. . . my head out today since I'm 7 hours ahead of even those of you on the east coast! ;)

Just finished Muscle Max. All of you talking about it yesterday and day before reminded me of it, and I pulled it out. Good, solid workout. I sprained my wrist several weeks ago and am still recuperating the arm strength I lost during recovery. But I had a good workout. And almost no doms after my run yesterday.

Karin--I'm with JJ. A foam roller is an ABSOLUTE must for ITB band tightness, if you don't have one. It has been my workout salvation! I actually started a whole thread in OD a couple weeks back called "Singing the Praises of Foam Rollers." :)

Peeps

Good Morning,

Laura I had to check the time when I saw that you had done MM already. I forgot you are in Uganda. You need to tell us a little bit more about it. What's it like? Do you like living outside US? :D:D

I was up early to do LowMax. OUCH.
I need to be ready for Cathe on Monday. I'm so far behind from being sick. She's gonna kick my butt!!!! I'll let you know how the class goes. Amazing that it's not packed. Even when me,Jerry and other tri staters go! Those fools don't realize they are working out with CATHE!!!!:eek::eek:

Gotta get the boys ready for school. BBL

Morning peeps!!! Where's the coffee:confused: Dragging on this cool fall morning. It's getting so hard to get up and going. When is the time change? Is that in a couple of weeks?

I have my PT session with KB Kate this afternoon  I am not sure if I will w/o lightly with some cardio this morning or not. It's looking like not

Ellie, LM gets in there good. I am always suprised when I hear people talk about LM being easy and not getting their HR up  It gets mine up there. Then I remember a good bit of those peeps saying that are much younger than me :p

Laura, I think MM is the perfect TB w/o.

Hopes all of you peeps have a great day!!!

Catherine,
I'm soooo glad you said that!!! LowMax hurts. I think it's one of her hardest. And I'm 40 something too, nothing to do with age. CATHE is tough in that one

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Good morning! Happy Friday! I woke up with a food hangover this morning. I went on a chicken bender last night. Yes, chicken. I was craving protein and bought a rotisserie chicken at HEB last night. I bought the plain "original" variety to avoid MSG and food allergy triggers, so I do not think that is the problem. My body is craving protein and heavier food on these cooler fall days, but my system does not process meat well for some reason. I need to limit it to a tiny portion and buy the organic air-chilled variety (which is way too expensive). Can I freeze the rest of this chicken and eat it later?

Laura, it is a Muscle Max week for the Peeps! I enjoyed that workout Tuesday morning. It is definitely one of Cathe’s masterpieces. I do not say that about many weight workouts. I love Supersets, Muscle Max, Butts and Guts, and the 4-Day Split! I hope STS is enjoyable too. I am glad your wrist is feeling better.

Ellie, I believe Cathe would have a full house if she taught on the weekend. Even if I lived close enough to attend her classes, she teaches during work hours. You are brave to attend her boot camp every month. I love step and kickboxing and would love to attend her Friday morning class every week. Her boot camp workouts are fun if you are light and fit. But they are super intense torture when you are carrying the equivalent of an extra person! Ask Cathe if you can wear one of the 10-pound vests Monday. Then imagine that times 10, and you will know how I feel during her workouts! It makes me nuts when people tell me how "easy" it is for someone my size to lose weight. I wish I could make them wear a weighted fat suit for a day and see how "easy" it is to exercise at this size!

Catherine, the time changes the first Sunday in November. Personally, I am looking forward to spring! Yes, Low Max is a great workout. Have a fun Friday! Give Bisquit and Muffie hugs for me!

Hugs and waves to JJ, Judy, Karin, LaDonna, Robin, Wendy, Vilma, and the other peeps who visit today.

Blessings,
Heather B.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

Heather,

I can honestly say that I have never found a Cathe workout EASY in any way!! And I have much sympathy for your situation. When I was pregnant with both boys, I had huge fluid increases and 10 pound babies. I remember trying to walk around the block!!! It was very hard. Everything was very hard. Not just the pregnancy stuff, but the extra weight. I gained 40 pounds with both and it was an effort to walk from the kitchen to the living room.

Not everyone loses weight at the same rate, or has an easy time with it. You are doing everything you can to get healthy and that's wonderful. Keep up the good work. :D:D:D

HI Peeps~ Happy Friday:D

Laura I just did MM on Tuesday and I agree....it is definitely a favorite in the total body category.

