I bought and tried No More Trouble Zones yesterday. I have to commend Jillian Michaels for having the only workout which attests to improving trouble zones, that can actually do so. I like that she states that "there is no such thing as spot reducing", and that if you want to improve an area of your body you must burn lots of calories, eat well, and tone the area with weight training. Finally! An instructor who doesn't pretend that just doing sit-ups will give you a 6-pack! I appreciate her honesty.
Having said that, I wasn't too thrilled with her personality. A little too street tough for my taste. I certainly prefer Cathe's style, but then, style doesn't mean that much to me if the WO is good.
I think this WO will give the vast majority of women what they're looking for: weight and fat loss. Jillian knows what most women want, and she delivers. But you REALLY have to work for it. At first, I thought the circuits were kind of fun. I love the combination of squats with arm work. But as time went by, I found myself wondering when the circuits would finally end. The WO is supposed to be 40 minutes long, but maybe that doesn't include the 5-minute warm-up? Anyway, I finally lost count of how many circuits there were, and then I stopped because enough was enough.
The good news is, I don't have to do the entire WO all at once. I can see doing maybe 3 circuits per day. For me, that's the only way this WO is going to be tolerable. But I do think I'll use it.
If your primary goal is weight loss, you might want to give this WO a try. It moves quickly, but I never felt that I was losing control of the dumbbells, because the dumbbells I used were relatively light. I stuck to 3,4,5 & 6 lbs. weight exclusively, and still felt the burn. But most of all, I felt the calorie burn!
