FIRST Pilates Class

Cathlete
Well, I finally enrolled in a pilates mat class which started last night. I am definitely committed to giving this "the college try"! I also rejoined Weight Watchers Online - so, hopefully, by April I will be able to see a "glimpse" of a waistline! Also purchased Mari Winsor's Pilates DVDs - am hoping to do these 3x-4x a week - which means I will probably have to cut back to 2x a week with weights, but I will keep my 3x a week going on the Elliptical.

So....I will keep you all posted on how I am doing with the Pilates class.

thats about what i am doing right now. only doing heavy lifting 2x a week and the rest is light weights and pilates. i was seeing some results before i bloated up and started eating junk this week. i am sure its just water weight b/c TOM is coming up but my legs were looking leaner and my abs were getting some defintion. i also have been using matwork and pilates ring work. i just got it so of course i have been trying it out alot :). i am pear shaped so while my lower body was getting better my upper was losing its defintion so for next month i am trying to put something together where every parts gets the best work it can. even if that means i have to cut back on cardio to fit in i will. just have to make sure that diet is clean.

i am glad you liked pilates though. i wish i could find a good studio that used a reformer in this area. so far only the YMCA offers pilates and they only use rings and mats. i do enjoy pilates its like a cross between yoga since i am more focused on breathe so i let go of other stuff, but yet its a tough core work then can test strength. i really do enjoy it but try not to over do it b/c i love my weights too and can't negelect them.