Ellie You are so lucky to be close to Cathe's gym. Have fun with Jerry and the others going with you on Monday. Let us know how it goes:)

Catherine WooHoo...today is your KB session! Please report back so I can live vicariously thru your experience;)

Heather I just love reading your posts! Your kindness and honesty always come thru. I would never call a Cathe workout easy but some just seem less deadly than others;)

Waves HI to Robin, LaDonna, Wendy, Karin, Judy, Vilma, Kel, and all who follow.

Any fun plans for the weekend?

JJ

Hi Peeps!

The Lasagna did NOT get made yesterday. I forgot DS15 wanted Power Balls for his tournament this weekend. Making them takes a bit of time, but they are a great recovery snack.

Laura- I am *thinking* about tackling a half marathon. I am not really a distance person but I have gotten up to 10 mile runs. Wendy ( Fit_Mommy) has provided me with a link to the Buffalo Marathon/Half Marathon, but I do not want to do it alone or on a course with out fantastic crowd support.

Catherine- How often do you have PT sessions with KB Kate? I did AOS Firepower twice this week for my weight work.

Wendy- Thanks for the food links. I'll probably wast alot of time on those sites this weekend!

Robin- I was sabotoged by DD17. She did not give me the headcount until after I agreed to host:confused: Hey why do't you start running and come run a half with me?

OK I am stalling butI needto get those Lasagnas made. Yes I am doing one tray of the Spinach Alfredo and two trays of traditional but meatless

Hello Peeps

Well I got up at 5am as I usually do to get the kiddos up and ready for school but I felt like I just wanted/needed to crawl back into bed.

I think its the dark mornings and PMS thats making me feel like I just want to just hide in my bedsheets. Not good as I also suffer from depression and I feel it looming. Looking back I now know my bad eating is due to TOM coming in a weeks time for me blech.

Thankfully my dh works the night shift and he was off so after I got breakfast & lunches done I went back to bed and he took the kids to school this morning.

I am now up again , just had me some eggs and coffee to help stimulate my body to get moving so I can workout and feel good today.

I'm thinking I'll be doing my CC 20m.HITT mishmosh and the follow up with The Kettlebell Way :)

That should help get my butt back in gear.

Laura I would love to hear about your life in Uganda - that must be something.

I lived in England for a while actually thats where my oldest two were born.

We lived in a beautiful quaint little village in Oxfordshire outside of London that looked like it was lost in time 50 yrs back. We found out most of the villages stayed that way due to WWII Blitz.

I would love to just go back and visit one day.

Ellie Oh LowMax is a sneaky one and a real burner :)

You are lucky to have the primo best as a teacher Cathe - Oh I would love to have her lead a class I'm in, but I'm so darned shy I would just stand quietly in the background and watch instead.

Catherine
I'm with you, I've been dragging tons this week and I don't like it :( I am drinking my coffee but I still find I'm having a hard time getting up & going also.

Looking forward to hearing how your KB training went - boy I would love it if someone in my area was a RKC- that would be so great to have someone look at my form and just teach me correctly, alas I depend on my dvds for that.

Heather Hello! I think I have carb coma going on this week, my eating is just not good I have been eating more carbs (potatoes) and protein (steak) and not enough fruit or veggies. I seriously need to start journaling what I'm eating again. Thanks for the tip about the cucumbers I never knew that they help relieve sodium bloat.

I agree Cathe workouts are not easy at all but I push myself through them and compete with myself.

Lately though I got a bit of burnout from working out solely to Cathe for the past 5 yrs so I just recently switched up to kettlebells and TMruns, but I'm missing KPC so I may do that soon

JJ Hi ! You sound so energetic today. Did you workout today? What ARE your plans for the weekend? lol

Tomoorw morning I need to drive my 16yrold DS to his school as he''s taking the PSAT but no other plans just clean house, laundry and take care of the family.

Judy
How is Firepower? I only have LaurenBrooks dvd and The Kettlebell Way with AOS Newport thats to be delivered (need to call that company and find out when my order should be here) I really enjoy kettlebells and see myself doing the workouts for a very long time.

That Spinach Alfredo lasagna sounds yummy.

Off to grab another cup of coffee and post in my other checkins -

Have a beautiful Friday & weekend Everyone!

Hi peepers! It’s a beautiful day here in CO. It is supposed to be 71 degrees today so I hope to get outside and eat my lunch. It’s always nice to get a break from this building. I had a really busy day at work yesterday, but it was also really great. I found out that 3 of my manuscripts were accepted for publication and I am so excited about that. I am going to celebrate this weekend.

