Is it just me or do cramps get worse the older you get? They catch me so off guard now days they literally make my knees buckle and I have to hold on to something...

I mean geeeesh...enough's enough already...;(

And forget about midol and exercising through them...nothing works...grrrr...ouch...and moan...

Any advice???

Venting mostly,

Carrie

YES! This has really happened to me over the last few years! Cramps so bad I break out in a sweat and they have literally made my knees buckle (are you my sister? :)) What's different for me than it use to be is that they come in waves...so maybe 15-20 minutes of intense cramps and then nothing for a couple of hours, then it hits again! It used to be lighter but constant. No advice here other than I just work through it.

Acupuncture and colon cleansing (not necessarily in that order).

I used to suffer horrific monthly cramps! Absolutely terrible, doubled over in pain, nothing's getting rid of these until they want to go on their own cramps.

I tried acupuncture, and that helped quite a bit. I still had cramps, but they weren't as bad, and Motrin actually knocked them out within 30 minutes. Then, I did a colon cleanse with a product called Colonix. The first month on the cleanse, I had cramps, but they were so minor that I didn't even need to take anything. The second month on the cleanse, the cramps were hardly noticeable. The third and final month on the cleanse, I had no cramps at all.

I'm not going to go into the details because I don't have time right now, but if you're interested in finding out more, visit www.drnatura.com - there's lots and lots of info on that site; enough to keep you reading for days.

Wow, the stuff on that site is absolutely discusting!!! But I have been having problems with bowel movements for quite sometime. Ex-lax doesn't even work, along with natural foods and fibers of course...

You might be on to something here...

How do you do this product? I mean what happens after 3 months of being on the product? After 3 months are you considered clean and don't need the product anymore? Do you have to do it once a year, or do they recemmend you do it for the rest of your life? I know so many questions here...sorry, that site really peaked my interest...

Were you afraid that some of that stuff was actually part of your intestines?

When you have a spare moment, could you tell me more about your experience? Anymore bloating, were you able to digest your foods better? I have a hard time digesting certain foods...

Thank you

Carrie

Forgive the grammatical/spelling errors in the above post, keyboard button happy fingers got away from me:)

I don't know what kind of birth control you're on... but I found being on the pill helped immeasurably with my cramps. I had incredible cramps... the kind that you literally feel all the way down your thighs, in your lower back, lower abdomen... they were so bad for days that I couldn't eat or sleep. Also, my period was 10 days long and would come whenever it felt like it-- anywhere from 18 to 47 days in a cycle. (!!!) But once I'd been on the pill for about 6 months, my cramps were reduced to almost nothing. Occasionally I feel a twinge, but that's it. Like I said, I don't know what you're willing to do to tone the cramps down, but I know a lot of people who've found being on the pill helps.

Hi Carrie,

I take Alleve for my cramps and I take two at the
very start of my period then only 1 at a time after that.
Several of my girlfriends have good results with Alleve too.

My cramps have decreased as I get older but my periods are
lighter too. I did find acupuncture to help a great deal with
cramps and bloating as long as I had the treatment as close to
the first day of my period as possible.

Yes Carrie...I have noticed this too! At least Advil still works for me. I should be thankful because they are usually only bad for a couple of days. Sending a heating pad and some Advil your way! :)
