I emailed cablevision to find out why they stopped airing fit-tv. This is the response I got -

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your recent email. I'll be happy to address your inquiry. To make room for additional services, Cablevision has elected not to renew its carriage of FitTV. Cablevision offers a large selection of fitness programming, including customer favorites like Denise Austin on Lifetime and hours of On Demand fitness programming on MagRack and Sportskool.

We apologize for any inconvenience this matter has caused and appreciate your continued patronage. Again, thank you for contacting us to express your programming interests. We always appreciate receiving comments and suggestions from our customers. Should you have any other issues please contact us at www.Cablevision.com

Thank you for choosing Cablevision.

Why is this channel no longer available? I have basic cable and family cable - channels 1 - 72, no extras. And of course, can I have it back!!!!
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!
Thanks in advance for the information.

The others were probably cheaper or they got a better deal.
Fit tv i'll bet is more pricey for them.
Contract was up so they went for cheaper to make more money on you.
Betya@!!!!
Cable is big business just like oil.
They don't care if one little person doesn't like it as long as it benefits their wallet...

Put your money where your mouth is and switch services. Go for satellite or dish programming if you can.

OMG! As if Denise Austin was any comparison!!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!!

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Mark Twain ;-)

I also got an email from cablevision. They told me that they offer Denise Austin on life time. That is not what I am looking for. Also to go to On Demand and click on free On Demand and check out Magrag which offers exercise programs and also Sportskool which are both free. I checked them out they are OK but I still am disappointed that I don't have FitTV.

I have Direct TV satelite and they still offer Fit TV. I would have laughed out loud at the Denise comment (She is the reason I became a group fitness instructor - if she could do it, anyone can.).

Out of all the crap channels cable bundles they cannot include Fit TV? Clearly they don't have any knowledge of the fitness viewing market in they think Denise Austin (bleh!!) suffices. I've cut off my cable tv after deciding that paying $50 monthly for the few channels I actually watch was simply not worth it. There are too many other things to do besides sit in front of the TV and pay $600+ a year for mostly crap.

Denise Austin....are they kidding? What a joke! I'm ready to switch back to Dish Network, just for Fit tv...that is why I made my dh switch to cable in the first place...he knows all too well about my obsession with working out! We still have all of our dish equipment, which we bought, including the dishe's still on our roof...in fact, he even said to me, "oh, don't tell me we're going to have to switch back to satellite again...." Denise Austin is an insult to hard core fitness fanatics....

I'm guessing that all cablevision networks are not the same. I have Time Warner Cablevision, and I still have FitTV.

So I went to the "free on demand" channel and low and behold we can not use it! Why? Because of our subscription level! In other words...$50.00/month is not enough $ paid out for crap tv...we'd need to pay MORE every month in order to get "free on demand". GIMME A BREAK! If it weren't for DH I'd have cable to get tv reception and that's IT!!!x(

Rant over!;)

Janet,
You got Fit TV on dish network?? We have dish network, but don't have fit tv as an option on any of the packages. I would sooooooo love to have fit tv!!!

Catherine

I don't care for any of the shows on Exercise On Demand. I prefer Fit TV much better. I'm also wondering if maybe I still have Fit TV when others do not is because I have digital cable. Anyone with digital cable still have Fit TV besides myself?

I still have FitTV. Not sure if I'm digital or not. I suspect it depends on where you live.... I'm in NE PA.

Catherine - Dish doesn't carry Fit TV - Direct TV does. Not sure if she made a mistake in the comment but I have Dish and no such luck with Fit TV.
