Finally can do ALL of Butts and Guts!

Hi everyone,

I am so proud of myself! The only thing is, I still can't get through the floor work with ankle weights on, and I have to pause the player and stretch between everything in the floor work.

Has anyone else had a tough time with this workout? How long does it take for your leg muscles to get stronger when you're following cathe's rotations?

Congrats! Isn't that a great feeling?!

I rarely do all of butts and gutts (it's overkill IMHO--plus, I like the Leg Blast premix MUCH better!) Don't worry about not using ankle weights and having to stretch. I didn't use ankle weights for years because I didn't own any! I finally went and bought some and did B&G with them and it wasn't that much harder. I couldn't believe it! I also have to stretch after many of the floorwork exercises. I get all cramped up!

Alright! Congrats! Butts and guts is a tough one! I love it for that reason. Don't feel bad, I don't use the ankle weights either. Don't need them - still get a nice burn.

Yes, I have trouble with this workout too, it is because my legs are more suited for squats than lunges. If I do lunges I get really sore for a longer period of time. Lunges, E-vil. I like squats.

This is such an awesome workout. It just takes time. I did the whole workout last night with 5 lb. ankle weights on each leg and it was TOUGH....first time...had been using 2.5lb on each leg like Cathe. However, this is not to say that I get through all the reps like Cathe does. There are a few exercises I stop short by 3 reps or so. And, that squat/lunge segment with no weights. I'm still trying to get all the way doing EVERY single rep.

Oh, and B&G? Kills me. And I have thighs built like a Mac truck.:D The Leg Blast in particular makes me see little stars around my head towards the end.}(

Hey Tneah!!! You're so sweet! I just saw your post and I'm blushing!

Actually, I have gotten that comment (about Jennifer Aniston) quite a few times. It's such an honor! Honestly! I'm all giddy now. Thanks for the compliment! (That's how I take it, at least--I think she's pretty;)).

Oh, and those kids are my nieces--and that sexy guy you commented on is my SO. (Hopefully soon to be DH....hehe;))

For those of you who have been doing Butts and Guts faithfully--have you noticed results? If so, how often do you do it? Believe it or not, this is one work-out that I have yet to open!! Crazy, I know. I have been thinking of doing it regularly to get more toned for bathing suit season, and am just wondering what kind of results people have seen. Thanks for any input!

I don't do it regularly enough to "see results" :) but I can vouch for the fact that it is a killer, awesome workout! My lower body does well with low-to-no-weight leg workouts. This one is definetely an endurance workout.
