Morning, cheetahs, and happy Friday!!

No AM workout for me today. It’s yoga/stretch day, so I’m not concerned about saving that one for the evening.

Shelly :: If you change your mind about applying for the Jersey nursing license, let me know. In my old life, I worked for the government and may be able to help you out with the expediting on that. :) Philly would be SOOO close!! You would certainly have more opportunities to frequent Cathe’s classes. :) :) :) And, as Wendy said, I would *love* for us to GTG!

Sunny :: I don’t know about IC#2. I don’t really have room over the weekend b/c I’m one workout behind and need to double up. I have some new pilates tapes I want to squeeze in, too. But soon!...Have a wonderful trip!!

Lori :: Great job on your longest TM run!…glad the knee pain was just a fluke.

Wendy :: Can’t wait to hear what you think of the 10 Min. series. That one piqued my interest. How’s DH feeling today?…Thanks so much for the good wishes about the boards…’preciate it!! :)

Christine :: Nope, didn’t do anything for V’Day here. Some single girls at work joked about going to a singles event in Philly called “The Mile of Meet,” but with it being on a Thursday, we all just had too much going on this week…Yeah, I’m a big believer in the little perks going a long way with employees. Case in point: in my current school, we can wear jeans and sneakers on Fridays, and we get an early out. (We can leave right after the busses do.) SUCH a sweet little perk! Do a little nice for people, and I believe they’ll work harder for you. Ha on the beer tents. Isn’t it funny how Europe is so different? I bet that would never be considered “appropriate” here. Thank God it wasn’t a quake the other night!…Not sure about the six-count issue with the Bosu. Last time I did cardio on it, I was just doing my best not to bounce into the TV. *lol* “Ready to face the chocolate of the day?” Too funny! I indulged yesterday, too.

Lorie :: great workout! IA with your sentiments about V’day over on the OAL thread. It’s not a big deal day to me at all.

Carole :: I really have to check out this Quorn stuff. Boy, you punished the entire body y’day with that workout.

Judy :: how was the fundraiser?

Jackie :: you know, I hate the leg presses, too. There is a serious dread factor on those for me. The workout went well yesterday. I think I can get the hang of the AM workout thing. The way my rotation is currently set up, Mondays are full rest days and Fridays are yoga/stretch (which can wait til the evening unless I have plans), so I only need to make myself bite the bullet 3 days a week. That’s not bad. Any plans for the long weekend?

Posh :: no worries a’tall on the personals…it’s good just to hear from you…good luck with the transitioning…sounds like you are plenty busy…and big CONGRATS on the smaller pants size. There is nothing more glorious, is there? :7 :7 :7

Dallas :: oh my, MORE snow? You are really getting slammed. My plan yesterday? I worked out early – did 4DS KB and 20 min. on the EXT.

Good Morning!

Waiting to go home but not going to bed. Had a pretty easy night so I plan on keeping DS home with me.
Im not 100% sure what todays workout will be. Im thinking some cardio from 4DS and maybe another full body workout, but truth be known I need to work legs more so then UB.

Hi Girls.

Well DH is still sick so it's highly unlikely the ski trip will happen. The icing on the cake is that my back up plan fell apart as well. The A/C trip my BF and her friend were planning was cancelled. ;( They are still thinking of hanging out though so I should still have something to do. I also emailed my mom (she's a big A/C fan) and asked her if perhaps SHE'D want to go to A/C with me. I'm so bad!}( I'm very disappointed about the skiing thing. I hope we can make it once before the season ends!

So unless some miracle occurs between now and 2pm, it looks like I have a date with Core Syn today. I'm not gonna nix it unless I think I'll be on the slopes tmrw. I have Tracey's kickbox work out waiting in the wings as a possible add-on to CS if I have the energy or as my cardio of choice for today if that miracle actually happans. ;)

I only have a second for a quick fly by...I'll be back tonight to catch up on all the action. Canada was such a welcome rest, even with the sub zero temps. I got in a killer workout, had some AMAZING food and lotsa quality time with SO. I just don't want to go back to work right now....*insert Tantrum Girl*.

i am hoping to get in my tt workout later now but of course can't promise that as i still have alot of stuff to get done today before leaving for california!!

yesterday i got a mani and pedi and today is hair and eyebrows. my dh is not going to recognize me:7 :p

Cathy...I really do like the Quorn products, but I do wish they sold more of them here. I did end up putting off the leg workout. The run in the wind wore me out! Enjoy yoga or stretching later today.

Wendy...good job with the iTread yesterday. Yesterday I ate after my run and then about an hour later did weights. Sorry about the ski trip and the A/C plans with your BF's falling thru! I hope you can find something to do with DH sick...have fun with Core Syn.

