I am looking for a good fitness book to buy. I am a fairly advanced exerciser, having worked out regularly for a few years (I'm 21 now)... I do cardio 3 times a week, weight training 2 times a week, and try to do 45-60 mins of yoga 1 time each week. I am looking for a good, solid, reliable book that covers all aspects of fitness to have on hand as a reference. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hi Sarahlh,
I have found an author who is right up my alley. His principles of tendon strength and countless other myth-busters have helped me get way more benefits out of old workouts like Firm Volume 1.

"Tight bodies" is what Susan Harris says, but this author goes into depth and talks about tightening up all muscles and joints in the body to gain instant strength and stability. Also, breathing techniques, wrist strength (improve grip to increase weights for U & L strength work without needing to buy anything like straps etc).

His name is Pavel Tsatsouline and his approach to fitness is from combat training from Russia. He has a fresh (to Americans) perspective and he writes with humor. His books cost $35.00 each so I saved up for my first one. I had already sampled his writing a lot in muscle media mag. In fact, he is the main reason I have subscribed to the mag, because all of 2001 he has written at least 2 articles in each issue.

I have his book Power to the People and I plan on getting more as finances allow. I am especially interested in Russian kettlebells. He has a video clip on his website: [link:www.dragondoor.com/index.html|Pavel Tsatsouline]
