Good morning Melanie! Sorry to hear that both you and Justin have been sick. Luckily, even though DS is in daycare, he has been pretty healthy and not very sick this past year. (Knock on wood!) However, I'm sure this can change in the blink of an eye with winter fast approaching, by the end of the week the highs are supposed to be in the 50's here with rain on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Last week was not very good workout wise, but I have different plans for this week. Yesterday was so beautiful here so I took DS on a 3.1 mile run. My dog was so upset that I did not take her with us like I always do that she was howling and whimpering at the door until I returned home. :( (DH told me so.) I felt so bad, but I knew she would not have ran with me for more than a couple of miles. Beginning this week, I am hoping to start a new trend by running, probably 2 miles to start with, during my lunch hour with my dog on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. However at night I still plan to workout but with weights on MWF and Imax 1 or 2 on Tuesday & Thursdays. Hopefully the weather won't mess up my plans to run outside, but as an alternative I can run on my treadmill instead. Maybe these extra workouts will get the scale moving down, but once I do become pregnant then I will lower the intensity accordingly.

Melanie get better soon.
Waves to all Moms!!

:)

Hi all,
I too am struggling with that cold and awoke numerous nights coughing and/or sniffling. my head has also been hurting. Alexis stood on her own for about 1 minute yesterday. she also now claps her hands. I hope you all got the picture I emailed if not let me know.

Workout week:
Sunday-weights first(fitprime) +firm bodysculptblaster
Mon-Christi-stepheaven seg. 1 and 3 plus hi/lo heaven seg. 1
Tues-Firm upper body split+winsor hips, thighs
Wed-mindy-Interval express
Thurs-Firm muscle shaping =calorie killer
Friday-cathe-imax 2-blastmania
Sat-fitprime-from the group up then a walk to a local festival about 3.5 miles.
Alexis loved the festival, saw 2 of her friends and loved the music . I sat her by the band and she bobbed her head. She also pet a baby goat. She is such an animal lover.

What a bummer that so many of you are sick:-( . I hope you all are feeling much better soon. I know that the season is upon us and I am not looking forward to it. With 5 kiddos, it seems as if someone is always bringing something home from Sunday school or scouts or some such.

My workout week

Sunday--The Gauntlet
Monday--SB/SJP 60 min premix
Tuesday--ME
Wednesday--KPC
Thursday--off
Friday--unplanned rest day
Saturday--IMAX Xtreme

I have finally broken through my 3rd major plateau this year and have officially lost 40 lbs!!!--since 2 weeks post partum last year. I am now at my pre Malcolm weight. (Malcolm was the one where I gained 80 lbs total). I have 5 lbs to go, more or less.

I think I am going to post this on the open discussion board because I am so stoked.

take care all

Maggie

Hi awesome Moms! I think my cold is waning. :) It was an awful one (which one isn't?).

Kristi, my chocolate lab always wants to go running...but he's about 12 years old & have arthritis pretty bad. He has to stay home. I did go running this morning. It's suppose to be in the 40's rest of week, so I felt I HAD to go today. Baby Justin did NOT want to go today. He cried about 1/4 of the time, therefore I only got a 3.5mi run in today. Oh well, maybe I'll get AbRipper in tonight yet.

How are you feeling Shophaholic? HOpe your almost all healed! ;) Justin loves our animals too.

Maggie, I scanned the posts and I didn't see anything about you awaiting test results? Is everything okay? I'll be praying for you. :) Congrats on your weight. What an achievement!!!

Briee, I too go through eating binges. My weight usually stays in the same range, so not to worry unless the scale begins to move!!! Since I've been sick, I've lost about 5-lbs. Can't go wrong there, right? Sudafed makes me so jittery & I'm pretty anorexic on it. :)

Hi all,
My cold is getting better. Finally got a good night's sleep last night. Today though , Alexis napped for 2.5 hours this morning, longer than usual, then in the car she either spit up or threw up her lunch so i am keeping an eye on her health.

Hi everyone!

Glad to hear that ya'll are feeling better.

And I hope that Alexis is not sick.

Yes, I posted on the other mom thread that I was having some testing done because of some odd symptoms I have been having on and off for the past month.

