Tue: KPC (the entire thing...no interruptions!!!)
Wed: Rhythmic Step + challenge
Thurs: off
Fri: 7 mi run
Sat: 1st 10 min Push & Pull (didn't feel like doing it) + PS Abs

Hey ladies, I got a 2nd wind today. I was going to edit my post, but I was told "editing period has expired". Is this new? Anyway, this is what I added:

Thurs: I did Ab Ripper ;)
Sat: Ab Ripper X + PP Biceps/Triceps/Supermans & Abs

I really need to start writing my execises down again, as my mind is beginning to fail me. ;)

Now I'm going to eat some chocolate, read my Parenting magazine and go to sleep.

Good night ladies. :)

Hello ladies! You are too funny Melanie... after trick or treating I don't think I could eat all the chocolate in my house. I am going to partake of the challenge. The leftover birthday cake is going on our recently planted morel mushroom bed. The candy... hmmmmm... grandmas house. :) I just don't have the willpower. :)

Melanie, I bet Justin is as cute as can be. He is walking already! My daughter waited until July 3... just 28 days before she turned 1. One of my friend's son walked at 7 months... it is so cute when they are that small. Not that Sydney was small... she was 18 pounds at one year... bigger that Alexis though.

The weather has been strange here in MO too. Very warm... upper 80s. I am glad we waited to carve the pumpkin or else it would have decomposed. That happened a few years ago. I guess Octobers have been warmer in recent years come to think of it.

I really shook things up this week... I replaced YogaX with Bryan Kest (only 40 minutes). :)

Sun: Rest
Mon: Chest & Back plus Ab Ripper
Tue: Plyometrics
Wed: Shoulders & Arms plus Ab Hits
Thurs: Bryan Kest Yoga (the weight loss one... I think)
Fri: Legs & Back plus Ab Hits
Sat: KenpoX

See ya ladies!

Edited to add: RE: the challenge... I will think of Cathe abs in the Muscle Mac pic everytime I contemplate cheating. OMG, she is simply gorgeous!! I emailed my DH the link to the pix... his response.... "Ummmmmm.... WOW!". :)

Happy Halloween to all you Mummies, ghouls and boys. The weather here is warm(muggy) but drizzly hopefuly it will vlear in time for trick or treating. We are going to go to some neighbors houses tricking or treating but skip the candy as Alexis doesn't eat it yet.
I am still on the fence about the chocolate free week. I seem to do better eating things in moderation vs. eliminating.

Did I mention, Alexis's weight? Last week she weighed in at 15.5 lbs, still 27 inches. She is still cruising on furniture and decided not to hurry the walking . She looks as if she will be walking soon. Cngrats to Justin on walking. She will be pooh today. I had her where costume to breastfeeding group party on friday. Everyone who knew her laughed sice the costume had a big belly and Alexis has always been one of the thinnest of the group. I had Alexis's feet measured, suprisingly her foot measured at almost a 3, I have her wearing size 2's. unfortunately, the store's walkers all started at 4's. In our shopping travels yesterday, I bought myself a pair of black ryka supras for $31 and change. What a steal.

Workouts:
Sunday-off (Did we agree that shopping is exercise?,if so we walked around Khols, babiesrus and target.)
Mon-PS-cst+mic-step (i think I did some abs too)
Tues-PS-BBA+10-10-10 cardio
Wed-PS-legs/abs
Thurs-gautlet
Friday-Mindy-action packed-hi/lo+firm abs day 1 and 1/2 of day 2
Sat-circuitmax

Hi ladies,
It's been awhile since I last posted...at least 7-8 weeks. I was on doctor's orders to quit my workouts. I got some type of infection - delayed birth healing they tell me. Anyway, I feel a million times better now.
Last week I resumed my workouts! Yeah! Not being able to workout makes me feel like crap! I have been lurking in the shadows around here and I am soooo up for the chocolate challenge - It is going to be a tough one for me.

Sun: off
Mom: walked
Tue: Plyometrics and 1 hour game of indoor volleyball
Wed: Power Half Hour: Buns (by Tony Horton)
Thu: Plyometrics
Fri: Power Hour

Someone around here mentioned the "Outsmarting the Female Fat Cell After Pregnancy" book - can't remember who. I just wanted to tell them thanks! I read the book and found it very motivating. I've got a peace plan. :) Thankfully, I am able to fit in all my pre-pregnancy clothes. My goal is just to firm things up now.

