Fit for T-Day......weekend edition

Cathlete
Hi everybody. It's almost 2pm here and I'm the first to post? HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING???

Sugarbean Lisa----my boys' BDays are 12 days apart in October, so I feel your pain! LOL

Long story short? I survived the sleepover, as did all those boys! LOL It was LOUD, and LATE. But it's over. They didn't get to sleep till after 1:30am and they were up early too. I waited till the last one left and I told my kids (and the 1 boys that stayed later) to stay out of the basement for 75 minutes because this momma needed to workout! LOL

CCPP....DONE! I added on an additional challenge that others 'tempted', and did FABULOUS! I felt SOOOOOOOO strong.....this was my best CCPP Saturday EVER! I felt awesome! I logged over 7.3 miles and loved every single second of it.

I'm tired. And I FEEL worked out, and that's a good thing. Older DS is out with a friend and younger DS is at another friend's house.....so.....I'm going to sit down with my book and relax the peace and quiet I have in my house FINALLY!

Gayle

Great job, Gayle! I've been on the run all day and am about to leave again. :( I hadn't planned on this but still might get a w/o in tonight. Just didn't want you to be all lonely here today. :D

I'll check back later this evening! Have a good one.:D

I have been super-lazy today. It's all rainy and gross outside. I'm trying to get amped up for the CCPP workout today. I used to do these while running, but lately I've been doing them as a jumprope workout, which I really enjoy. Mmm...feeling better about doing that now, actually. I LOVE jumping rope!

I actually ended up having a piece of cake yesterday! But it was part of my weekly cheat meal, so it's OK. It was TOTALLY worth it. Ha!

Good luck, all!

Lisa/Afreet

No w/o today. It looks like it's going to be a rest weekend.:p

Lisa, planned cake is always wonderful! I've never even considered jumping rope to CC.

That might be fun. :D

UGH! I just lost my original post! :(

If it weren't for the fact that the TV set and the refrigerator are so far apart, some of us wouldn't get any exercise at all. ~Joey Adams

that's totally how I feel today! DH and I found a new burger joint down the road and decided to splurge today! we generally go out to breakfast, but I had to go into work today for a bit, and got out of the house before he was ready... I'm miserable and bloated, especially based on the fact that it was just OK...

Gayle! OMG! you are a machine! I'm so PROUD of you and your mileage today AND the fact that you survived the sleepover! quite an accomplishment on both fronts! You deserve a nice rest!

Lisa: I am in the same boat with the lazy day! I haven't been able to get off the couch since we got home... I SO need to do laundry and vacuum! the dust bunnies are taking over!!! have you managed to get your CCPP in yet? I will try to work out later if I can ever get motivated to move off the couch rather than just into another position!

Rhondalyn: sorry you couldn't squeeze in a workout today, but sounds like you were still on your feet, out and about! Nothing wrong with taking a few days of rest... sometimes I see the best weight loss after resting for a few days and then getting back to it hard :) Enjoy it while it lasts!

BBL to check on y'all!

BBL to check on y'all!

Rhondalyn: It's taken a long time for me to accept and love my rest days. I used to think I just had to work out almost every day to keep my momentum. I am much happier now (and so are my muscles and joints). So...huzzah for rest weekends!

Gayle: Sleepover and then workout? You have more energy than...something with lots of energy. Definitely more energy than I had today.

I ended up squeezing in a long dog walk at the park between rain bursts. We ran after many squirrels. Does that count as intervals? :D I just couldn't muster the energy to really get pumped about my cardio workout today. Eating was just OK. I'm psyching up to get back on track tomorrow...

Tomorrow, my sweetie and I are going hiking with some friends! I'm really looking forward to it. And it'll be in the mountains, with LOTS of hills. So I'll make up for my ridiculous laziness today. I even took a totally unnecessary NAP today. SUPER. LAZY.

Hello T-dayers!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday, we had soccer games all day with my two kids, and then I had to get together everyone's hallowe'en costume for a party last night. I was Wendy and my husband was Burger King (my kids were a princess and a scary football player).

Banlsug,
GOOD JOB with the workout. You are a motivating force. I just went for a walk yesterday b/c it was all I could muster, today, Imax2 for sure!

Rhondalynn,
I hope you really enjoy your rest weekend and don't feel guilty, guilt is never restful :).

Good/Puppy Lisa,
I hope you have a wonderful time hiking- are you where you can see the leaves change? Maybe that's what we'll do today after cleaning the house! I had a "planned cookie" last night, a sugar cookie shaped like a pumpkin. We went to a Hallowe'en party, and there was FC everywhere! I was proud of myself for choosing just one cookie. There was also grapes and cucumbers that I snacked on. The hostess also gave us a bunch of cookies to take home, and I couldn't refuse for the kids' sakes, so I put them all in the freezer. I think that will work well for me because I will feel like a fool eating a frozen cookie, and the kids can have one in the their lunches etc.

Dbelden,
I hope you too have a restful weekend. I can relate about the bloated part, I have been eating WW core foods, but it seems that the ones I have chosen are completely full of salt, and I feel awful. Now I have to find things on core that taste reasonable and aren't totally full of salt. And let's not forget drinking water!

Goals for today: Imax 2, timeline for work project, cook salmon and pumpkin gorgonzola pasta for lunches this week, clean the house with DH, laundry, wash sheets, thank you notes, bonus: oil change. Also, drink 100 ounces of water, and eat no salt and see what kind of difference it makes.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, talk to you tomorrow!

Goodmorning weekend T-dayers!

Sugarbean: WTG on only eating ONE cookie?!!! I would have been DOOMED! Kept yourself moving yesterday so that is almost as good as a workout! enjoy Imax2 today!

