hi,i want to loose some inches in my leg but and not built some muscolouses legs....anyone has some proposal for me???:(

Take a look at Leaner Legs from the CTX series, also Butts and Guts in Cathe's DVD library. Both of these use a lighter weight, endurance approach totally fry the legs without building hulking great muscles. The floor section of GS legs is also excellent and will help shape and refine the lower body without "bulking up," in addition to paying attention to smaller muscle groups and areas that barbell squats, lunges and deadlifts cannot reach, like the gluteus medius strengthened through bridge work, the glute-ham tie in worked through the excellent stability ball roll ins, and outer and inner thigh with the prone leg lifts and stability ball squeezes.

If after all this you still need more, the STS has a wide range of leg workouts to help get the job done and avoid boredom. The meso 1 bonus lower body workout is excellent as is meso 2 legs and the plyometrics workout from meso 3. These will all help you.

For ways to put this all together along with the cardio to burn off the fat, take a look at some of Cathe's posted rotations from her rotations forum on these boards.

Have fun!

I've always found that Cathe's regular weighted leg work works well for me, if I use lighter weight. Ex: if she's using 40#, I use 30#.

I carry my weight in my legs and bulk easily there. I LOVE the High Step Challenge, becuase it really helped me lean out my legs. The band with the high step seems to be a magical combination for me!

Hope that helps!

I vote for Beachbody's Slim Series. Lighter weights and higher reps. It really leans the lower body out without adding bulk. I always go back to it.

Perfect Timing!

I almost posted a similar question this morning. I met with a personal trainer in early February and she recommended that I needed to use heavier weights for my lower body workouts. So I did Cathe's Lower Body Bonanza workout (improve lower body strength & definition) and after 4 weeks, feel like my jeans are fitting tighter in the legs. UGH, that isn't what I wanted. I naturally have muscular thighs. I'm debating on whether I need to give this workout one more month or look for a different lower body rotation. Two rotations that I have looked at are: 1) August 2007 Lower Body Solution or 2) Sept. 08 Leg Blast Rotation. Maybe I should go with the Leg Blast rotation - emphasis is to lean out your lower body. Thoughts please?

Thanks, Lisa

Hi fit8585. I don't get around much here anymore, but thought I'd give you my 2 cents. I also have large legs, and am sure I'll never be happy with them.

I have a trainer who is built much like me - a true pear shape with large, prone to muscular legs. Essentially, my Cathe leg workouts are used maybe once a week on my light leg days - but even that my trainer cringes at. She has me go HEAVY 1x week. I mean heavy. I've said this in another thread, but think butt to ground squats in the 150 lb area. Walking lunges - I carry 95 lbs and do 4 or 5 sets of 25 reps. Now don't get me wrong - I've worked up to these numbers over the last year. And I've kept my diet uber clean. If you look at my pics you'll see where I did a figure comp last year - just to say I'd done one. I'll be doing one more - to be competitive, but I did post some pics that were taken just recently, and even I was amazed at how much thinner my legs look. And I honestly believe - from my own experience - that if you are built with large legs, the key to getting them to look "sleeker" is to work them HARD -- MUCH harder than the weights Cathe uses, but only 1x week. And I was SO reluctant to do this. I've learned a lot from the Cathe boards and the EC here. But it was only when I threw all my trust into a trainer with this idea, and worked to her knowledge, that I began to see results. She also says that it's a long work in progress. That every YEAR, with clean eating and heavy weights, she sees a little more imporvement.

It's not a quick fix, and may not be what you wanted to hear, but that's my experience. Good luck in your quest - it's a hard journey huh?

I think I will try getting back into jogging. Don't know that I will ever be a "runner." I am going to give it a try when I am walking the dog tonight. She will love it!
