Fear of falling

Has anyone fallen over the other way while doing piles on the balance ball?

I can now get a little ways up, but I'm afraid that once I'm able to get up there , I'll lose my balance and just keep going, rolling over right onto my head and back, and cracking my neck!

Thanks!

Aw, christ! The K is right next to the L on the keyboard. Haha! Piles on the ball!

Sounds kind of nasty...

Oopsies. Yes, PIKES on the ball. :+

I get that feeling sometimes. I just go real slow, and probably don't go ALL the way up. Not sure, as I can't see myself LOL! But, I just concentrate on form, and if I feel shaky, or my shoulders feel weak, I take it easy and don't push it, so I don't land on my head!!

When I do the pikes I think I'm concentrating so hard on keeping my feet on the ball that my weight load is on that end of my body, so I don't feel like I'll fly the other way. But ya never know! ;-)

That end point does sometimes feel unstable, like you're about to roll over. That's why, when I was first doing these, and didn't have the shoulder girdle stability/strength to hold myself up safely, I didn't go all the way to perpendicular to the floor.

If you are concerned about falling over, put some blankets or pillows or something to cushion a possible fall in front of your hands, so that if you do go over, you'll at least know you're safe, and 'tuck and roll.'
