Fit bit vs Ipod tracker

I've always used my Ipod nike tracker to keep track of miles/steps while walking outside. I recently won a Fitbit Zip. I had both on during my walk/jog today and I'm just wondering which do you think is more accurate? The fitbit says 4555 steps/2.4 miles, my Ipod says 4730 steps/3 miles. That's 175 step difference and just over 1/2 mile difference. I'm not sure which to use. Any opinions/thoughts would be great.

Thanks
Kim

Ummm, I'm not admitting to anything but I may or may not have mentally counted how many steps it takes to reach 2 miles while walking at a 4.0mph pace on my treadmill. I average about 1250 steps/10 mins at that pace, so to reach 2.0 miles I usually take about 3750 steps.

Obviously this is just based on my stride length and speeds, but extrapolating from that I would say that the fitbit is more accurate--but not by much.

From what I know, none of the fitness trackers are 100% accurate so I would just go with whichever one is the most comfortable to wear, has the features you like best, etc.

Forgive a dumb question...but what is an iPod Nike tracker? a piece of equipment or an app for an iPod?

I have a special edition IPod nano that is a clip on ipod like the shuffle. But it works like a nano and one of the icons/apps is a "fitness tracker" from nike. When I tap it, I can select walk or run and it will keep track of steps, miles, & time. It will automatically down load to an nike website for fitness if I wanted, but I don't use that. I hope I explained it right.

I think I'm going to use the new Fit bit zip. It's smaller and I don't want to wear down my IPod too much because they don't make this style anymore. I was able to do a bit of research last night and I think you are right that the Fit bit is more accurate. Thanks for the input.
