First Lady Fashions at G20 summit

Umm - not trying to pick on her but these are less than flattering. Where are Clinton Kelly and Stacey London? Perhaps the 360 degree mirror should have traveled to England.

I was never a fan of the red/black dress she wore on the night of the election but that really has been her only big misstep.

And is it me or is her sweater rather funky looking in the back . . . ?

However - this outfit looked rather nice.

Oh God, can you imagine trying to pick an outfit for such an event. I'd lose my mind. Then to have the press rate you publicly. Yikes.

Michelle's top in the first picture is a bit odd, but she still looks beautiful. She looks so pretty in pearls! Sarah's dress doesn't seem to fit very well. At little adjustment there would have helped a great deal.

The first outfit looks like J Crew mixed with something that it shouldn't be. I have no idea if the sweater is JC, but the combo is wrong. She looks frumpy, and I think she usually looks marvelous!

The second outfit looks like it doesn't fit her right.

The blue dress is fine, its the sweater that doesn't go with it. Maybe it was chilly? The blue dress of the woman with her is horrendous, though. I like the black and white dress, but it could use a little more pizzaz. Perhaps some colorful jewelry instead of pearls?

Shoot, I don't know. Its hard to judge others when I KNOW I've gone out in some terrible outfits. You ever have one of those days, you get dressed, you think you're hot stuff, then you catch your reflection somewhere and its like WTH?????

Wear what makes you feel good.

Nan

I think she looked gorgeous, as always. The first sweater w/the pearls was J Crew, they said it sold out within an hour of it being shown on TV. Which has me kinda bummed b/c I'd like one for me. The second outfit was designer (can't remember the name), but the cardigan over it was J Crew again.

J Crew must be loving Michelle! I think she looked great as always- her confidence is really what makes her look so good all the time. :D But darn it, she makes me want J Crew and I am TRYING to resist the urge!

LOL! I'll be on ebay the next month or so looking for that sweater, & I bet I end up paying twice what it originally cost. :p

I think she is really trying to look elegant and hip...she has a hard body to dress, long legs, arms, large hips and butt, smaller upper body...I was impressed at how put together she looked actually. She had some missteps like we all do, she needs someone to help her out a bit perhaps but overall I am really liking Michele.

I agree with this. She has loooong legs, short waist and narrow shoulders. I think that combo makes her hips look wider than they are.

It's not a matter of how much class she has or how gorgeous she is - the clothes don't look all that hot on her. The sweaters look rumpled and pulled. I am glad to see she isn't dressing in frumpy suits and such but these in particular are not flattering.

I'm no fashion expert, but I'd love to get the chance to help dress Sarah Brown. Whoever is doing it now needs to be shown these photos.

The Canadian PM's wife gets a *thumbs up* from me for her pretty blue coat and scarf.

I enjoy seeing a photo of all the wives. I'm not sure how comfortable they are in this kind of situation, but I'm a girl's girl, so I'd have fun at something like this. I'd also probably unintentionally break a lot of rules (not unlike Michelle hugging the Queen). :p

OMG Klaudia, I tried Spanx once--what a torturous experience! They cut off all the circulation to my feet.:D;) I think the same man who invented high heels invented Spanx.

OK I checked the beaded sweater on J Crew's site. It's a cotton sweater for ummmmmm $298!!!!!!!!!! I'm no shrinking violet when it comes to spending on quality clothes, but no way am I dropping that kind of money on a cotton sweater!

Yeah, Laura, they're definitely not the most comfortable things around, but they sure do help smooth out the lumps and bumps:)

I love widow shopping on the j crew website, envisioning a life where I could wear (and afford) the outfits. Sigh. Maybe one day.

Actually it was a women who was turned away by many manufacturers. Finally someone bit and the company is now worth over 100 million

The First Lady isn't formal enough for my taste. I would favor more stylish suits - than these sweater ensembles. I also am not a fan of going sleeveless so often - not because she doesn't pull it off - she does rather well - but I also think it is too casual and isn't she cold? I feel sleeveless is also a summer look. She should at least wait a little bit.

I detested that J Crew ensemble she wore yesterday. Today's outfit was another bad choice. I thought the dress wasn't too bad but the shoes definitely didn't match and the sweater wasn't terrible it just looked ill fitting and pulled. She also didn't look comfortable in it. Sarah Brown looked horrible in her dress.