Lori..high 5's on the 12 miles!!! So, no after effects after not eating the oats....:D

Wendi..glad you had a great time in Canada. I bet it was tough to come back...

Sunny...I hope you and DH have an awesome time in PS...The weather should be great!!! See ya tues.

So I didn't do any legs yesterday. Today I will do L&G standing and 40 min on my EXT...DH got me some beautiful flowers for V-Day...

Morning Gals!

I didn't get my lazy behind out of bed...on purpose this time. It will either be an early rest day or I'll try and squeeze something in when I get back this afternoon. Dh and I are going out with another couple tonight and it will be a late night, so sleeping in seemed more appealing. ;-)

Carole ~ The kids enjoyed the cookie. :) Yeah, I would think running in the wind would be all you need! ha ha! Did you ever have set backs while seeing the chiro? I sure did over the weekend. What a pain in the neck...literally!!! UGH! It feels fine after Wed adjustment, but worried that it will happen again over this weekend. :( Hey, maybe I'll try the Pain Free for my neck! :) I did do a lot more yoga last week....he said no yoga right now. :(

Sunny ~ Enjoy your trip! **See** you Tuesday!

Wendi ~ I bet it's tough to get back into the swing of things. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Cathy ~ IA it's tough getting up early every day. I'm thinking I may change one workout to the afternoon each week....like today. ;-) It doesn't help that the bed and covers are so warm, and it's so cold right now. No, the snow didn't come....WHEW! I guess the temps are going to fall again...just in time for the weekend. :(

oh boy, do i not want to get moving today!!! i don't have to "be" anywhere until noon and i wanted to wake up at least by 6, but that just didn't work out. as far as a workout, i am thinking about a steady state run and GS BSB & CT. i went to the physical therapist (i had the script because of my hip and piriformis stuff and, even though i feel 100% better, i didn't want to cancel). she said all the stuff i had been doing (using the ball and the foam roller, yoga, stretching) is exactly what she would recommend. she did say that the issue she has seen most with athletes and injury is that they try to jump right back in to what they were doing before, which is exactly what i did. i hurt myself on that 12 mile run, then, i didn't run for a month and once i felt better, i ran 7.5 miles TWICE! she said just to add on slowly. so, i have done 3.5, 4.5, and 5. i am planning on a steady state 5 today.

anyway, i think it's about time i did personals!

shelly-so no move to NJ. i think it's odd that they would make it so difficult for nurses when there is such a nursing shortage! makes no sense!

judy-so, did your wallet survive or did the alcohol and the school win out?

wendy-i am so sorry your plans have changed. hey, if i lived closer, i'd go with ya!

kristi-awwwww...your vday surprise from DH was so sweet!!! i think we are all klutzes at one point or another. you should see me with some of those standing yoga poses!!! my balance is terrible!!!

christine-yes, that's usually how it is with me. i'm so not motivated, but once i get started, i feel great and usually have one of my better workouts!

jackie-how is yee's yoga for the back? one of the things the physical therapist said is that a lot of hip problems actually stem from the back. i notice my lower back hurts sometimes. maybe i should check that one out. let me know what you think of it. i have heard mixed things about rodney yee. i am SUCH an eoin fan!!!

carole-OMG...that recipe sounds soooooo good!

posh-don't worry. we're all busy! we know you love us!

dallas-i know what you mean about hills. it's funny, i HATE and DREAD hills on the TM but LOVE them on the EXT. what's up with that?!?! sleeping in ALWAYS sounds more appealing! ;-) especially if you are going to have a late night tonight. have fun!

cathy-i really liked what liann or emily (gosh, i can't remember) said about vday. i think i want to do that from now on (make it a day to tell your girl friends how much you appreciate them...make it a girl's holiday!!!). love that! have fun with yoga/stretch. do you have a date with eoin?

Wendy - Great job on iTread #19. I can do a couple of Amy's abs with the BB the way she does and then I have to get on my knees. Too much on my hamstring. Sorry the ski trip didn't work out. But it sounds like you have a fun back up plan.

Lori - Congratulations on the 12 miles! Great time too. Glad the knee is ok. Hope you enjoyed your laid back evening.

Posh - Ouch on the shots! Way to make it all better with a stop at Liz Clairborne. Congrats on being a size down. Good luck with the new job.

Dallas - That hilly and steady itread is a tough one. Good job with it. Enjoy your night out.

Lorie - Enjoy your yoga day. DBF should be coming this weekend. Glad you're liking the AM workouts. We will probably take in a movie and go to dinner. I'll also use the extra day to pick out some more things for the house. I like Rodney Yee's yoga for back. Just a lot of stretching. Thought it was good for my hips, hamstrings and back. It's only 22 minutes long. Once I get past him being half naked, the workout is good.

