*busts into thread, singing*

Happy days are here again
The sky above is clear again
Let us sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again!!!!

You ladies rock my socks;)

So long sad times!,
Go 'long bad times!,
We are rid of you at last
Howdy, gay times!
Cloudy gray times,
You are now a thing
Of the past, cause:

Shelley, you ROCK !!

Michele

Adelvice, Adelvice (sp?)
Every morning your greet me
Soft and sweet
la la la ( forgot this line, dang it )
you look happy to see me

Blossom of love
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow for ever
This is my song of love
Bless this Catheland forever

Oh, gosh
SOM movie has many memories for me. It was the first movie I saw in a theatre. I played the VHS version repeatedly for my first two kids when we brought kid #3 home from the hospital. For some reason, they would sit and watch it and I would breast feed the baby. Then I would sing them the songs at bed time.

OK sorry to get gushy. Thank you for this thread.

Blessings to all of us and a happy NEW YEAR for all!

Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me

Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever

Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever

Judy,

My DH gets teary eyed every time he hears Edelweiss! He LOVES that song.

This thread is all about the LOVE.

Okay, now my favorite!!!

"You are 16 going on 17
Fellows will fall in line
Eager young lads and
blah blah and cads will
offer you food and wine

Totally unprepared are you
To face a world of men
blah blah blah

I am 17 going on 18
I'll take care of you!"

You know, I just realized how incredibly chauvinistic those lyrics are. That is why he sided with the Nazis! :+ That is the best movie EVER!!!

Here's one by Live that's near and dear to my heart:

it's easier not to be wise
and measure these things by your brains
I sank into Eden with you
alone in the church by and by
I'll read to you here, save your eyes
you'll need them, your boat is at sea
your anchor is up, you've been swept away
and the greatest of teachers won't hesitate
to leave you there, by yourself, chained to fate

I alone love you
I alone tempt you
I alone love you
fear is not the end of this!

it's easier not to be great
and measure these things by your eyes
we long to be here by his resolve
alone in the church by and by
to cradle the baby in space
and leave you there by yourself chained to fate

oh, now, we took it back too far,
only love can save us now,
all these riddles that you burn
all come runnin' back to you,
all these rhythms that you hide
only love can save us now,
all these riddles that you burn

I alone love you
I alone tempt you
I alone love you
fear is not the end of this!

Got that right, biznitches... fear is NOT the end of ANYTHING. This public service message is brought to you by the Pinkinator, protector of Christmas. Anyone who tries to ruin it shall be blasted by grenades disguised as Christmas balls. So if you don't want to pick Christmas ball shrapnel off your skin over the holidays, crawl back into your hole and down some spiked eggnog to help you sleep off the grumpiness. I'll give you a lump of coal to help warm your frigid little soul. In the meantime, I'm off to shop for a bunch of five-year-olds who still believe in Santa Claus.

Okay, if we're doing lyrics, I have to throw in Tool.

So familiar and overwhelmingly warm
This one, this form I hold now.
Embracing you, this reality here,
This one, this form I hold now, so
Wide eyed and hopeful.
Wide eyed and hopefully wild.

We barely remember what came before this precious moment,
Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside...
This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in
This body makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion.

We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment,
We are Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside...
This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in...

This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal all this pain is an illusion.

Alive

This holy reality, in this holy experience. Choosing to be here in...

This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal all this pain is an illusion...
Of what it means to be alive

Swirling round with this familiar parable.
Spinning, weaving round each new experience.
Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this
chance to be alive and breathing
chance to be alive and breathing.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal.
all this pain is an illusion.

Ohhh Shelley and Pinky,

I confess I've never heard of Live or Tool, but those are some beautiful lyrics/poetry.

I have determined that this is going to be a lovely day!

You guys are THE BEST!!!

very tight {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}

Michele

WOW, when I think of tool, I don't think of those kinds of lyrics!!! :) That is pretty!!!

From my fave group, Coldplay:

Daylight

To my surprise, and my delight
I saw sunrise, I saw sunlight
I am nothing in the dark
And the clouds burst to show daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooh and I realise
Who cannot live without
Ooh come apart without
It
On a hill top, on a sky-rise
Like a first born child
At full tilt, and in full flight
Defeat darkness, breaking daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooh and I realise
Who cannot live without
Ooh come apart without
Daylight

Slowly breaking through the daylight

Here's and excerpt from "The Legend of the Christmas Prayer" by Brian Morgan. This is one of my favorite Christmas stories.

