I have my weights (including a machine with Smith bar and up/lower cables) in my basement, which is unfinished (cement floor). I do cardio upstairs on thick carpet, and drag my weights up for Cathe circuit workouts. I’d like to get something to put on the basement floor to make cardio safe, so I don't have to drag weights upstairs. What would be the best surface for that? This would be a temporary fix, as we plan to finish the basement this year--what finished surfaces should we consider since I workout on a portion of it (and also considering eventual resale value)?