Maisie is 18 weeks old. She had her 4 month appointment and shots on Friday. She is 16 lbs 2oz and 26 1/2 inches long. She's sooo cute and happy these days. We got one of those walkers and she "walks" all over the house now.

Thoroughly enjoying a Kit-Kat,
Christy

Hey Christy. Welcome back, we've missed you. :)

Did someone say shoes?!?!? Behind Mt Dew, then chocolate, it's shoes that are my most awful habits. :D I just recently found www.zappos.com --if you love shoes, you'll love this site. Just scored some cute Born clogs. Shopaholic, what a steal on the Ryka's. They're my favorite aerobic shoe. I was checking out my Nike running shoes yesterday, and they're beginning to shoe wear on the outside corners. I tend to walk/run a bit like a penguin. :D

BTW, I forgot to mention, they DID give baby Justin a flu shot. They're just giving one shot...they usually give a series of 2 shots to kids, but with the shortage they're just giving one shot. :D Thought I'd give an update b/c I didn't think we'd get one.

Anyone else struggling w/baby's schedule today w/ Daylight Savings? Drats! I almost got Justin on a 'loose' schedule. Oh well.

Hi,
Trick or treating wasn't sucessful, due to lack of nap and clock change. Alexis was not a happy pooh. I tried putting screaming girl to bed at 7Pm after clock change but she couldn't sleep with the trick or treaters rigging the bell. She is now computing with me.

That's too bad Alexis wasn't able to enjoy her 1st trick or treat. Justin was happy for about an hour. Long enough for big brother to get a pail full of candy. I've eaten my full of chocolate for the night, I'm afraid. :D

Max was a bear for Halloween, but we just went to a Halloween party last night, no trick or treating. Everyone around here did all that on Saturday while we were at the party. As I type, my husband is prepping in the kitchen for day one of BFL that starts tomorrow. I don't really want to do it mostly because I'm vegetarian, but I want to go off sugar. So should I totally go off it, or should I enjoy one "cheat" day per week with my husband's BFL? That is the question that I have not decided yet. I have never done this before! Wish me luck.

Wed- SB
Thu- HST
Fri- CTX Power Circuit & Step & Intervals (both - cardio only)

Chocolate free?

How's everyone doing? Monday a co-worker brought in some pumpkin muffins. They had orange frosting w/chocolate sprinkles. I was going to pick the sprinkles off of them, but figured it'd be ok to just eat it. Then I found out there were chocolate chips inside the muffin. I had to eat it, b/c how would it look if I didn't? Then later I sneaked another one. I'm bad.

Yesterday was better. However when I was backing out of my driveway I saw a miniture Milky Way in the backseat. I knew I shouldn't havee eaten it. But I just couldn't help it.

Today, I've been good and haven't had any. :D
It truely is an addication for me. It brings me back to my cigarette days...

RE: Chocolate free?

Hi guys,
Glad to hear the trick or treating went fairly well. Nicolaus went as a politician...A republican one! He did a great job for the first t or t. He tried to go into people's houses, pulling on their doors trying to get in. He accidently knocked some lady's pot of flowers off the steps and broke it. OOPS! Good thing we know her, she comes to our business to buy flowers, etc so we gave her a free pot. Tennyson was sick so he stayed home with daddy. We both got so tired after 45 min of walking to houses. I started to eat candy this week. Must be PMSing since I'm not really into chocolates. I'm more into ice cream and pizza. :)

Last week's workout:

Sun- High Step Circuit
Mon- Aerostep with Gin
Tues- CardioKicks
Wed- Walk Your Way Slim
Thurs- Can't remember!
Fri- off
Sat- Terminator Gauntlet then went to a strip club for a bachelorette party. (It was my first time to one and all I can say is HOT DAMN! }( ) You can throw stones at me for looking at men in G-Strings!

RE: Chocolate free?

