First Pilates class!

I finally bit the bullet and gave it a try - a fitness pilates class. I have been pushing so hard in the gym that I wanted to do something that didn't involve my heart falling out on the floor or sweating buckets ;) and OMG I loved it! I never realized how much you can work your core without anything at all. I loved the slow & controlled movements, the deep stretches. I have really come to appreciate functional fitness workouts like never before. Yeahhhh...I definitely need to incorporate this more into my routine. My abs will be talking to me for a while :eek:
 
I really like pilates. They have an entire room at my gym dedicated to it & it's a great w/o. But they won't let you by yourself, you have to actually pay a PT to work out w/you. I did a 6 session package a few years ago & it was killer.

I expect in 10-15 years I'll switch from weight training to pilates full time.

Debbie, if you want to try it at home there are some great DVDs out there. Kristen McGee's MTV pilates mix is awesome, & I also really like Ana Caban's pilates for abs.

Oh, & a certain Cathe Friedrich has a pretty intense w/o on her ab circuits DVD. ;)