I will be in the cleanmax, laundrymax and packingmax! I leave tomorrow morning for Dallas/Frisco TX for another 4 days on the road! UGH! I always get tripped up when I travel. I still have my Cathe DVD's packed and taking a band with me! hopefully I'll get more than one workout in this time!

Hope we all have a good day & eat healthy and exercise (or rest) strong!

Hey guys! Happy Sunday! I"m excited right now because I'm using my NEW LAPTOP! New to me, anyway. My SO is a 'computer geek', as I call him and he's in charge of his company's computer system and he's a programmer. He refurbished a handed-in laptop and brought it over for me so my kids and I don't fight over the PCs in the house anymore! LOL

I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Lazy or not. That's what a weekend is for. I'm glad I got CCPP in yesterday when I did, because when my kids were both out of the house for about 5 hours....I sat on my butt and read my book! LOL For 5 hours! With a hot cup of green tea! I tried to take a nap too, but I was WIRED and I think it was from that workout yesterday!

Today.....laundryMax. Later we're taking all our kids to play racquetball and then hit the local mall so I can pick up the new pair of cross trainers I've had my eye on. I am treating myself for surviving the sleepover! LOL NOt to mention that I'd love to wear these new sneaks to Cathe's gym tomorrow for the kickbox/boot camp I'm hitting! I'm super excited. I'm going to pack my bag as my clothes come out of the laundry so I'm all set for the trip.

OK..time to relax some more! LOL

Gayle

Hello Everyone!

DBelden- good luck with your max-packed day! I am impressed that you are going to bring your WO with you! Which DVDs are you bringing? I'll bet San Francisco is beautiful now!

Banslug-
Whoa! You're going to workout with Cathe?!? How do you go about doing that? Are you a member of her gym? I am somewhat of a Cathe novice, since I just discovered her in August. What kind of trainers are you going to purchase? And what book are you reading? I am just about to start a historical fiction series by Philippa Gregory. Sorry I am so full of questions today! I'm waiting for my DH to wake up and the Scooby-Doo movie to be over so I can do Imax2.

I made balsamic/olive oil low sodium broiled salmon, and it turned out really good. My daughter, however, who is normally very well behaved and sweet, threw a fit about how it smelled, and went out in the backyard in protest. Kids. I also made pumpkin gorgonzola pasta, and I am not sure how I feel about it yet. It think it needs some smoked turkey, so I might re-make it after Thanksgiving. I will wait for the tastes to set and try it tomorrow. Also made apple crisp to put in flax cereal in the morning this week.

HI Lisa: I just hope I have enough room in the hotel to be able to do a workout. Not sure I will be as lucky to have a nice aerobic room as I did a few weeks ago on my last trip!

I am packing KPC, BC/ME with band, a TaeBo workout and 10-minute Trainer from Tony Horton... some of them do require weights, but I think you can pretty much modify most exercises to use the band instead... Now, all I will have to do is DO them!

actually Frisco is just north of Dallas... I thought San Francisco too when they first told me where I was going... not sure what the weather will be like, but guess I need to find out so I know what to wash, let alone pack!

let us know how you like your pumpkin/gorgonzola pasta is tomorrow... it always tastes different after it sits a day ~ most get better with age! DH just purchased the multi-colored spirl noodles to make a pasta salad of some sort although he puts all kinds of "healthy" stuff I just can't make myself eat (onions, peppers, etc)... I make pretty good pasta salad too, but mine isn't exactly clean or diet appropriate! :( should try it with olive oil in lieu of mayo, maybe that would clean it up!

Lisa-that salmon sounds DELISH! Is a recipe you can share? I'm not a member of Cathe's gym. I'm meeting a few other members of these boards there tomorrow. It's about a 2 hour drive for me (hopefully, without any of the business traffic near Philly), so I'm making a complete day of it. Driving there, working out, having lunch with my friends, then some Christmas shopping before I get home around 6 or 7pm. My mom is covering my kids to get them on the bus, off the bus, and dinner and entertainment till I get home! LOL I'm very lucky and we're planning a luncheon again in December! As for my cross-trainers, I'm getting the Nike Reax, as long as they still have my size. I'm super CHEAP, so I've been putting it off because they're $75, but I also know the importance of treating our feet well! So we're going to play racquetball for a while and then hitting the mall before they close.

Dani-safe travels....and get that workout in or you'll have to report to us that you skipped it! LOL ;)

OK.....getting laundry done while checking on a fellow Catheite who's running a marathon today!

Gayle

Hello Ladies!

Dani,
I know you'll do those workouts, KPC is an excellent choice since you don't need a step, which is why you picked it, I'm sure of it! Have a nice safe trip!

Gayle,
The salmon turned out really good which surprised me b/c usually I like to do a soy/ginger marinade, but I'm trying to cut out salt, so I used 1/2 c balsamic, 1/2 c water, 4 tbsp olive oil, 4 tbsp of maple syrup, and 4 or 5 cloves of chopped garlic, brought it to a low boil, and put the salmon (a little over a lb) in for 5 minutes each side, covered. I counted points for the oil and the syrup, although I'm debating, because you don't eat most of the glaze... I'm still getting used to counting the points.

Hope you guys have a great rest of the all too short weekend,
Lisa

hi ladies. looks like you all had a nice weekend. i myself had a very nice weekend with my family in the keys. we caught and released a few sail fish and the weather was beautiful. i'm happy to report i had a cheat meal last night and it didn't turn into a binge. i ate mindfully and when i felt myself satisfied and stopped eating. this is a huge accomplishment for me. it was so great waking up this morning without the guilt or bloat of going on an all out binge. I had 2 rolls, 2 chonch fritters, 1/2 of my parmesan encrusted grouper, mabe about 10 of my sweet potatoe fries and my veggies. its such a mind game controlling this binging. but with the right thinking, i will get control and lose these 10lbs!
