First Day of P90X . . OMG

I did chest and back yesterday . . Holy Cow am I sore. I despise push ups but did them anyway and my upper pex are feeling it today. Also did Ab ripper X. My gut isn't sore at all.

I was sore the first day too!! The first place I felt Ab Ripper was in my hip flexors...took me awhile to get the moves down...Good luck with it. great set of workouts!!...Carole

Welcome to P90X girlfriend!!! Isn't it grand!!! Yeah those push-ups suck, s do the pull-ups..if you think that workout is hard wait until you get to the Chest, Shoulders and Triceps rotation!!!!! LOL!!

I LOVE P90X!!! It has given me so much muscle growth and definition...I am on phase 3 week 9..I am doing 8-10 reps with heavy weights..and I am loving the results that Iam getting!!

Are you doing the classic rotation,and adding in Cathe? Are u
lifting heavy with 8-10 reps or lighter weights with 12-15 reps?? Are you following the diet as well??? Do you plan on doing the recovery week...I highly suggest it....Core Synergistics is incredible!! I skipped the first recovery week,and continued the first rotation one extra week...I really wish I would have taken that first recovery week..I kinda thought that the recovery week was a joke..it is not..trust me!! LOL


Today I will be doing Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X and later today 30 minutes of HIIT on my Elliptical machine.,...Yes I am doing doubles..weights am/cardio pm or vice versa..

I had more pain in my hip flexors than my abs with ARX. It literally took me a few days to work of the soreness on that one! ;)
 
Yes, Chest and Back is a pretty tough intro to the rotation! I personally was intimidated by it on previewing, so I left P90X on my shelf for weeks before I decided to try it, then I kind of started "in the middle" with Shoulders and Arms (much less scary!).

I had the same experience others had with Ab Ripper X: I felt the first three exercises or so more in my hip flexors than my abs at first. Just keep doing it, and soon you'll be able to engage the abs more. Strange thing, even though "Ab Ripper" often ended up being "Ab Skipper" for me, I had great results in the ab area (probably from Core Synergistics and the Plyo workout as well).
 
Hi Dawn! Welcome to P90X world!! I had completed the Classic rotation last year & since then I've compiled both HC's & P90X together into a rotation. I love both of these programs & just couldn't do a rotation of 12 weeks of just one program.

ARX definitely gets better & even easier when you keep doing it 3x a week for 12 weeks. You'll even be adding on more reps if you can believe that. Good luck & enjoy (well sort of) Kathy;)
 
i'm on the last couple of days of week 3, phase 1! i was thrilled that cathe had me so in shape and ready for this workout! the only thing i can't do: pull ups (have to use a chair and do them assisted) and crane (but i held crane for 3 seconds today... the rest of the time i end up balancing on my toe! lol!)

same here with ab ripper X... felt it/feel it in my legs! it really killed me the day i came home from a 56 mile/5000 foot of climbing bike ride and had to do it! lol! but as for the moves and my abs themselves.. i was doing the arms in the air move the first day.. (thanx to cathe, i'm sure!)
