Fit for C & H Sunday

Happy Sunday ladies! I have the itch to workout today but i'm not sure what i'm going to do. I think I may do muscle max but we will see. Mabe i'll do cardio? Decisions, Decisions. Dani, I think i may try to change my workout time. I'm just not enjoying getting up so early anymore. Bottom line is you have to fit it in. I'm no more tired at 5 in the afternoon than i am at 5 in the morning. Plus, i can always make time to workout in the evening even if its 9 at night. I just sit on my butt at night anyway. I'm having some cravings today and i'm not sure why. They are annoying. Not going to give in though. What are you ladies up to today?

Alright, bad confession. So i decided that i would do CC#2 After this workout i did workout#2 from coremax. I was feeling good. Had my post exercise workout shake then i was STARVING an hour later. So i made myself a huge salad with grilled chicken. Well after that i was still starving and i just wanted to EAT! so i ended up eating about 2500cals of granola cereal. I feel defeated and terrible. I can't believe i did this. I was doing so well controlling my eating binges. So now its time to analize why i did this. For the most part i think its undereating and intense exercise. All the cardio coach workouts and living on salads i guess completely depleated my body even if i had a cheat meal on turkey day. Any advice. I just don't feel like i will ever get this extra weight off. Its so frustrating to me.

well, giving advice to you from me would be similar to a raving alcoholic giving advice on how to quit drinking to another alchololic... just doesn't work...

All I can do is empathize with you... I have been on a binge for the last 4 days!

starting with Thanksgiving day, we ate cheese and crackers, olives, pickles, etc while waiting for the birdies to get cooked... DH made a yummy sweet thai chili cream sauce for anything/everything dippable, cornish game hen, broiled red potatos, garlic roasted asparagas, hawaiian sweet rolls and apple pie w/ LF vanilla ice cream... oh, forgot the potato chips and ranch dip.

Black Friday: coffee with heavy cream and 3 tspn sugar, 2 mini-bagels with margerine, PB and honey mixture, lunch was Tuna salad on left over sweet rolls with cheddar cheese (lots of regular mayo) and chips... snack was 2 jumbo pretzels (with salt) dipped in left over sweet chili cream sauce... cheese and crackers for dinner... picked all day at left over pie!

Saturday... started with more coffee/cream/surag... lunch at our favorite pub was turkey club with bacon and fries (even a free side of cheese sauce - gee thanks!) and diet soda... THEN, we hit the theater, for xtra buttered popcorn, diet soda by the gallon, and a partial MOVIE sized box of Milk Duds... didn't have the energy to eat dinner... continued to pick at what was left of the pie, and finally just threw it away... only the undercooked crust left anyway

(you feeling any better about your binge yet?)

So far this morning, i have had my usual weekend coffee concoction, another double dose of pretzels and cream sauce... now reading your post, I feel AWEFUL!!! And the sad thing is that I'm sure I missed lots of stuff in between!:eek::eek:

Tomorrow (yes, another starting over Monday) I will try to get back on track... not sure what that track is, but anything better on this binge train is a step in the right direction...

Maybe we should start a journaling section to our post and list everything we are eating as well as what workout we did? whadda ya think?

thanks dani! your right, tomorrow is a new day but its so hard when you feel like pooh today. i'm sure our bodies needed the extra cals anyway. no use crying over spilled milk. i'm not going to compensate with more exercise either. i'm thinking though that CC may not be good for me as the intensity makes me crave more junk. i think its a great idea to list foods eaten. i'm going to stay on track for the rest of the day. When i look at the grand scheme of what i ate, i think that it equates to gaining 1/2 lb which is no biggy. so i'm thinking of this for my rotation:
monday: back and biceps; 30 min ss cardio
tuesday: standing leg work; 30 min ss cardio
wednesday: 45 min cardio; kickbox or CC
thursday: triceps and shoulders; 30 min ss cardio
friday: leg floor work; 30 min cardio

This way my cardio aren't super intense and i can get them in more frequently. What do you think? I also think that i need to work on my diet a bit more and make it more balanced. I get 1500cals a day which may be low for me. Plus i need to eat more frequently.

I think Carola is right (from other OD binge confession post :)) that we shouldn't continue to beat ourselves up. it happened, it's over, hopefully, and we do have control over what we do with the rest of the day! I do agree also, that calorie levels are probably too low, but I would have to argue a bit that it is still a simple equation of more calories burned, overall, than what is taken in... My guess is that we need to calculate how much we are burning, and then adjust accordingly to what we eat. It has been a common practice to create a deficit between your caloric intake by approximately 500 calories per day (through both diet and exercise)... and I'm sure it has MUCH to do about WHAT you eat, not just the total calories... I could easily gear an 1800 calorie menu (as an example) over LOTS of junk and stuff that is bad for you, but the trick is to make the most of the 1800 calories!

I have also read about some success in varying your calorie intake throughout the week, not sure how to do that, but it makes sense, that your body gets "used to" a certain caloric intake and will plateau, just like with exercise, which is why it could be argued that you would also very your calories as well as your workouts...

our goal is to determine what works best for us... my issue is that when I don't see immediate results, I get terribly disappointed and give up on whatever it was I was doing... I feel it is a pretty significant victory for me to work out most of the time between 5-6 times a week! for longer than a month (going on almost 4 months now!) And have said that I was taking baby steps in dealing with one area at a time... that it would be too overwhelming to make so many life changes (exercise, eating, etc) all at once, and was told by my Dr. to make a list of things about my health that I wanted to change, and then do it... once I succeeded in one, pick another, and so on.. again, one step at a time... So, now it is time to focus on my eathing... I know that my hard work doing Cathe and other workouts would be greatly enhansed if I ate better...

So, question is what are we gonna do about it? I'm going to do some more research today about how to make small dietary changes and see if I can find a way to start eating "cleaner", more frequently, and make better food choices... My major issue is that I am a veggie-phobe! Just one more thing to add to the list!

hang in there... we can do it together!

Thank you so much much for this supporting post! The goal for the rest of the day is to keep a positive mindset and drink loads of water. When i get hungry later i will have some veggies and protein. I'm kicking the diet soda/splenda habit as of right now as i feel its making me crave more.
