it. I love JA--probably my favorite author.

ETA that yes, I do think the gal who plays Elizabeth Bennett in the movie bears a striking resemblance to Winona Rider. What ever happened to her? I haven't seen her in anything for ages. I always liked her, especially in Little Women and Age of Innocence.

She's also one of my very favorite authors. I think it's a really great sign that there would be an Austen action figure in a world that sometimes seems to only have room for "models" who are either carrying weapons or have bodies and faces not found in nature!
