Firewalkers - using stronger band yet?

I'm curious, has anyone moved up from the green band for firewalkers yet? I LOVE this move and am very tempted to start using my purple band (which is the next step up, resistance-wide).

Experiences??

Marie

Marie, all I can say is that you must be outta your flippin' mind, girl! LOL The green band is PLENTY resistance for me and I'm not ashamed to admit either! :+

Hi Marie. Yes - I use the purple band and one day when I was out of my mind I tried my blue - I did it, but I was completely fried afterwards. I don't reach for the green one at all anymore. It is doable.

Lorrie, you're my hero!!!!

Wendy, you're one to talk! Every time I see you on a thread you're adding some new activity, lol.

And mklap, yes, there are different resistances available for band work. You can check them out at fwonline.com. (Their prices are pretty reasonable for the six-foot length.)

Okay, okay...so I'm a bit warped and demented in my own right! I guess we all are in our own way so I say GO FOR IT! Find the strongest dang band you can buy and do those firewalkers with it, Marie!}( }( :7

OK that's it, I'm using purple this week. I don't even know why I haven't tried yet, b/c when I do them I keep thinking "jeez, these aren't so tough, what's the big deal?"

I guess it's time to embrace Marie's challenge.......;-)

Laura, dearie, how tightly do you wind the band? Because I noticed this on my second go-round, then realized that because I'd left the stupid thing tied (thinking that would save time), I realized it stretched out. Ergo. Now I tie that sucker TIGHT! But I am still interested in doing these with a stronger band just to see if I can walk at all afterwards. }(

What do you say, when are DM or B&G next on your rotation??

That's what I this past Saturday with the green band. I tied it so tight that it took a lot of a$$ (literally!!) to step to the side. Silly me for not thinking of using a different band! Next time! Thanks for bringing this up as it's always nice to find new ways to torture ourselves even more!}(

I moved up to a blue banf by Giam, not sure if its the same as the purple dynaband. But I can tell you my legs are on fire when I am done. I am begging for the end to come.

It's pretty darn tight. It has to be b/c my band is pretty short--about half the length of Cathe's (speaking of, I noticed it tends to slip when I wear pants but stays good & snug when I wear shorts) You have to bear in mind I lift at a gym--I leg press like 270 & squat about 170, so while I can feel the burn w/the firewalkers I don't really find them challenging.

I don't have B&G--I'm assuming it requires things like barbells & such which I don't have b/c of space issues (OMG my handweights were sooooo cold on Friday when I did DM! I felt like Flick from A Christmas Story LOL). But if you can think of any other workout that just requires the light handweights & bands please list them b/c I'd like to give 'em a shot.

I've been using the Red Band and Blue Band lately. I haven't tried the purple yet. I have the set of Spri Rings....they go Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, and Purple. I don't rememeber seeing a harder one.