Melanie...you are sooooo funny. I had just asked in a LONG post how you are doing with your chocolate (or lack of) and then I got side tracked with baby and 2 year old and when I came back my 11 year old had zapped it away. Oh well...you read my mind and answered!!:7

Shopaholic is probably the wisest in using moderation. My problem always lies in "breaking" the addiction and if I have ANY I tend to eat lots. Once I stopped eating the carbs as in breads, pastas, etc. it was much easier to live without other sugars (ie candies, chocolate, cookies etc). I stick with LOTS of veggies for carbs. BUT if I have a donut in the morning....I can count on eating about 5 more throughout the day...it's so tough to stop once I have tasted it.}( }( .....sugar is evil!!

Emy....BFL is a great book. I would suggest subbing in some protein shakes, cottage cheese, or yogurt for the meat if you don't eat meat. I've been a strict vegan in the past, but I was having a VERY hard time adding muscle so I've added in homemade plain yogurt and sometimes a protein shake with whey in it. It has helped significantly. I've also been taking Amino Acids by twin labs in my shakes. (okay I've also been taking some creatine in the a.m.'s with my weight workouts - only cause I bought it really cheap at the little Amish store down the street and I've been curious about it for some time now - probably not that healthy, but I'm pushing a little harder than before. :) ) Let me know how you're doing on the BFL. I wish I could get dh to workout.

Sun - L&G standing leg work-39min.; S&H legs HEAVY and Ab ripper}(
Mon - Yoga X
Tues - ME with heavy shoulder add on
Wed - SJP Cardio premix
Thurs - S&H Legs HEAVY Abs,
Fri - Rest
Sat - Chest, shoulders, triceps P90X

Melanie....I need an ab ripper challenge....my abs have been on strike for the past month and I am trying to wake them up again, but I NEED to do it every other day. I keep blowing off the ABX. I used to LOVE doing abs - what happened??? Maybe I need to feed them chocolate??

RE: Chocolate free?

Hi all,
Hotspur, the night before my wedding I went to a male strip show with my sister and mother. What a hoot.
All his talk of chocolate free has made me eat more chocolate. I am relatively good and if available eat 1-2 small sized candies per day after lunch or dinner.

Alexis can now stand for about a minute. She is almost ready to walk.
Briee, have you tried the firm's ab routines? maybe you just need better routines to motivate you.
Alexis is going to be a ladybug next Halloween since this is the costume I found for 75% off. letting me pay only $7.50 for it yesterday.

Adding protein

Briee, Keep us posted on your muscle gain. Have you noticed a difference yet with the additional protein, or did you just recently start adding it in? I must clarify that my husband is doing the official BFL, and that I am doing my own variation. Since, I won't be as strict (i.e. not limiting the carbs as much, just only eating good carbs like whole grains and legumes) that is why I may not do the cheat day. Anyway, I have never tried to up my protein before, that is why I would love to hear about your results.

RE: Adding protein

Emy, I have noticed a difference adding in the protein. I am torn between what is best and what is best for my lifting/muscle gain. I think health wise, I am better off with a pretty much all raw diet....but I have gained much more muscle with more protein added. Can't have it all right??? I am pretty determined to add some muscle to my upper body and after I get where I want to be...I will probably return to a more raw veggie diet without the whey proteins. The question is....will I ever get to where I want to be ??? x( x( x( x(

Shopaholic....thanks for the suggestions regarding abs. My age old problem is (and I'll tell ya honestly I hate this about myself) if I can't be intense....I feel like skipping it. I did a Cathe ab workout the other day and it was fun (an older one), but I felt like I didn't "really" work my abs hard enough and then I felt like I wasted my time....which I know I didn't (just "felt" that way). I've come to realize this is why I had such a miserable pregnancy last time. I had to drop my intensity and I felt like I wasn't doing anything worthwhile, which wasn't the truth....it just bummed me out the whole time. I know I've got to get over thisx( x( !!!! And I am trying. When I do the ab ripper....my entire ab area is REALLY worked...I LOVE this feeling...I just have to psyche myself up to do it and my abs have been extremely lazy lately. I'm sure Cathe will offer me a solution in just a few weeks (I hope not months!!!) Until then I think I'll have to add in a few Cathe ab workouts and quit whining.

