Firm vs. Cathe?

Cathlete
I have The Firm BSS1 and BSS2 - and used BSS2 and lost some inches and weight. At that time, I found Cathe and was inspired by how fun the workouts were - and challenging. Since my honeymoon in March, I have completely stopped working out and have gained like 6 pounds and lost some of the muscle tone I worked so hard for. I am just having such a hard time getting started again. Cathe's workouts are so challenging, and I wonder if that is subconsciously making me skip my workouts. I know that bottom line is that doing anything is better than doing nothing, but do you think that doing Cathe's workouts would have better results? I would like to lose about 30 pounds and tone up.

Either way I find myself wanting to keep buying more crap - the new transfirmer...Cathe's new videos - when I *KNOW* that the answer is not in the next magic box...what I have at home will work just fine!

Just wanted to get your opinion on whether either system would provide better results...or if going back to the Firm might help me work my way back up to being able to do Cathe's workouts better...

Thoughts? Thanks!!! I know this is rambling...I feel so confused!

Cathe has her step fusion and can't think of the others, but she has some that are great workouts just not a difficult. She also has 3 new dvds coming out that you could start out with. Then you can work yourself up to more of her complicated ones.

As long as you can do something that keeps you wanting to exercise and not give up. Any tapes you enjoy and have, do them until you think you want a more challenging workout.

Nah!!! Don't buy more crap. Just get Cathe. You can always moderate. There is NOTHING wrong with that! Also, you have us that you can always can come back to & get a whole bunch more ideas! ;-)

I can say Marla is right. I have all of cathes videos and I won't do any other instructors tapes. I have a bunch of others but they are collecting dust.

Hi Amy - if you really want them and pay for mailing I'll give you ALL of my Firm stuff. I was a solid firmie for years - till I doscovered Cathe last Christmas. Haven't looked back since. I will tell you that a friend of mine got the new BSS 4 with the transfirmer and let me look at the cardio workout with Stephanie and Allie's jiggle free abs. Suffice it to say that Cathe apparently has a different definition of cardio than the firm does. :)

the FIRM has helped 100's of people achieve health and fitness....so many beginners find the FIRM thru infomercials, retail etc.....and you can always HEAVY up the weights with the FIRM

BUT..........cathe is more comprehensive, as she does hi-lo, step, kickboxing, strength, and endurance weight work. she utilizes a stabilty ball. IMO, she fatigues a muscle more thoroughly.

I freely spend $$$ on fitness, so i continue to buy many workouts, inclduing THE FIRM, but if funds are limiting you......its cathe all the way!!

cathes dvds are chaptered so well and many have excellent premixes, and have a lifetime guarentee

there is so much arguing FIRM vs CATHE on the FIRM site, collage and even the yaya's from time to time. i hate that, as fitness can be achieved thru many routes.......us here just prefer cathe..LOL..sorry for the soapbox;-)

If she does not want them, I will pay for mailing. I have done my first Cathe and did pretty good, but am trying to build back up my Firms that I was forced to sell a while ago.

IMHO Cathe will give you better and quicker results.

However.......I have been on a short, forced lay-off from exercising, so today I chose something I thought would ease me back into it: Step Blast plus some CTX Abs. I really had to work for it, and wasn't able to complete all the Blasts as I usually can. Very humbling. I'm ok with that; it doesn't discourage me because I know that I will be back where I was. But if your mind is gonna play tricks on you and make you feel inadequate at all, or there is a big "dread factor", I would say ease back with the Firm for a bit and see how you feel. Your muscles will remember, and you'll be ready for more challenging stuff pretty quickly.

Personally, I do not think you would be too happy with the Transfirmer system. The box thing is an improvement, but the cardio is just not there if you are above the beginner/low intermediate level. I gave mine away after trying all the workouts once.....
