Fitness Circle

I just bought a good pilates fitness circle (on sale cheap!:D ) and am curious if anyone here uses one and how you use it. It comes with a few basic exercises but I am looking for something more advanced or advice on ways to modify other exercises to the fitness circle? TIA.

Don't you just LOVE getting new fitness toys!?!:7

I used one when I worked with a personal trainer but that was quite awhile back and I don't remember everything I did with it. I think there are several pilates DVD's that incorporate the circle, like Stott and Karen Voight. I don't have DVD's myself, but I know for sure that these 2 instructors use it. HTH

Thanks Michele, this one is a Stott product and comes with a DVD that I have yet to preview, there's also a poster but those exercises looked very basic. I've been intrigued by them for a while and it was an impulse purchase. When you trained did you enjoy working with it and did you find it challenging? Thanks.

I did enjoy working with it. I remember a lot of inner and outer thigh work that I thought was very effective. It's just working with resistance. Boy, I wish I could remember something more specific but I can't. I have thought about getting one though. Us home exercisers can't have too much equiptment--LOL!

I have the Classical Pilates Magic Circle workout. I really like it;

Most of the time the exercises I do are ab exercises with the circle. Keep it between my knees as I do crunches (feet on the floor)- and squeeze as I come up. Between my knees with knees over chest, as I come up on crunches - and between ankles as I do crunches with feet up in the air.

Hope this helps.

I agree that Karen VOight uses it very effectively.
YOu can also just incorporate it into other workouts with inner thigh work: like when Cathe does stability ball squeezes for the inner thigh: use the circle instead. Or when she does the inner thigh lifts (in PS?), you could substitute circle squeezes.

"Classical Pilates with the Magic Circle" is a killer, specially the advanced part. I was begging for mercy at the end.
Also, from the www.xercize.com "Advance Floor Video" is a very good one, it is the circle with body bar. Talking about pain... Mari

Thanks for the links and suggestions everyone, I appreciate it. I will definitely keep it handy when doing floor work and modify with the circle when possible. As it happens Karen Voight's fitness circle video is on sale at CK Sales for 10 bucks. The Classical Pilates sounds like a great workout, I'll check it out. Thanks again, you guys are the BEST!:)
