FITNESS NOT FACEBOOK: AUGUST

Laura, good job on doing what you can do. I would hope that the surgery would work, is it a fascial release type of surgery, sounds like carpal tunnel issues.

Justine, holy cow on all those pushups!

I just do bro's workout #3. It looked harder on paper, probably b/c I really need a squat rack to make the most of my squats, but dont have one yet, so the weight was really too low.

Warmup
-25 jumping jacks
-15 kettlebell swings
-25 jumping jacks
-20 air suats
-25 jumping jacks
-25 situp

Skill
-squats with barbell on your back, 4 sets of 8 reps

WOD
-AMRAP in 12 minutes (I just did 3 rounds total)
-10 Push Presses (basically a military press with a little mini jump for momentum, can go heavier with these than without the jump)
-15 Air Squats
-20 sit ups

The entire workout took 16 minutes, felt like I should do more, but I have to work all weekend so these workouts have been great for my time crunched life lately! And, I've been suprisingly sore with DOMS so I still must be doing something in that short time frame!

Sounds good Stacy! DOMS are SO satisfying!
Today I did Cardio Leg Blast (I get really stiff doing that one) and UY Cardio, then went for a swim (which is very leisurely and chatty with an old girlfirend, so probably doesn't count!)

Today I did my own combo of my brother's workout and workout #1 from ZCUT Strength

Warmup
--1/4 mile jog
--40 mountain climbers
--25 squat jumps
--1/4 mile jog

Skill
--4 sets of 8 barbell chest presses

WOD (from ZCUT. Was supposed to do 2 rounds of the 4 exercises, but was tired after 1! I added in the 10 weighted situps between the 4 other exercises)

--10 Manmakers (a plank/pushup + 2 one arm rows from plank, then squat/stand up doing an over head shoulder raise. I did this holding 8 lb dumbells the entire time)
--10 situps holding a 5 lb db overhead
--10 Four-Point Punches (holding 8 lb db's, with legs in wide stance, punch down to right ankle with a side lunge motion with left hand, then do on other side, then stand and do two punches to opposite corners of the room)
--10 situps with 5's
--100 Side Hops (little bunny hops over my resistance band, the cardio effect added up!)
--10 situps with 5's
--50 wide stance squats holding 8 lb db's at my sides
--10 situps with 5's

I probably couldve done two rounds if I hadnt done the chest presses but my arms were tired with those Manmakers right after!

Total workout time with warmup ~35 minutes.

I havent weighed myself or really changed my eating but my abs are looking leaner! I'm having fun going thru these workouts. So many possibilities! I have the 70 free ZWOW's and the 24 ZCUT workouts on dvd and 9 workout from my brother!

I'm very tempted.......the warm up sounds exhausting, though!
I guess I could do these routines on my non-STS days. Erm, like tomorrow.:(

Hi everyone! I'm still ploughing on with STS. Enjoy the w/o, but am feeling a bit despondent about the results. I'm beginning to think I should add more cardio. Whaddya all think?
Hope you're all having better luck ;)

Hi all

Well today I finished my three month X Train rotation. Really pleased with myself for actually commiting to it. Now I'm not sure what to do I think I may do the August 2013 Cathe rotation to change things up a bit.

Tonight I'm out with friends for a meal, so I'll treat myself to a nice dessert.

Hope everyones okay.

Laura

Well done! Did you get the results you were after?
I'm loving doing STS, but getting a little dillusioned by the weight gain :( - so today I did HiiT 40/20 straight into 30/30, and then Xtrain Legs (standing only).
I'm off out, too - but the friends I'm going to are doing Insanity - so I may get plain chicken and brown rice and no dessert - so think of me when you're enjoying your pud ;)

Hey all, back from vaca! I got in some hiking, alot of trail walking and kayaking! Got to see a bear, was a bit scary! I ate fairly well on vaca, I dont think I lost weight but I'm fairly certain I didnt gain any so that's a plus!

Laura, I have yet to finish STS, I really think I need a weight bench to do Meso 3 and possibly Meso 2, good job!!

Justine, sounds like a great cardio workout for you! Is your weight gain muscle??

I need to do unpack, do laundry all that "fun" post-vaca stuff, but definitely going to jump back into some workouts!

I did a hodge podge workout today. Did 2.25 miles on the treadmill, alternating walking 1/4 mile and jogging 1/2 mile. Then I did the "up only" premix from PUB and at the start and in btwn each upper body segment I did 20 situps for a total of 120.

Welcome back Stacy - sounds like a great holiday (where were you?) and a healthy one too ;)
Sadly my weight gain wasn't muscle - but I've ramped up the cardio, and the scales are moving back down
I did Tabatacise (2 of them) right into STS Legs yesterday.
Mistake.
Today was Cardio Supersets. Somewhat easier !

We went to the Tetons, was a great time! I've been dealing with a killer headache, and pulled a muscle on my neck somehow so havent worked out since the other day even though I really want to :(

I really felt like I had lost some strength when I did PUB the other day. Dont know if that's just b/c it's been awhile since I had worked out due to my vacation or b/c I've been doing more CF inspired workouts which worked the upper body with more body weight exercises (though I did do bench presses and overhead shoulder raises). When I get back to it I'm going to play around with the ZCUT workouts, my brother's workouts and adding in an upper body part each day. I'd really like to work on my running, so maybe adding that in more often on alternate days.

I'm eyeing the new Patrick Goudeau kickboxing workout that is due to be released soon! It's taught mostly by another instructor but looks really good!
