Ok... this is a huge milestone. I finished the 4th week of CTX. I feel so much better (energy wise) and clothes are fitting great :) This is after over 1 year off and MAJOR person tramuas (Son with life threatening medicial situation, mother's descent into the depths of mental illness) but I really really am back :)

Now I'm trying to decide if I should do Blast, Intensity, or mix and match. Decisions, decisions

Also I'm thrilled my son had a very good 6th month check up with the neurologist - Joy Joy

My project at work is getting huge visibility - weekly reviews with the SVPs

and I'm getting really close friends with a guy at work :)

and have grown so much as a person (spiritually as well)

Thanks everyone for your support and prayers and good thoughts over the last year.

hi robyn

thins seem to be looking up for you. sometimes when you grow spiritually it shows your strength and how to look/deal with situations thrown at you in life. and great news about your son. i wish nothing but the best from here on out.

as for you workouts maybe a mix match. cardio and weights is a great workout and then you have imax2 for your once a week interval fat blast then everything else is just what you feel like for cardio and weights. you can always modify when it gets to hard,no shame in that.

good luck

Thanks Kassie and Carole

Really appreciate it.

Carole - you are always such an inspiration to me - especially your abs ! You are up early for CA huh.

Yep it's kinda cool that all this is coming together, agree with your philosophy, kassie.

I must say the guy friendship is kinda nice too ;) so easy to talk about stuff - just nice

Thank you Robyn...:)...you are sweet. I have always been an early bird. 5 AM every morning...

Thanks Debbie - you were one of those really supportive people I was talking about.

Thanks so much :) Yes I so appreciate things after all we have been through and yep the friend is nice!

Now to plan week 5!

So nice to hear how much better you're doing!! It's amazing what exercise can do for us in terms of mental health, but I know it's hard for me when I'm going through tough times. The last couple of years have been that way for me.

Yay for 4 weeks of CTX!!! :D

Have you considered going through Cathe's rotations and picking something?? There are so many to choose from now, there's bound to be something that motivates you. Could luck on continual personal and fitness success!

Sara

Thanks Sara and Kim:

Sara: You are right so many choices to chose from! I really want to do Imax2 - so probably will start with that tomorrow

Keep up the great work!

Do you mind me asking, what was the turning point for you? What made you decide that it was time to get back into it?

Just curious. You are an ispiration!

Hi Stepper:

Thanks for your post. Interesting question, I'm not quite sure, if I can pinpoint why I was finally able to make the comeback this time and not the others.

Certainly reaching the year mark from my sons initial diagnosis (in July), my mother getting the help she long needed, my daughter losing 26 lbs and going back for her sophomore year, changes at work all played into it.

Mainly I was at a place where I could again focus on working out, I had been totally in survival mode the last year. My son started nagging me to workout with "where is m Mom who always worked out." So I think having him coax me on (showed he was ready for us to get back to normal). I know we may still have tough times, maybe breakthrough seizures and in a few years brain surgery but we will have the strength to deal with it. My spiritual growth has helped so much as well - I am able to find a place within where I can really see things in perspective, refocus, and get strength. Interesting I'm finding now I have so much to give to others. For instance a friends husband had a brain aneurysm that ruptured. I am able to offer her some comfort as they go through rehab (even though my son's didn't rupture). I value things so differently, the superficial is so less important.

The funny thing is that somehow my body didn't change much over the year, only gained 4 lbs and same size etc so that wasn't so motivating plus my appearance is suddenly so less important, a nice side effect but not key.

Anyhow after a week or so, I started feeling much more energetic, was able to deal with work stress, folks started saying I looked younger. Plus I missed being an active part of the forum with all of you.

Wow... that was long! Probably way more than you asked for!

Have a great day!

- Robyn
