FITNESS NOT FACEBOOK: JULY

I did it!!! Cardio core circuit straight into XT Legs (all sections). (I don't have butts and guts)
It really helped that I had no leg work yesterday, so wasn't too tight. It was my first time with CCC - enjoyed it. However I can't do the roll-up thingies. I can't get to standing
Stacy - Yes UY Mountain is a lot of standing with arms in the air. It loosened my shoulders, but it's certainly not a favourite. At least it's under 30 minutes.
Toni - I'm going to have a good look at those photos!Glad you had a good time - welcome back.
Judy - you OK? Not heard for a while.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all

X Train Cardioblast Legs finished. Justine: I find CC Circuit very hard. The ab work for me is impossible. Well done for doing it.

Tomorrow is Xtrain biceps and triceps.

Speak to you all then.

Toni, sounds like you had a great time! I love hiking!! On our last hiking trip I inadvertently walked right past a bear that was eating berries off a bush along the trail. My hubby saw it and was trying to take pics, had I known I would've high tailed it out of there!

I just finished Shock Cardio Athletic Step, that was tougher than I thought, had to pause a few times to catch my breath. Hoping my cardio capacity improves with this rotation too! I followed AS with Core Max workout #1 minus the levitation holds...dont know how she does those!! I cant do the roll up thingies in CC either! I didnt think I'd get thru the 300 walking lunges but I did it and they seemed easier than last time!

Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow, was thinking of PUB and the floor and abs from KV's GWW. We'll see how my legs are feeling tomorrow! ;)

Keep up the good work everyone! We're kickin' butt!

Hi All,

I've gotten a little behind in posting my workouts but still trying to follow everyone else's posts. On Friday I did a longer indoor ride, Spinervals On The Road-Tempe Training Ride, for 1 hr and 50 minutes. Saturday evening I did part of an STS Squat Rack dvd. I did 4 sets of squats and 4 sets of deadlifts. Sunday was a rest day. Today I did an indoor ride ( so much rain here lately I can't get outside as much as I would like :( ). I am planning on starting a 3.5 month STS rotation this week also:eek: If I can get motivated enough, I may do disc 1 tonight. The weather lately has been depressing me..I need to snap out of it and get busy, as Cathe would say :)

Justine, Stacy & Laura-you have been working so hard! Way to go!

Toni-Glad you had a good trip! 30 miles in a week is pretty good mileage!

Judy

Good morning, I'm taking it a bit "easy" today for my workout anyways. I'm going to do upper body (probably PUB "up" premix) followed by floor work and abs from GWW. After that my arms and quads will get another workout b/c I have about a dozen bushes along my garage that are in dire need of trimming. Planning on doing that with the old school hedge trimmers so I'm sure my shoulders will be sore as well as my quads from squatting down to clean up all the trimmings!

Tomorrow is a planned rest day :)

I reckon hedge trimmers are the ultimate pectoral workout!
Judy - glad to hear you're about to start STS. I'll be starting soon. I'm planning on 1xHiit 1xsteady state cardio and 1xmetabolic as my 'in betweens'. I guess you'll be on your bike quite a bit?
Laura - I think that Cardioblast Legs is one of the best w/os. Covers all angles, so to speak. I did it this morning in place of Lower Body Blast. I then did MMA Fusion (in place of 4DS kickbox). And finished with UY cardio. UY is getting easier already.
Tomorrow is my last day of Rock Bottoms - it'll be a while until I attempt it again ;) I think, though, that I'll keep adding the BBW and walking lunges in when I can.
I'm off to Naples tomorrow (Italy rather than Florida), so I'll check in briefly before I go. And I'll try not to eat too much pizza and pasta :D
Justine

Last check in before Italy :D
I've finished Rock Bottoms :D :D (This morning - JUST fitted it in)
Results - I didn't lose any weight (didn't intend to), although I fluctuate quite a bit, so it's hard to tell. My leg measurements didn't alter at all - neither top of thigh or center. If anything there was a tiny increase, but probably user error!
My waist went up 1/2" - HOWEVER, my first reading was pre-breakfast, and today it was post breakfast, and it's ToTM - so I reckon that's experimental error.
My hips (on hip bones) didn't change. But at my widest point (I guess my butt measurement) I went down 1/2". The rotation does exactly what it says it will. ;) I think everything looks tighter, and I'm certainly stronger in the legs and glutes.
Now all I need is a rotation called 'whittle away the upper thighs' and I'll be happy!
Ciao (just practising)
Have strong and energetic w/os you guys,
Justine x

Hi all

Justine: I have absolute respect for you. How did you do the cardio leg blast, mma fusion and UY Cardio in the same day? I couldn't do those in the same week lol. I tried UY cardio Monday night after my cardioleg bast and it nearly killed me. Hope you have a great holiday in Italy. I think I may try the rock bottoms once I finish this 3 month x train rotation.

Today was tabatacise workout two, which is tabata 1 and 2. It was a good short workout. Tomorrow I'm due to do Hard Strikes, but I just don't like it. I will either sub with Kick Punch Crunch or do Jen Edwards Sweat More. I may try to fit in a stretch workout later. Possibly UY Foundations.

Hope everyones okay.