Everything is fine (even my thyroid, which was always a question for me because my weight loss at times has been so slow), but I have a cholesterol level of 270 and the LDL is 183, so that is not good. The doc wants me to change my diet and exercise. Well, I already exercise, so that can't change, but I do love my food, especially my butter, eggs, cheese, bacon, and CHOCOLATE. (HMMMM, maybe this is why the weight loss is slow?)

take care

Good news! Cholesterol is from animal fat. I don't think chocolate has animal fat in it?!?! :D Your HDL must be about 83. This is great!!! This is from exercise, no doubt. An HDL cholesterol over 65 is considered a NEGATIVE risk factor for cardiovascular disease. You see, the glass is half-full. :D (Okay, I"m done being a pharmacist now). :D :D

I just said a prayer for Alexis. We're thinking positive thoughts here. My positive thoughts say that Alexis just spit up a little b/c she having so much fun after lunch, she forgot to let her stomach digest the food. :D

I don't know if I can remember all of my workouts for last week. I will try

Mon - Rock Steady Step
Tue - Pyramid Bonus Combo + BC Cardio only (I think)
Wed - can't remember, but I did something
Thu- High Step Advanced
Fri - Slammin' Sports Cardio (I haven't done this one in at least 2 years, maybe 3!)
Sat - 6 mile run

Max gets closer to walking. He took 8-10 steps today on his own. He just gets so excited trying to run over to his mama that he loses balance. Also, he has had 8 front teeth for months now, but finally I noticed a molar coming in.

Sorry some of you are sick! My husband is and I fear catching it. Maybe I will luck out and avoid it.

Hi all,
Thank goodness, alexis semms her cheerful self and is eating and shows no signs of sickness. I did throw out the rest of the macoroni and chees, maybe the cheese was going bad. Magggie, glad all the tests were fine. Emy, thanks for the reminder to do slammin sports, I always enjoy this one but rarely do it. I also have rock steady step but need to preview it again before I retry it, It got me frustrated last time I did it. Emy, I bet Max will walk any day now.

Hi Emy! I too forgot about Slammin Sports Cardio. You didn't mention if you enjoyed it? Sometimes the moves get so outdated... I really like Mindy. If Justin will allow me, I will try to do that one today. :) SIX mile run? That's awesome! You aren't running consistently are you? I bet you'll be nice and sore. }( ...Just like I'll be nice & sore if I do Mindy's video. :D :D
Shopaholic, I"m glad Alexis is back to her self (not that I had any doubts ;) ).

Hi Everyone! Looks like everyone is staying busy and doing awesome with your workouts! Briee-do you really like the px90 series?I know you like weight lifting! I would love to be able to just do weights-it is definitely my favorite-i also like running.:) My week isnt quite as full- i took a few days off and went shopping in miami with my husband.;-) here it is:
Mon.-5 mile run
Tues.-Power Hour-4 mile p.walk
Wed.-5 mile run-4mile walk
Thurs.-Muscle End.-4 mile walk
Fri.-shopping!!
Sat.-shopping!!
Sun.-Rest

:) :) Cant shopping count as a workout??!!Have a great weekend everyone!

I mostly enjoyed Slammin' Sports Cardio. The best part is definitely all of the intervals at the end of the cardio - it's like the grand finale of the fireworks show. My least favorite is the kickboxing section because my heart rate drops during that part.

I am running consistently... consistently once per week! Usually every Saturday. But it's been fun. Ideally I would be doing it 2-3 times per week, but that's just not working out right now.

Shopaholic, I forgot to mention that I love Alexis picture. She is definitely the cutest! So cute she looks unreal, more like a doll.

Also, Yay!! - my husband ordered the high step for my birthday! Can't wait for it to arrive. Anyone else have it? I didn't really need it, but the other gift I wanted was over $300, so that was an obvious choice.

Smiley, all think we're all in agreement, shopping is lots of work. It can definitely count as a workout. Here is an exchange formula:

2.5 hrs of shopping = (60 min cardio + "X") + "Y"min of strength tr

Let "X"= 10 minutes for every outfit that you tried on
= 20 minutes for every child you brought with you
= -30 minutes if DH came with

Let "Y" = 15 minutes if you packed your own groceries
= 10 minutes if you loaded & unloaded your own purchases
= 20 minutes for every child you brought with you

:D :D

Melanie, by your theory, no wonder I am losing weight. I think I buy Alexis a new outfit almost daily. Wonder why I call myself shopaholic?
Emy, I have been told by many people that she looks like a doll. I have some other pics too that I will foward. Alexis says thanks for the compliment. she is awaiting a picture of Max and would be willing to have a long distance relationship.
