Fit for Xmas 12/12

Good morning...

Today is Step Blast or All Step for me and then upper body. I feel the same way Sabine- I was so good yesterday until last night. Someone had given my mother-in-law homemade fudge and I had to try it (peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla)... I lost count. Today is a new day, new start.

Sabine, I read your post from yesterday- I actually got out an old Gin Miller step rebok tape (advanced I think) that wasn't bad for a change of pace. Otherwise, I have a million other tapes but have only added the Firm in the past months along w/Cathe. I think they're great for a quick toning session but as someone stated in a video fitness review, they are very "Stepford wife-ish"... no real emotion and they don't seem to sweat.
I have a few Kathy Voight tapes that I need to pull out- I think I remember her being very good and controlled.
 
Hi everyone,

I did Charlene oxygen in calories out this morning. Tomorrow will be Power Hour, then a rest day.

I was doing well eating this week until last night. We had lasagna for dinner and then hubby wanted some cookies so I baked some and I had two of them. I won't be too upset but today we are going to Macaroni Grill for a going away party so I have to be good. I am planning on eating none of that fabulous bread and just eat the meal I get. I hope I can stick to that.

This weekend I need to go Christmas Shopping. I can get it done in a short amount of time but it is just getting out to go. I may be the one of a few but I hate to go shopping so it is a chore for me to at any time of the year.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will try to check in but we will see what the weekend brings. We have a very slow connection at home so I usually don't surf too much.

Hey Lori have fun shopping with your daughter. (forgive me if you already told us but..)how old is your daughter? My youngest is 20 almost 21 and I like to go shopping with her, even though I'm not too fond of shopping in general. I may get a chance this weekend. She just returned from 3 1/2 months in London. (I'm in Florida)

And that is why I didn't work out this morning. So she wouldn't be disturbed at 5 am.

Lori can you share the leg rotation? I'm not fond of working legs. Mine have always been kind of skinny with little or no butt. They are better now then ever but I could still use a little help.

Brenda as far as KPC goes, to me, the trick with it is the more you put in the more you get out of it. And the key seems to be holding your abs tight. Well, that is an oversimplification. Or maybe you just don't like kickboxing.

I was thinking of posting a topic about a bizarre incident in my area. I'm a little shy about starting topics though, and I don't want to sound like a ghoul. So I'll sound like one here instead

A 27 year old mother was out for her daily jog at 6:30 am on Tuesday 12/9, about the time it starts getting light here. It appears she was NOT wearing headphones. A 40 foot Magnolia tree fell over on her and killed her!!! City workers came to clear the tree out of the road and discovered her body. Now how's that for a long shot!! It would be much easier to be struck my lightning - in the desert for heaven's sake!

and I'm adding, well Rhonda, if I had baked those cookies, I would have eaten (no lie) at least 5 baked and probably about the equivalent of 5 in batter. And Brenda I LOVE peanut butter blossoms (those cookies with the kiss in them) MY mom makes them REALLY good and I'm betting she will have some on Christmas.

Happy Friday everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well and is getting ready to enjoy the weekend.

Today was MIS for me. Man, I am already feeling it! I upped my barbell by 5# for all the lower body work and got through it okay. My knees did feel it right after I finished the leg section and seem to be doing okay now. I'm more concerned for how my butt and thighs are going to feel tomorrow morning:eek: ! I also kept the bar heavy for chest, back and part of shoulders and man, does my upper body already feel it, especially my shoulders. By the time I got to biceps I could only do one set of crazy 8's with the extra five pounds before having to drop, my upper body was fried!!! Also could only do one set of tricep kickbacks with the 8# and had to drop to 5# for the second set. Overall, I feel pretty good about the effort and think I'll be feeling this workout tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm adding a cardio workout. Still undecided as to which workout I want to do. I'll have to wait and see what strikes me at the time (step vs. floor, intervals vs. hi/lo, oh the choices).

And I hear those of you who hate holiday shopping. I find myself very intolerant of large crowds and people who have no clue what they're looking for that clog up shopping throughways, etc. I did a lot of my shopping online or went during the week after work. I have very little left to do, just some treats for my cats and my 'god' dogs, and some odds and ends for my parents. The next big challenge is wrapping everything I bought! UGH!!!!

Would love to see you guys check in over the weekend. And will understand if all the holiday activities keep y'all away. Either way, have a great weekend.

Good job on MIS. That tape is so long that by the end whew.
I'd love to hear about your cats and dogs! But that will have to wait because I have no computer at home and I won't see you guys until Monday!