Hi all

Happy 4th July to all my friends across the sea. Today I subbed KPC intermediate and high drills, plus combo 1&2 with core and stretch. Then I did X Train legs stability ball and floor, so that I haven't got to do it Sunday, as I'm busy.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey everyone :) I had some workouts planned for the week and then towards the middle of the week my workout ADHD kicked in and I changed everything around :) This week so far has looked like:

Sun - Spin interval ride
Mon - PUB
Tues - Spin strength ride
Wed - LIS Cardio Supersets
Thur - High Step challenge

I will finish the week out tomorrow with a spin endurance ride :) I love love love me some circuit workouts!! I totally enjoyed HSC today and I'm so much stronger in the workout after STS!! I think I'm going to do some total body circuits next week to change things up. I need the extra cardio right now to offset my eating

Have a great 4th everyone!

Happy 4th! Looks like everyone is still going strong!

Yesterday was a much needed rest day. The combo of this rotation and the yard work on Tuesday really took it out of me sadly enough! I'm still feeling sluggish today and undecided what workout to do. I am thinking HiiT 30/30 followed by Butts & Guts, we'll see how my energy level is once I get started. I know today I'll either be able to brush off the cobwebs as I go along or I'm going to feel fatigued and just end up doing something light. I'm not used to working lower body this hard and this often and I'm even tweaking the rotation! That being said I'm going to keep at Rock Bottoms for possibly even 2 months b/c it's definitely taking my workouts up a notch and that is what I need!

Hi Everyone,

Here is what I've done this week:

Monday- Rode Spin bike for 1 hour & 15 minutes, tempo pace

Tuesday-STS Disc 1, Xtrain Core 2, followed by 1 hr 20 minutes on the spin bike watching the Tour de France team time trial. I rode 30 minutes at threshold, then easy.

Wednesday-Balanced Core from Core Max, followed by 1 hour & 15 minutes on the spin bike, tempo pace.

Today is a rest day.

I have some serious DOMS from all of the pushups the STS workout:eek: I really like STS, but I may have to revise my plans a little. My workout area is very small, and even though I have all of the equipment for STS, I was really having a hard time moving things around and having enough room. I kept tripping over things:eek:. I had to pause the dvd much more than I would like. Thinking we might need to free up some space in the basement and set up an STS area there for me. I think I am going to go back to Xtrain for strength for the next couple of weeks then start STS over when I get things moved around.

Looks like everyone is doing well and training hard! Have a great 4th of July!

Judy

Judy, I remember thinking the pushups werent going to end the first time I did STS!

I decided on Body Max 2, Scrambled Eggs Premix. I have never done this before and had no clue what it entailed. I figured I could have no dread factor and no clock watching if I had no idea what was coming next. I all I knew was that it was 80 minutes. I made it thru 60 minutes. I really wanted to finish but I was at the point of fatigue where it wasnt safe to keep stepping and risk that ankle sprain!

For those of you who havent done this one, it's basically alternating the step portion, then a power circuit and she also works in barbell squats, plie squats and static lunges. To polish it off she does one of the shorter step segments again twice in a row (the one that has the move she calls the power/speed skates on the steps aka the "bun burner"). My goal is to work up to finishing this entire workout!

I had forgotten that this workout contains one of my favorite Cathe quotes..."Don't rush the Cha Cha" ;)

Hi all

Stacy: Way to go on the rock bottoms rotation. I would love to do it, but I think my knees would cave in lol.

I did X Train Supercuts today. First time I've done it and I really liked it. My rest day tomorrow. So I'm back Sunday.

Have great weekends everyone.

Love

Friday is my rest day.

Planning on doing a bit more upper body tomorrow, abs abs and the BBW. Leaning towards the Double Upper Body premix from BM2. Then Sunday, have UY Vitality on tap.

My energy level has been low this week (or maybe I'm feeling lazy!). I did UY Vitality today and will definitely do a more energetic workout tomorrow! It's almost TTOTM so maybe that's the issue. I did like Vitality though, wasnt too tough but got me feeling stretched, also liked the sequence of poses. Heading to a baseball game tonight if it doesnt rain!

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did a 90 minute indoor bike ride and tonight I did Xtrain Legs, Premix 1, with rear delt bonus workout.

Stacy-I hope you got to go to your game last night. We had lots of rain this weekend so not much outdoor activity for me.

Judy

Got to the game with nice weather, but didn't workout. Was feeling really tired and a bit burnt out yesterday. This upcoming is going to be a bit crazy, weird hours and relatives may be staying with me for a few days, so we'll see how the workouts go :(

Was in a workout funk this morning, so ventured outside despite the sweltering heat and the risk for storms and got in a brisk, sweaty, 5 mile walk before it downpoured. I have a headache now, thinking I need to hydrate a bit more!

I ordered BH's new 3 dvd set Skinny Rules (or something like that). I've read reviews that they are short, but intense, following a short CrossFit WOD style. These will be good on days I'm short on time, or as an add on to a leg day or an upper body day.

I'm venturing away from Rock Bottoms awhile, I think it was a bit overtraining for me, maybe contributing to my current workout funk and fatigue. I also want to get in a little more upper body. But doing the 2 weeks of RB was still a good thing as there were many days I pushed myself more than I thought I could. I am walking away with the knowledge that in my future workouts I can definitely go beyond my comfort zone, just maybe not as often as with Rock Bottoms. I hope to come back to it though when I'm in a bit better shape!