Wendi - Glad you had a fun trip to Canada and got a good workout in. Enjoy your day at work.

Sunny - You will be beautiful for your trip. Hope you and DH have a safe one and lots and lots of fun.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I slept in the morning – ahhh, it felt wonderful! Today will be a run and kettlebells. I do hope to get to Target to get more kettlebells, but that won’t be until after my workout most likely. I can use dumbbells for some of it. Hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day! DH and I went to lunch at an old favorite restaurant where we sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous day. It was really nice. Then we made a really nice dinner last night. It was a nice day.

Cathy – I agree with the idea of perks going a long way towards employee loyalty. Nice of your school, too! It’s so much more pleasant that way. Could you imagine the LAWSUITS that would ensue if someone put up a beer tent at an elementary school event? We’re pretty uptight on this side of the pond. :p Yeah, I get the “Bounce into the TV” fear, too. We also have a pipe that is low right in the center of the garage (where I work out), and I also have a fear that I’m going to bounce into that! I indulged a bit yesterday, too – that’s okay – it’s Valentine’s Day! Back on the strict diet today.

Lori – Great job on the 12 miles!! When are you running a half? :p Glad you had a good day at the office.

Wendy – oh man!!!! I’m sooo sorry the ski trip will likely be called off!! Hope you have fun with CS and that you get to A/C this weekend!

Wendi – I was wondering about you! Hope the foot is better! Glad to know Canada was fun and that you got some great quality time with SO!

Carole – PW, my local source for Quorn products, told me that they stopped carrying them! Grrr! Now I HAVE to go to Whole Foods – and our Whole Foods is a zoo! I hate going there. Oh well, I will. I did pick up some soy, just to tide me over. I will not go to Whole Foods on the weekend! Have fun with legs! Thanks for the recipe! Sounds delish!

Dallas – Nice to sleep in occasionally isn’t it? We’re going out with another couple tonight, too - have fun! Ours will be a fairly early night – they’re early risers too, so I expect to be home by 10.

Lorie – Good news about the PT – glad you’re doing the right things! Glad you were able to get motivated yesterday! Oh, Eoin calls it a “Downward Facing Cheetah”? How too cute!! I may have to get that one.

Jackie – Way to go on feeling good on week 2 of P90X! That is such a tough program!

I’d better get moving. We have an appointment at 11 to go over refinancing the home equity loan at a lower rate. Then we’re going to lunch again, then I’m getting my nails done. Enjoy!
 
Good morning all! One night off and it's back to work tonight. I only work tonight though and then I have a 4 nite stretch off:)
I plan on accomplishing some major yard clean up getting the house ready for putting on the market. Got in a pretty good sweaty intense run on the TM yesterday. I did iTread#17, never done it before and it was quite intense, got in 5 miles in 43 minutes so I was happy!
Also did LIC upperbody circuit.

Jackie- Still planning on a 6 mile run tomorrow outside? hope the weather is nice for you. When will your new house be done anyway?
You should be pretty busy with moving yourself soon.

Lorie- Very good strategy to be gradually getting back into running again! I had a severe groin pull injury that I was recovering from this time last year and I was also very cautious, increasing very slowly.... I ended up with racing PRs in the 10k and 5k a few months later... so keep it up! Love the Downward facing Cheetah BTW!!

SunnyD- Sounds like you are all fluffed, puffed, buffed and READY for PB!! :* :* :* You'll knock em dead.... have fun!!

Wendi- Welcome back working cheetah! I am so glad to hear that you had a good restful time.... even tho you got in a good workout too... but I consider that to be restful anyway;-) Hope work goes smoothly for you.

Cathy- Thank you for your kind and considerate offer to assist with the licensing! I think I'll stick with this new plan for now, I'm kind of looking forward to the adventure of sort of living on my own for a little while. Yes, I picked Philly to work in exactly because it is near Cathe's gym. Definitely looking forward to some GTGs.

Dallas- Nice job with the challenging hill Itread yesterday! Are your legs feeling it today? Probably not with all the stair climbing you do. You must have legs of steel!! Hope you have a nice nite out and the weather cooperates for you.

Carole- I'd rather face rain or snow any day rather than wind on a run!! I hate that... it really is quiet draining. Great job pushing through it though. I did L&G a few days ago... great leg burner.

Christine - I didn't know your bike was broken! Poor thing... you must be getting some serious Spinervals withdrawals! I was tempted yesterday to try LIC on the bosu but didn't. You make me regre that! I'll go for it next time for sure. Have a good run and KB workout.

