Foot Neuroma

Has anyone else had this? I started experiencing pain in the bottom of my foot---everyone said it was plantar faciatis. I finally went to the doctor and he said it was Morton's Neuroma. Gave me a cortisone shot and it felt so much better. That was back in May or June. Now the pain is back. My mom had the same thing and ended up having to have surgery on both feet. That is NOT something I want to do! She also said you can only have so many cortisone shots because it can cause arthritis. I believe her on this because she works for hand surgeons and is familiar with all that.

So the question is, if you had a neuroma, how many shots did you have to get before it was gone forever? If you had surgery (shudder), how long were you unable to workout? Geez, since it's my right foot, I suppose I should ask how long until you could even walk normally and drive a car.

Thanks to anyone that can share their experience. I'm just sick about this.

Hey Pedmom,

I was just diagnosed with achilles tendonitis and plantar facistis(sp) about a week ago. I had PF in my right foot 4yrs. ago and now it is in the same foot. But my achilles tendonitis is my biggest problem right now. As far as a shot, I have not been given one before. Right now I am in a boot cast for 6-8 weeks and it is a pain!

I guess I am not being much help here, just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone. I hope you won't have to go through any surgery. Good luck!