Briee

Hey did I tell ya Noah got his FIRST tooth this week, 10 months old and it's his first one. My other 5 kids got them by 7 months. He took 3 steps two days ago. His first tooth and first step all in one week!!

RE: Adding protein

Hi All!

Halloween was a lot of fun. DS dressed up as a farmer with his trusty sidekick his stuffed cow that he takes to bed with him. DH tried to take DS trick or treating so I could hand out candy. DS got about 20 feet away from me and looked at DH and said "Where's Mommy?". Needless to say, DS came running back to get me and we both walked him around. DS is a big Momma's boy. Of course it made me feel really good, but I felt bad for DH especially since DH LOVES Halloween. DH even made/sewed his costume himself this year and did a good job to boot. He was a pirate. I bet next year the DH & DS both will be inseperable.

Has the time change messed up any other baby's schedule? Before the time change DS would go to bed at 9 and get up at 6:30 like clockwork and very rarely get up at all, maybe one time and only once or twice a month. Now DS still goes to bed at 9, but wakes up numerous times in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep unless he knows I am there. He even opens his eyes a lot to check to make sure I have not left. Last night he did it 3 times and the last time I spent 30 minutes hovering over him because every time I would very quietly try to leave the room he would fully wake up and start crying for me. He also is wide awake at 6 a.m.. I'll be glad when he goes back to sleeping through the night. I guess it must be a phase he is going through, but he even clings to me for dear life at daycare when I drop him off to go to work, and he really loves it there once I leave. DS makes me carry him whenever we get close to his classroom and he is not a lightweight anymore, 35 pounds. I hope this phase runs it course soon, after about 10 - 15 minutes of trying to hold him my left arm goes numb. Must be a sign that he is getting too big to carry now.

I've got some bad news. I had to buy a new scale this weekend because our other scale was off with its measurements. However, I never dreamed it was 5 pounds off!! No wonder my clothes have been snug. I've been too relaxed in my eating and exercising regimen. Time to buckle down. Boy is this going to be tough with the holidays approaching, but if I want to fit comfortably in my clothes then I will do what is good for me. Wish me luck. I will need it!

Melanie - I am right there with you on the chocolate thing. It is my worst addiction, right next to soft drink. However, at least I have for the most part kicked the soft drink habit.

Well, I am back off to work. I'm going to try to post more often, but work is so busy off and on that it is hard to take the necessary time out to write to everyone. Have a great day!

Kristi

RE: Adding protein

Hi everyone! Wow-chocolate free week!!! Fun-Fun!I was out of town all last week-so i dont have any workouts to post.We were in the mountains -so I did alot of walking, bike riding, and jogging. So that was kinda a nice change.
I have a question-did you all shed a ton of hair after you had your babies?I was wondering how long this goes on...hopefully not til you are bald!!
bye for now!

Postpartum Hair loss

Hi Smiley2! Yes, excessive hair loss is normal during the postpartal peridod. This loss after delivery is compensation for the below-normal hair loss during pregnancy. Basically, it is catching up with the loss that would have taken place without pregnancy and should end 6-12 months postpartum. If you have any concerns, check with your doctor because hair loss can also be a symptom of various diseases, such as, hypothyroidism.

Oh, the mountains. We lived in Colorado for almost 2 years! I loved it! I miss those mountains sooooo much!

Take care!

Autumn

Melanie,LOL!!!! I know what you mean. I was picking up yesterday, and Sydney had left a bite of Reese's PB cup behind... and you know the outcome. :) I was good until about 15 minutes ago when I opened the Trader Joes cookies... I had to know if they were as good as the ones with hydrogenated oils. }(

Hotspur, you and Sydney would get along great! She loves ice cream and pizza. i have pictures of her just over a year old with her spoon... eating ice cream with her daddy... usually out of the carton. She could eat it everyday, just like her daddy who will let her have ice cream for breakfast. :) A serving of dairy he tells me. :)

Oh, my lil dancer is home. Gotta run!

RE: Postpartum Hair loss

Hi Autumn-ya that makes sense-that was one of the awesome things about being pregnant too-you didnt shed a bunch and didnt hardly have to shave!!;) I am not concerned about it tho-just kinda wondered how long it usually lasts.:)
I agree with you too- i looooovvvee the mountains!!!