The leaves have started falling here so I need to rake a little bit this weekend and trim back some bushes. I also need to fertilize the lawn for winter and then I think that I am done with yard work for the season. Thank goodness! I am not really one of those people that enjoys gardening and yard work.

I think that I am also going shopping this weekend. I didn't really buy any clothes last year since we just moved into our house and I really don't like most of the tops that I have for winter. I am hoping to find something at Target, Eddie Bauer Outlet, or JC Penney so that I don't have to spend a lot of money.

Tonight I am going to do B&G floorwork and some body weight upper body exercises (dips, pull ups, push ups). I’m also walking home from the bus stop which is about 20 min. I wore sneakers today so I can make it into a little cardio workout.

Anyone have any big plans for the weekend?

Laura – yes, I do have a foam roller. Since I was away from my house last week, I didn’t roll out my IT band and it’s letting me know. I rolled it out last night, but it seems to take a few days to be back to normal. As far as my job, my research is looking at toxic components in cigarette smoke and determining how they affect the function of cells in the lung. We have some interesting findings and this job is anything but boring. What languages do you speak? I have never become fluent in another language. I am always so impressed by people who are bilingual.

Ellie – thanks for the offer about meeting me for a Cathe class. I’ll let you know what my schedule looks like. I grew up in Washington Twp and they still live there.

Catherine – I was dragging this morning too. I am so annoyed because I had my lunch on the table in a plastic bag and grabbed the wrong one which had my DH’s bagels in it. So, I left coffee creamer and my yummy lunch on the table at home. I am so irritated!

Heather – Sorry about your food hangover. I know what you mean about carrying excess weight and exercising. It isn’t easy, but I am hoping to get some of this weight off soon. My eating has been horrendous!

JJ – thanks for the foam roller tip. I do roll my IT band out and I find it’s really the only way to loosen it.

Judy – when is the half marathon that you are thinking of doing?

Vilma – I felt the same way this morning. The only thing that got me out of bed was that it’s Friday.

Robin - Are you going to watch the PSU game tomorrow? I am so excited that it's on ESPN so that I can see it. I normally can't sit through a whole game unless I am actually at the stadium so I tend to just watch the last half. Some kind of fan I am, huh?

Hola Peepers! :)

Today I did 4DS Shoulders and was halfway through the LIS abs when Houdini began screaming at her door. Yesterday was wheels off for us--she had her flu shot (that went over real big...yeah right!) and took NO NAP the entire day! I took her outdoors because it was nice and cool in the Dallas area yesterday, and she played and played and played, and then when a neighbor stopped by to chat she took off running down the street and I had to bring her back...repeat that...so we go inside and Houdini is furious and begins to throw a fit (she'll be 2 in December, can you tell? LOL!) Then she nearly fell asleep at the table, was cranky the rest of the night, etc. I put her to bed a half hour early but she stayed up talking to herself. But Grandma has just called in that she's taking a nap so HURRAY we should be back to normal tonight.

Our weekend is insane. Do you ever overschedule yourself and forget what you've committed to? I have somehow committed to going to TWO different pumpkin patches tomorrow. One at 10AM with her playgroup pals and the other at 1:45 with her godmother. How did my brain not connect these dates? Oh, well, the weather is nice, she is out of DH's hair during the Iowa-Wisconsin game (he's a HUGE Hawkeye fan) and she's not old enough to tell her godmother that "I've already been to one of these today!" LOL! Then Sunday is church and all my errands and I'm already overwhelmed. OK, deep breath. I can do this! I only have ONE Houdini so I can do this, right???? Tell me right!!

Laura--I would love to get together with other Cathe friends in the North Texas area. Just let me know the next time something is scheduled. How fun!

Ellie--That is so cool that you are able to go to Cathe's gym! I would love to go on a roadtrip sometime, but I modify so much that I would NOT be able to keep up in a live class...Sigh.

Catherine--I hope you found a big o' cup of coffee this morning! LOL!

Heather--Hey, where are you in Texas?

JJ--What are you doing this weekend? :)

Judy--Enjoy the links and I wish you happy lasagna making this weekend!

Vilma--I felt the same way that you did this morning--I had to FIGHT every urge I had to go back to bed at 5:30AM...but since Houdini gave me a few days off this week, I MADE myself get up.

Karin--Are you an author? That's so exciting about your manuscripts! What do you write?

OK, I'll be back later. Work is crazy busy today!!

:) Wendy
