Flaxseed benefits and how much per day?

Please forgive the dumb question...
What are the benefits of flaxseed?
How much per day is recomended?

There are no dumb questions! I am just learning about flax myself. I am trying some "Eat to Live" recipes and they reccommend 1 Tablespoon of flaxseed a day. Thanks Debbie for the site...:)...Carole
 
Those are not dumb questions. I'm glad you're interested in incorporating flaxseed to your diet. The benefits...oh my! Flaxseed is good for your hair, skin, nails, joints, arteries, mood, etc. I take one tablespoon daily with my protein smoothie, or I add one tablespoon of flaxseed oil (high-lignan) to my salads.
