Hey, I am in the process of looking for a new pair of workout shoes, and would like to know if anybody has a favorite brand? I know Cathe is partial to Ryka, and if anybody has a pair, do you have a favorite? I have been searching around and can not decide which pair to get....thanks for your help. Donna.

I just got a pair of Ryka Stylus from finishline.com. They were on sale for $49.98 which isn't bad considering they are about $80 regularly. I thought I would try them because I have heard so much hype and really needed more arch support and motion control. I can truly say they are great. I can do lunges so much easier because my feet aren't wiggling back and forth and the forefoot cushioning is great. There are other models on sale as well, you may want to go to the mall and try them on first. Alot of people say they have to go a 1/2 or full size larger in Ryka but I purchased my regular size and they are fine. I hope this helps

Hey Donna!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-18-02 AT 11:35AM (Est)[p]I love Ryka's and thanks to KathyS, I found a great bargain on them last week. Go to [http://www.finishline.com] and put in the "search" box the work Ryka. It will take you to TWO Ryka pages. On the second page, I ordered the Cirrus brand and the Purl brand. They both came this week and fit perfect! (That is AFTER I called them and told them they sent me TWO RIGHT shoes in the one pair! :-rollen!!!) They overnighted the left shoe! Great customer service! Their site is also secure if you want to order online. Also, Ryka's tend to run small for me. I normally wear size 7. I ordered a 7 1/2 in the Cirrus style and an 8 in the Purl style. They only have limited sizes in each style. To my surprise, they BOTH fit perfect! Good Luck!

Came back to mention that the shoes were only $30.00 & $40.00 which is a great buy for Ryka's!!!

I really like Reebok's Power Trainer DMX styles and I just got a pair of New Balance 745's last week. The NB are very light weight and cushiony and run true to size. I also have a pair of Ryka Re-Evolutions that I wore for quite awhile. They held up great and I ordered my regular size which fit o.k. They did give my feet callouses though.

Happy Shopping!

Hello,
Footwear is such a personal thing, but here's my 2 cents.
I love Adidas crosstrainers. They are very comfy for my wide size 9 feet!
Kathy

Ryka is my fav shoe for working out. Go to Lady Footlocker, they carry almost all of the Ryka styles. Karen

My only advice is to try lots of shoes on. I currently have good luck with Reebock DMX and Nike Air varieties, Rykas give me blisters. I drive them crazy at the shoe stores trying everything on but my feet are weird and it takes several tries to find something that doesn't rub in wrong places. --Karen

Thanks so much everybody!! I guess I have a lot more research and trying on to do. I kinda like that Rykas are made for women...I have a women-specific mountain bike, and I just LOVE that....maybe I am just hoping for a magic shoe to get me through Imax...heehee. Thanks again! Donna.

If you find the magic shoes that gets you easily through the scissor lunges from he**, please let us all know about them IMMEDIATELY!!

Leslie

P.S. I love Rykas. I suggest you try them on at Lady Footlocker for size & then go to the finish line site Debbie put the link to & order you some from them at half the price!! I think they're discontinued models but do I care if my workout shoes are last year's style?????

My wide foot does well with New Balance shoes. I wear a running shoe for treadmill workouts and run/walk intervals. But for step, And Cardio kicks I wear a shoe with more lateral support. Both shoes are NB.

Take time to enjoy those who matter most to you & do all things in moderation :)

What NB shoe do you wear for step,likes2bfit? I also have a wide foot and having trouble finding a good shoe for indoors. It seems like if it has good cushioning, it lacks lateral support, and vice-versa. TIA