On the first day of Christmas I pray for you joy in abundance and laughter, for laughter cures our ills and joy makes our spirits soar.

On the second day of Christmas, I pray for you a sigh when you need one, for a sigh clears the heart as a cough clears the throat, and with a sigh comes acceptance of what we cannot change.

On the third day of Christmas, I pray for you tears when you need them, for tears clear the eyes to see the stars and cleanse the soul to let healing being.

On the fourth day of Christmas, I pray for you serenity, for fights and wars start in individual hearts and that is where they must end.

On the fifth day of Christmas, I pray for you wisdom, for our priceless gift is the gift of choice - and we should use it well every day, in word and deed.

On the sixth day of Christmas, I pray for you patience, for most troubles pass if we wait them out, and success comes with persistence.

On the seventh day of Christmas, I pray for you courage, for there may be many pitfalls and dangers ahead and problems can only be solved when they are faced.

On the eighth day of Christmas, I pray for you compassion, for we cannot help others until we understand them, and we cannot understand them until we walk in their shoes.

On the ninth day of Christmas, I pray for you a willingness to work, for work turns dreams to reality - whether the dreams are ours or belong to those we can help.

On the tenth day of Christmas, I pray for you unwavering faith, for faith shapes our morals and our destiny and draws us closer to God.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, I pray for you a mind full of hope, for hope determines our attitudes, sets our goals and creates our ideals.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, I pray for you a heart so full of love that every day you must give some away to those whose paths you cross.

Okay Missy,

I know I must really date myself but I've never heard of Coldplay either.

Those lyrics are beautiful.

Hey everybody, thanks for playing my happy, love, Christmas game!

I know it's lit a spark in my day. I hope it has for you as well.

Michele:)

Michele, here is a link to Amazon, where you can listen to snipets from Coldplay:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...3/002-1945298-2512003?s=music&v=glance&n=5174

This is off of my favorite CD, Parachutes. Check out Shiver and Trouble. And then Panic and High Speed, then Everything's Not Lost. :p shoot, you may as well just listen to them all! They are just great and I don't dislike one song from off of this CD. There are just some I like more than others. :)

Missy

Wow. Beautiful stuff.

Here's more Tool. It's called Reflections

I find that I can see a light at the end down
Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole.
Defeated I Concede and move closer. I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness. How pitiful.
It's calling me.

And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping.
The moon tells me a secret. My confidant.
As full and bright as I am, this light is not my own
A million light reflections pass over me
It's source is bright and endless.
She resuscitates the hopeless
Without her we are lifeless satellites dreaming dreams.
And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt
Don't want to be down here feeding my narcissism
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out before I pine away.
before I pine away.

So crucify the ego before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
Just let the light touch you and let the words spill thorough
Just let them pass right through, bringing out our hope and reason.

before I pine away.

*twirls in on tip toes with flouncy dress swirling around*

Looooooooooving you is easy cause you're beautiful!

la la la la la

la la la la la

lalalalalalalalalalala

*squeals* oooooooooooooooooooo

Shelley,

That is so lovely! Okay, now I'm going to have to look up "Tool". I'm old--I love Frank, who loves ya baby, Sinatra!

Michele

Oh, Shelley, we are going to end up going through every inspirational song we can think of!!! :)

This is "I Could Fly" from Keith Urban:

Time stands still for no one
I know this is true
I've been stuck here waiting
Then along came you
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew

I wanna thank you for the love that you give me
And the sun that you put in my sky
You don't know how much you've lifted me up
But I feel so alive
That I could fly
I could fly, oh

There's no way I could've made it this far
Without you
You came to me just when I needed someone to believe
That I could make it through
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew

Above the clouds
Fly so high, never come down
Just you and I, I'm so in love
With you, with you
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew

I wanna thank you for the love that you give me
And the sun that you put in my sky
You don't know how much you've lifted me up
But I feel so alive

And I could fly, I could fly, oh
I wanna spread my wings
Let me tell you
Said I need your love, I need your love
Stay with me baby
Oh, I need your love, and I need your love
Stay with me baby
Oh, I need your love, I need your love
Stay with me baby
Yeah I need your love, and I need your love
Stay with me honey baby, c'mon now stay
C'mon now, yeah

You and me side by side walkin' through the woods in the pale moonlight
Oh yeah now and it feels so good
