I am now 19 weeks pregnant. After doctor told me to stop high impact, I am struggling to find workouts. So far I have been enjoying my firm tapes,TT2, firm strength and firm cardio and bodysculpt. For cardio I have been enjoying zumba and greatest step workout modified low with Gay Gasper. What are other workouts people are doing, or have done especially in the 2nd trimester.

I have been doing Karen Voight's Energy Sprint. I first bought it a long time ago due to its placement in videofitness.com's favorites section. When I received it, I did it once, and did not like it. It has been collecting dust until I pulled it out a week or two ago and have started using it twice per week. It is mostly low impact, and great during the second trimester, perhaps the third as well, however, I am not there yet. For me as an advanced exerciser in my non-pregnant state, it was hard to put away a lot of my fun high impact workouts. But I have, and I am glad I never traded Energy Sprint because it seems to be perfect for me at 22 weeks. I wish I had more like it. It is the only Karen Voight workout I own. I may try some of her other cardio workouts to see if she has more good low impact. Also, it surprised me how well it got my heart rate up, considering when I did it a long time ago, it seemed way too easy.

For weight work, I continue to use mostly Muscle Endurance and Power Hour. I just do push ups instead of the laying on the back chest exercises.

I haven't been on this forum for a while now but thought I would jump in and say hello and add to this post. I had my second baby a year ago and exercised with Cathe workouts through the entire pregnancy. One video I used alot on days when I wasn't able to do a Cathe video was Kari Anderson's Fitness Formula. It is not too long and she has three background exercisers showing examples of how to do the workout at high impact, moderate impact and low impact. I was able to really adjust this tape up or down depending on how I was feeling on a particular day. It was my favorite non Cathe tape. Otherwise, I used some of the older Cathe tapes and only used a 4' step and took out all the jumps etc. I also used Power Hour and MIS alot.

Hope this helps! We are thinking about trying for #3 later on this winter so maybe I will be back on this forum again.

I used cathe's earlier videos with less complicated choreography since my balance gets off after 20 weeks. Step heat and step jam were my 2 pregancy favorates. Other non cathe with simple choreography for the balance chalenged were:

Gilad step aerobics (beautiful beach setting- you can buy it on amazon.com)
Kathy smith power step (just took out the jumps)
Kathy smith step workout
Kari anderson fitness forumula
Keli Roberts ultimate step workout

I am nearing the end of my first pregnancy (38 weeks) and have been using video workouts throughout the pregnancy. I've found too that less complicated choreography is a good way to go. For me, my balance seems pretty good (I can still do yoga poses for instance where I balance on one leg and bend forward with one leg back), but, I just get so tired that my brain can't seem to deal with any complicated patterns!!! I need simple movements or I just get overwhelmed these days.

I've been able to use a lot of my tapes; the ones I have not used are ones that require a lot of time spent on my back and/or my stomach (e.g. All the Right Moves with Grace Lazenby).

My favourite workout tape during this pregnancy has been the Kathy Smith Kickboxing Workout? The warm-up, as you progress in your pregnancy, is vigorous and the cardio portion itself is low-impact but gets your heart-working. There is standing butt-work, a nice cool-down that stretches your legs and pelvic area and the ab work is perfect for a pregnant woman - there are no exercises on your back. At 38 weeks, I can still do the exercises on this tape - very helpful.
I get sick of the music though so I play my own selections while doing the tape. It's been a great workout esp. in the last few weeks.