Kristi- Yikes! Sorry to hear about your accident falling on the DBs right on the ol keester!!:eek: :eek: Sounds like something I'd do!

just another reason to love eoin...downward facing cheetah! volume one is different from YFH because eoin is teaching, not doing, and he talks about the poses and the theory behind everything more than in the other one. also, not all the poses are as difficult as YFH. some of those are hard to do.

so, workout report: 5.5 mile steady state run in 50 minutes. i was determined to stay at a 9 minute pace. no pain to report yet! then, instead of GS i did 4DS upper body premix. i tried to go as heavy as i could. tomorrow, i am thinking about cardio and B&G...YIKES! :eek:
 
Hi Again!

Just back and having a little lunch before I leave again. Now I know why I work out in the weee hours. ha ha! There's no time later. :( Anyway, had another chiro appt and he adjusted my neck again. I'm thinking a good massage is needed. ;-) I'm so bummed that it's giving me trouble again. I'm thinking starting a P90X rotation may have to wait until the neck issues are completely resolved. :( I've never done one, but aren't there a lot of pull ups/push ups? If I can't do yoga probably shouldn't do that either??? At least I can run & spin still!! :D

Lori ~ Way to go on your run! Yeah, it seems like a "sleep in" kind of day! Sounds like you've got a good handle out what you need to do for you hip. :) IA start out slowly. It's so hard, isn't it?? I'd love to get some EXT time in....just need to get to the gym more often.

Shelly ~ No, my legs are fine! I'm really surprised. I was expecting some DOMS because last week's run in with the stairs got me good! }( Don't think it's "legs of steel" though. I wish! ;-) Nice job on the iTread!!! Fast Cheetah!!! :) Getting the yard and house ready is a workout and a half. Good luck with all that.

Christine ~ ha ha! We should be home between 10-11p too. LOL! I'm a wimp. Wow! You're already getting more kettlebells? Have fun at your nail appt. I had one too this AM. :)

This has to be a fly-by post for me but I'll be back later to catch up on the personals! I just finished Core Syn since there will be no skiing tmrw. There MIGHT, however, be skiing on Sunday so all hope is not lost yet!!!:D :7 :D :7

I really had hoped to do a half in the spring but wasn't finding anything in a good location at a good time so I am sure that this will suffice!;)

Okay, so I really missed my Cheetah fix for the few days that I was away. Actually, while I was doing my workout in my hotel room (the gym was waaaay too crowded for the workout I'd devised :eek:) I couldn't help but think that you guys were probably the only people I know who wouldn't have laughed their butts off at what I was doing. I think I got pretty creative with just a band, 5 and 8 lb DBs, chair, bathroom door and my igloo cooler. Here was the workout (and one I will definitely be doing again!!!)....

Cathy - Nice to hear that you're joining us morning folk ;). If I don't workout first thing it don't get done :(. Plus, it gets me revved for the day. I couldn't help but think of you (and Wendy) as we drove through the Adirondacks...absolutely breathtaking with all the fresh snow!

Lori - LOL about the BM2 mix up...yeah, I was thinking "Is she insane!?!?!" The cardios from 4DS are the best aren't they? Soooo, what did you end up doing? Great 12 miler...WTG!

Wendy - See that, you asked for a miracle and it looks like it just may happen :D. Oh, great for you for entering that race! I'll be running that one with you in spirit!

Sunny - Congrats on the full house at your total body class!!!! That must have been such an amazing feeling to know that your class toatlly rocked!!!! I hope you have a great time in CA!

Carole - Those windy runs are TOUGH! Yeah, the drive home got kind of depressing the closer we got ;(...way too short for a vacay. Awww, how nice of DH :D.

Dallas - Sorry to hear of your neck pain. I hope it clears soon. Is it just a flare up or did you injure it? Have fun tonight!

Lorie - Thank you sweetie! It sounds like you're on top of your rehab...good for you! I applaud you for beign so diligent and patient with your recovery. Had to LOL at the downward facing Cheetah!

Christine - The foot is doing great, thank you! Actually, I ended up having to do a bit of running (literally) around at the barn today and I never felt so much as a twinge. Of course now I'm wondering if that HM is still a possibility????? Oh, it sounds like you had a wonderful Vday with DH! How is Jimmy doing? I was so worried to hear that he had a blockage. Give him lotsa scratchies for me!

Shelly - Heehee...I consider a good butt kicking workout to be "rest" as well. There is definitely something wrong with us! Sorry to hear that the relocation isn't going quite as planned :(. I love your plan though and hope you are able to make everything work. Enjoy your 4 night stretch!

Hi to Judy, Kristi, Posh, Linda! I'm going to get my buttski to bed. To be honest, I'm a little worn out from chipping at all the ice/frozen snow in my driveway that greeted me when I came home. Good night folks!
