I'm not sure what kind or how big of a foam you need, but when I needed to replace a length of foam on one of my pieces of equipment, I bought one of those foam "noodles" people use for pools. It's pretty cheap and very firm. Just cut it as long as you need it and if need be, cut down one side to get it on. I did that and used gorilla glue to reseal it shut.
