flooring

We are finishing our basement and have a nice large space that we will be making into our workout room. About half of it will be devoted to aerobics and the other half to free weights, aerobic machines, and other equipment. We are currently researching the flooring. Is Taraflex the way to go or should we consider something else? Would we need to have additional protection under the equipment such as rubber matting? What is the Taraflex really like?

Thank you.

Hi! You would not need to put additional rubber matting under a Taraflex floor for your equipment area. As for your cardio area, if you are going to have concrete under the flooring, then I think Taraflex is fine for cardio equipment, step aerobics, kickboxing, ab work etc. But for hi impact jumping such as high lo or jump roping for more than 8 minutes, you may want to put a sub floor under the taraflex.
