Just wanted to see how all of you in your first trimester are doing? Are you surviving? How do you handle work, etc, if you're feeling sick? I'm 12 weeks, and still feeling nausea daily. Surprisingly, I've not "emptied my stomach" once!

I found it easier to exercise when I was first pregnant. But ever since about 9-10 weeks, I have really just wanted to lay on the couch and watch tv or nap when I get home from work. I can't even bring myself to fix dinner. In a recent hungry delirium I went to store and bought $80 worth of frozen dinners! The lady behind me in line said so loud that everyone could hear: "I'm looking at someone who doesn't have time to cook!"

It is also a little stressful because my husband took a new job in another state and we will be moving in 2 weeks. But we will be moving closer to family, so in the end, it will probably be a big help.

Anyway, I am very much looking forward to my second trimester, and hope that I get the much touted surge of energy. Although, it's still hard to imagine at this point.

I'd love to hear anyone else's stories and experiences. I need some comraderie today! :+

Hi Emily,
I'm in my second trimester. But you know what I'm now sick now I wasn't in my first trimester go figure. I am 16 weeks and absoutley miserable this is the time I should be feeling better but, I'm not. I didn't get any sleep last night I must have went to the bathroom about 8 times literally. Feel better.

Emily- well I'm not in my first trimester any more (19+ weeks) but I wanted to say:

A) I moved during my first trimester too! I was about 9 weeks along! It is good to get a big move over with- I am SO glad to have it behind us! Now we are free to really settle in and set up the nursery, etc! Much more fun!

B) Yes, second tri brings an energy surge- it did for me at least. First trimester I was tired, and often longed for naps (not my style) and barely exercised. Now my energy is back and I work out about 2-3 times a week (still not much- I'll get better!).
However, I am feeling the lull that I heard about- between weeks 18-21, the baby is putting on her first body fat and her bones are hardening- which adds up to fatigue and rapid belly growth for me! I like the rapid belly growth- the comments are fun. But I am sleepy again- and probably will be for another 2 weeks.
But I still did 30 minutes on the treadmill last night!

C) Your checkout lady story was funny. It's crazy how people who don't know the whole story just can't BEAR to keep their opinions to themselves! (shaking head)
Good luck! I look forward to reading more of your posts!

:) Hello, just wanted to let you know that I'm towards the end of my 9th week and I feel great. So far, no morning sickness at all. The only symptoms I have is fatigue especially when I come home from work and constant trips to the bathroom. Other than that, I feel very good. I still work out 5-6 days a week on the treadmill, I do it early in the morning, because I know I won't have the energy for it later in the day. I'm looking forward to my first doctors appointment on 2-25. I'll have my first ultrasound. Anyways, I hope your morning sickness ends soon. Take care M

Good to hear from some of you!

Shanda- I'm sorry to hear you're sick at 16 weeks. How bizarre that it has set on so late. I wonder how often that occurs. Take care of yourself.

Lisa- Sounds like we had similar first trimesters. Hopefully my energy will be back soon too. I'm assuming on, on average, it's between 12-14 weeks... Hold on through your lull!

M- You are so lucky! (Knock on wood if you read Shanda's post above!) But I do wish you less fatigue and a good first doctor visit.

I love to hear everyone's experiences, so don't forget to post often!

Keep chugging along,

Emily

I am 9 weeks pregnant and doing great. Hungry all the time, but I am always hungry anyway. Working out 6 days a week. No morning sickness but I am going to the bathroom frequently and going to bed by 8:30.
